Love their voices, their harmony, and their energy. I'd have liked it better if she'd sung the words to the first verse the way Mickey Newbury wrote it. "All I do is wring my hands and listen to the wind moan," I believe it the right way. She sang the line about writing a sad song, which is in the song, but it's in the last verse. Good version, but could have been just a little bit better.
don't like her voice. Maybe good but it don't sound natural to me, miss the control because loud singing is not that difficult. After 2 hours of singing she will be husky.

It's poetic licence I'm afraid. Nikki Lane sometimes alters the last verse too. Doesn't detract from the song and everybody knows that it's Newburys.

thedesertroseband, I've seen them live twice. Her voice holds out the entire gig.
Would've been much better if the lower frequencies weren't being so over-driven. That's what makes the fiddle seem so washed-out.
