Dawn Chorus
To celebrate Biodiversity week (15th -23rd of May) and as part of our education programme, we have filmed a short video of the wonderful sights and sounds of the Dawn Chorus at the Glebe Gardens.
From the months of March to July our feathered friends are up bright and early to sing and welcome the dawning of a new day - they sing to attract a mate or to defend their territories.
Our songbirds time their breeding season to the warmest part of the year - when the days are longer and food supply is much more plentiful.
We encourage teachers/educators to share this video with their students, so that they too, can listen to the incredible sounds of the Dawn Chorus.
