Still one of the best F1 games on PS1 alongside Monaco GP Racing Sim 2. The graphics, the handling and the cockpit views in these two games were the best for me.

@@MastersDefender used to create a good result, if you could make the cars behind make the slightest touch on damage mode, they usually ended up with their engines blown

It was ok but there are issues with that game
For example some slowdowns that happen sometimes make the gameplay rough

Yes, and much more was a complete disaster, the 98 version.
The issue is that in the maximum difficulty level I easily won the 98 Championship, with Jarno Trulli in a Prost Peugeot, and I think all we could remember how slow and unreliable was the Peugeot engine this 98 year.
All opposite as in their production cars, I own a ZX Citroën (yes, very very old car) and since I own it, it never broke down. The RELIABILITY made car.
Remarkable that I bought it with 25 years old and now it is 31.
PD: I am going to look for this game and buy it.

To take the slow corners tap the square button gently according to how challenging the corner is never press hard for even a second or your going to spin and crash you need to dive into those corners as fast as you can but tap brake dont press brake

The designer of that game maybe was Irvine's friend because that driver is a pain in the ass even more than Schumacher.
I dunno, but I think Duckstation is the ultimate PS1 emulator ATM.

Both emulator looks the same (on maximum settings) BUT BeetleHW is much more stable n smoother (no random lag spikes). 😁👍

@@xTimelessGaming DuckStation hasn't had issues like this for a long while - and if there are any lag spikes, they are likely caused by reading from the HDD
This is the first time I see someone playing this game without crashing and sliding in every corner, I loved it back in the day but fuck those controls were hard
The Formula One games feel so wrong after the F-one 97', you could clearly see the change of developers

emulation not so good on this game. a lot of glitches that aren't present on real hardware
Beetle PSX on Retroarch can't play some games.
Tried this it's very unplayable because it's very fast (I mean so fast when you started driving) and on SwanStation it's very slow.
There is Raytracing in PS1 :O See : Search. taillights reflect on asphalt ...
