I agree with Quadlock being kind of it’s own ecosystem but when I buy a new phone I’m gonna buy a new case anyways so might as well get a Quadlock case for my phone 😅
This was also my thought process. I got the case, vibration dampener, bike mount and a car mount for like $100. The case is slim enough so that you can fit it in any other car mount by sliding it in, but rugged enough to keep the phone protected if it falls. Plus, Quadlock stands behind their product.
Ram mount ruined my phone’s camera and screen due to the vibration, and it would hit the side buttons at times. Been rocking quad lock for 2 years problem free, I wish they had different color cases though
@AllGas NoBrakes what do you mean. My ram messed up my phones camera. And I won't go quadlock cuz those cases are wack. So I'm not running any phone mounts.
I have an iPhone that is affected by vibration, what phone mount should I get? I have a cheap one, but will be removing it because it will destroy my camera.
Used Ram Mounts for years and just recently switched to the Quad Lock. I love it. The ram mounts always swivel and move as I'm riding, and I had one case that was slick try to vibrate out on me. The Ram Mounts are good, but the Quad Lock is cleaner and more solid. I have to buy a new case every time I buy a new phone anyways, I would just buy a quadlock case instead of a spigen or whatever brand.
@@LAalien1 technically you’re right. To be clear it never swiveled on the ball though, it swiveled on the head only so much in either direction. It’s actually a flaw of the x grip head design. It is not an issue if you are using the rubber webbing to wrap around the corners of your device. But that just further proves my point of it being a subpar product. Quad lock, peak design, etc mounts don’t require the extra step of stretching and wrapping a rubber web around your device making it uglier and less usable while mounted. They are faster and easier to use while looking better and keeping your screen unobstructed. You get what you pay for, ram mounts are the cheaper budget option. The thing that scared me away from Ram Mount was knowing people who'd lost phones. I know most people it doesn't happen to, I just feel better with a positive mechanical lock rather than a friction lock.
Quadlock is the way of the future for motorcycle mounts. i too have a RAM mount but will soon be swapping over to a full Quadlock system. being able to charge my phone on the go with a simple and easy system is priceless.

The ram mount is great but mak sure to have the flexible rubber peice that stretches over the edges of your phone it makes where it won't shake so much
Stopped using ram mounts after my phone fell off while riding. I switched to Rokform and actually looped my bike while using and my phone stayed in place without even a scratch

Heard good things about Quadlock but could not find a case for my phone, so instead i got the same Ram mount, after totalling my bike my phone did not have a scratch on it so i can for sure recommend!
Chose quadlock over ram due to the ram mount failing on me while riding down the road. Either the quality seemed to have gone downhill or my bad luck just seem to never end. That and while you do need to invest on a new case to use Quadlock, so long as they don't change mounting point, it's a pretty decent deal for the case too. From my personal experience, Quadlock beat out Otterbox in terms of durability and protection and it is a lot less bulkier.
You can get a universal adaptor for phones with Quadlock. I’ve been involved in a high speed crash and the phone still works after being completely smashed. So the case is certainly good quality
I had the RAM mount for some time and I always hated it. I could never clamp the phone in dead center because the side buttons would be pressed by the arms... So It had to be off-center and dangerously so... It is also bulky. Now I have quadlock with wireless chareging and isolation. Works flawless. The cases are very protective and I can use the poncho wich make the phone super water tight. The one disadvantage of quad-lock is that cases are only available for expensive phones... You have a 250$ phone? No quadlock case for you! There is an adhesive general purpose mount but that only adheres to certain materials... if you have 250$ phone there is probably no case to which you can adhere that mount... So you can only stick that mount directly to that phone... then you can no longer use any case... Yes it is a ecosystem but it also the best ecosystem.
Good point, but damn how convenient it's to unlock your phone from the mount with one hand ✋ Especially, when you do it several times a day it all makes sense
I lost a phone cause of the A$$ Ram mount. You don't need a specific case they sell 3m sticker that will go on any case and it's essentially the locking case part just gotta look for it cause they hide it
I do prefer quadlock because of the vibration damper. But I can also say they it does work. I was in a motorcycle crash a few months ago. My bike flipped as I was thrown off the bike. But what stayed perfectly on and kept my phone safe? Quadlock
I have been under the impression because of the ads from QL that I can't use my RAM for my phone anymore because it will get ruined because it doesn't have the vibration dampener. This video makes me want to use it!
For me I rock a quad lock. They sadly don't make cases for my phone (OnePlus 9 pro) so I use the universal kit, and it will work on any phone, if I get a new phone I can get another one for fairly cheap. Quad lock is by far the most stable and secure phone mount I've personally ever used. Also it's very low key and I can appreciate that.
You can get a universal sticky mount for the quad lock that works perfect on any case but will stick out a bit. I had both and only mistake I did was not switch to quad lock sooner
I have ram mount too. Works great and very reliable. Even got a secure rubbery thing to hook over the edges of my phone. Came with the bike. No issue so far

I like the quad lock As it's sleek & doesn't look ugly. The ram mount is also prone to the rubber parts losing their glue & breaking down over time. Mine only lasted 8 months so you must be lucky with the 15 years! Everytime I get a new phone, I wanna protect it with a case anyways so it's not that big a deal to me at least.
