YG call them 'ugly' multiple times. I've actually seen one video when they made cookies for Teddy oppa and YG. CL also said that one time when they were rehearsing without makeup, YG jokingly called them ugly again. We accept jokes but when it's done regularly, we start questioning ourselves that maybe it's true and I think that's what they felt. Also, Minzy is a very talented member. She can sing really good, rap, and of course own the dancefloor. But she is the only member who NEVER got to debut as a soloist under YG. She once shared that she wanted to pursue a career where she can freely do her passion which is singing, dancing, performing and most importantly get credits from it. 2ne1's choreo was too easy for her especially with her hiphop background in dancing, and YG never sent her to a dance show except for that one time when she danced alongside Hyuna and Gain. She just felt she's being held back just because of her 'look' (apparently) and it's really unfair knowing how talented this person is.
