You're the only channel I know that talks about more unorthodox methods and doesn't just repeat what everyone else says is the "right" thing to do. Thank you
@@GodPorter144 I think you're missing the point. All vocals are going to start out as a raw recording, but often, that's not what the tutorials start with, there's usually been some sort of processing that's already been applied to the vocal before it's being used in a tutorial. Rarely do tutorials start with a truely raw vocal track, one that starts from the minute the record button is clicked would be a good idea. 🙂
Yes real talk.... The vocals already sound good before they use it for the tutorial, so we need to see all those backgrounds process too, how they clean it up and heavily compress it to make the dynamic balanced
Isolation of transient is such a great technique ! Some limiters have transient emphasis fuction, it is the same or they doing something different ? thank you Sage Audio for great tutorial.
Great video as always But just a heads up... With MSED you don't have to duplicate the channel to do this routing Simply set 1 instance of MSED in decode mode. This will set the left output as Mid And the right as side Then put a gulfosse after. Set this to the left output (depending on the DAW) Then add a 2nd gullfose and set to the right channel Then add a 2nd MSED and set it to Decode mode This will bring it back to a stereo mix Mid Side Encode Decode MSED
@@ma3boch Hi. No, 2x of each (or any other stereo plugin) like this 1st MSED (in Encode) --> 1st Gulfosse (as left out) --> 2nd Gulfosse (as right out) --> 2nd MSED (as Decode) Anything you place between the 2 instances of MSED will be in Mid/sIde mode You can also use this to split analogue gear as m/s rather than a typical L/R
great video, i really appreciate how concise these tutorials are. i think i learned more from this than i did from the last 10 mastering videos i've watched lol.
I follow this channel for a while and I noticed that in the earlier mastering videos you were using the fabfilter eq in low quality linear phase mode, and now you're using it in zero latency mode, what made you change your mind? Thank you!
its weird how little info is in the solod band and how scratchy it sounds like $hit but when added to the mix it like fills it in, i almost hear it and want to take that scruffy data out, but here you are maximizing it... interesting, and yes i heard the sutle expansion
nocap tho fuck compressing the master i see everyone doing it but it just messes up the whole song especially these days when it's all 808 bass oriented the whole thing just ducks all around the place, goes to show people doing 'what has always been done' without knowing what their tools are actually doing
Please gainstage after adding effects. It's hard to notice the difference if the after is more louder than before. Nonetheless, great tips!
That transient saturation is GOLD
literally, tried it out and its amazing
so glad reaper can do delta for all plugins ;)

Interesting how mastering techniques change over time. It pays to stay informed. Thanks!
how to do vocal processing with totally raw vocal? That would be great! Keep supporting this channel.
Nah word like a karaoke sounding vocal cause most of us record in home studios
ruclips.net/video/_Z0Yq8btiXw/видео.html I like this video of theirs, but there are a bunch about vocals-- they're all helpful and great!

This is priceless info.. don’t get discouraged by view count it hasn’t exploded yet
Good God, this channel is a gold mine.
I have tried so many eqs and now I understand why ProQ3 is used by so many.

How to create space in a mix would be a cool topic. Like how to use reverbs
Great video as always

this is blowing my mind ive never thought to do this.
Hi bro, do you mean we need 2 gullfose and 3 MSED on the track?

@@compoundaudio Aha, I will try the method and tell you what will happen to me. Thank you for the reply ❤️
@@ma3boch no problem there are some YT vids on this showing u... I use to use it for splitting analogue outboard to MS
Happy to hear this about TP limiting from Sage. Personally, I don't like it in hot mixes, and I gave up doing it on my home masters.
Super informational as usual (y)
i LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this channel!!!

Music song please ?? Loving the tutos as always thanks buddies 😀😀
Thank you sage audio .. can you please make a video about channel strip for a spoken word/audiobook narration/podcasting?
I ❤️ Gullfoss

Which plugin did you use for isolating transients? Thanks
Great job

Regarding oversampling, how is the increased delay/latency affecting the transients at all? Please explain
impressed
The gullfoss trick is interesting.
How much for to get a master done with you guys??
I just sent you a song, all the way from south Africa, it's a strange genre but you gonna like it
Nice
Bravo
It seems the plug in
Sir thats all plugins you use are they have in waves v9?
None of them are waves
But that fabfilter pro Q3 i have i my waves v9
