Was just having a discussion with someone and they couldn't figure out what was the purpose of Yunis showing Holly the picture of Claude (something happened there too). The person said maybe Holly thought the picture of Claude was what she saw in the drawing's of El Cuco but I don't know about that. At this point I've come to realize that Ralph isn't even the hero of the show because his pride in not accepting all the clue's and hint's in front of him causes his police work to be lazy and he just might be part of the tragedy at the end of the series. Yunis is probably one of the smartest ppl in this series and I think that the reason Yunis showed Holly the picture of Claude was because Yunis and Ralph saw the video where Terry came in contact with Claude. I can't remember if Yunis was there at the video viewing when Ralph asked him if it looked like Claude had been scratched by Terry but even if Yunis wasn't there for that, he was there to listen to Holly at her meeting. My guess is Yunis was smart enough to understand where Holly was going with her statement's as far as physical contact with ppl who encounter El Cuco or other ppl who had been in physical contact with the child murderers manipulated by El Cuco that Holly spoke of and in this case it's Terry to Claude and he was able to figure that out. At first I couldn't figure out why Yunis was parked across the street from the strip club watching Claude after he came out the club from that fight but now I think it's because Yunis has a clue and is doing better police work than Ralph is because he's more open minded enough to believe when Ralph doesn't want to and that make's Ralph's police work look shitty. Yunis was the first to notice the barn where they found Terry's clothes, something you would think Ralph would've seen if he took what Holly said about being around a cemetery serious as far as old shack's or building's where El Cuco might hide in. In a way Yunis showing Holly that photo of Claude is also telling her he's listening to Holly and taking her serious and it's also a slap in the face to Ralph's poor detective work because he should have told Holly about the Terry and Claude scratch that he witnessed on video a long time ago.
El Cuco is a monster from Todash space, the empty space between different realities. El Cuco feeds off grief, IT feeds off fear, and Dandelo feeds off laughter.
I feel like people who have never read kings work complain a lot about the pacing. Anybody who has read Stephen King's work knows that he is terrible at pacing and that adapting his work is going to be difficult to begin with. You're going to get a lot of slow. You're going to get a lot of stale moments he did a lot of drugs LOL. I just don't think it's fair to call it's too slow. Like they said at the beginning of Watchmen(paraphrase)if I told you everything at the beginning your head would explode.
@@andresreyna4260 arguably that's true but think about it this way the book is extremely slow so it took for them to get to the point. So compressing the first half of the book into two episodes and then extending the second half of the book into a reasonable and manageable level is good for me I mean maybe I just do it differently I don't want to say that anybody else is wrong the way they view a show I just don't feel like it's that way when compared to the books but to each their own I enjoy it and I look forward to the Finish. And if I'm wrong I'm cool with accepting responsibility for my statements online I just that's how I feel and that's what I believe
They should prob have just done the movie instead of stretching the book into a series. They could have gone into the entities past a little more. I’m still interested in the show.
I have stumbled upon a suggestion that Outsider is a sort of sequel from Mr Mercedes and another trilogy by King and that Holly is also in Mr Mercedes....I’m not sure which order the books are in but Outsider is related
balellak - nearly everyone but her as experienced the Outsider tormenting or manipulating their dreams. Now Holly got her dream and is pissed. She got super pissed at Ralph and the Outsider just made it personal. She’s out for blood!
I have a question. In the scene where Ralph is speaking to Tamika, she puts the baby down inside and comes out to talk. There is a flash of the Outsider standing over the crib. Ralph asks her if anyone is bothering her family. She says no. What is going on there?
They said he quit but he clearly got fired and didn’t want to go, he had no plans of what he was going to do next. I think the manager was just covering for him as most people would do if the police came in asking about their friend. He wouldn’t want to drop him in it incase they are building a case against him
I know how the story ends but I like the way the characters are fleshed out so much I’m kinda hoping for a “adaptation” ending lol I think the bug could’ve also represented the final transformation of el cuco too.
The story has progressed an episode's worth if you combine the last 3 episodes... I was compelled through first half of the series, hope it gets back on track.
Heard that the second season is already under works! The next episode seems to suggest what happens in the book (but no mine??), I wonder how far they would stretch the ending into season 2?
I wonder how much of el cuco's perspective we are gonna get? If he's gonna monologue how he did it and why he picked or didn't, his victims. And what exactly are the full scope of his powers? And his weaknesses because it feels like Holly is just assuming a lot.
Erm... In the book the confrontation woth the outiser is rather deflating. It left me with questions. Considering they're already changing and adding things. I hope more is added to that since we've only seen him 4 times if that.
@@metanoiabooks3729 Yea, Excactly, I hope they don't drop the ball in the end. And honestly, I wouldn't even mind seeing El Cuco win. 😆 He just kills everybody 😄 ... Wait, except Holly because I want Holly Gibney to get her own series.
Weirdly enough, I feel this way about most of HBO's programming. I wonder if that's something they go for. Just in going down the line of the shows I've checked out, they have a fairly slow start and when it starts to pick up, I've already lost interest.
Dude YES! This show is so damn slow i don’t understand how it’s getting so much hype. At the end of every episode i’m summing up what happened.. and it’s usually nothing at all.
I am enjoying this series and I love the characters, like Holly and Ralph. Just a little confused as to the Cuco's powers. Why doesn't he have Jack scratch Holly? Why doesn't he appear to Ralph instead of his wife? Ok so he needs 27 to transform, but he has minions, like Jack and Claude. Why aren't they scratching everyone involved in the case?
Claude isn't actually under the influence of El Cuco to do its bidding like Jack is but since Claude got scratched by El Cuco when it was mimicking Terry Maitland in the strip club, he's starting to feel out of it because Claude is supposed to be the next person El Cuco will mimic into its transformation. From what I can see in the show the ppl who have the bubbled up rash on the necks can't actually scratch another person for El Cuco's transformation or transfer the same rash they have on their necks to another person so Jack can't scratch Holly or do anything that El Cuco can and only El Cuco itself can do that. 😏Hope that helps.
Why does it feel like they've given up hunting for Jack and are completely fixated on Claude? Jack is still in Coco's power and should be a focal point for the police and Holly. This is especially confusing having just finished episode 8. Explain, please. What a wonderfully twisted series. Season 2? Please!
At the end of Ep.6 Claude is followed by Ralph's partner as he drives away. What did that have to do with anything really important because it appeared to me at the time to be an important cliff-hanger but turns out it wasn't?
@@TheJeneralJ.U.-ICEForever I got all that while I was watching in real time. But, the way the scene was set-up and lingered it appeared to me, I should take notice that something which involved just these two people in the next episode was going to make this scene important.
@@MrStringybark Well that's a possibility that something will go down heavy in the next episode being that there are only 3 left. I'm just hoping the ending isn't disappointing. Tried to give Ralph the benefit of the doubt but if he doesn't come strong with something other than that "I can't/don't believe it" shit in these last 3 episode's, this will be one disappointing tv series. It's time for him to start doing something other than that every week.
Okay great breakdown. Seriously, but im so confused. Jack is already targeted and is infected yet he was never cut. Than, Terry cuts Claude (as El Cuco) but yet Claude is acting alot more normal than Jack. I dont get why two people are somehow infected as El Cuco. Is Claude the next body to be transformed into after Jack dies? It just doesnt make sense to me why Claude is being prepped if Jack still hasnt done anything yet as EL Cuco.
Like most Stephen king stuff I fool myself but they always end up starting really good, have a drawn out middle and disappointing end. This seems more of the same. Don't get me wrong it's well acted and filmed just I feel it's gonna end up disappointing.
Have to agree considering what I have seen so far. The first episode absolutely drew me in. The second and third were interesting enough. After that it all became a bit boring and felt dragged out. Still I want to watch the ending and i feel it's a safe show to recommend.
This series has completely underutilized Ben Mendelsohn. What a joke. He's a phenomenal actor and so far he's been relegated to some sideshow bob. Why have they made his character into such a goddam schmuck? He would have been far more interesting if he was actually a good intelligent detective driving the story forward and combining all that with his personal issues. This series started off so well with Jason Bateman. It had a really interesting setup with the way his character made every effort to be seen with his family during the murder and the evidence suggesting he was in two places at once. Also the tone of the series is amazing. I love the pacing and cinematography and similarity to True Detective. That's probably its greatest strength. But then they killed off Bateman, ruined Ben Mendelsohn's character and degenerated into some supernatural BS. Might aswell see it through to the end. I'm hoping for a decent payoff but I won't hold my breath.
New Millennial actually I think Ben has helped direct and produce this series but please check me on that I read the credits after a show and I believe I read Ben is also behind the scene as well a main character... I see it like this, if Ralph (Ben) is causing great frustration and almost anger with his characters bold denial then Ben is doing an excellent job with his character in my opinion hahaha he makes me want to smack Ralph up side the head hahaha so to me his portrayal is very effective and when finally the other characters start to fire back at Ralph for his remarks and obstruction, he comes to realize perhaps there are just some things you have to accept whether it is reasonable or not !!! Hence his emergency visit with the therapist...I don’t know about you but I have met people who have had the obvious in front of them and deny it.... until others say yes it is true then they must accept...Ralph is having to accept....kicking and screaming perhaps but accept none the less .. they only have one more episode left in the season hope they don’t make it too much of a cliffhanger hahaha love this show
So we know holly can pull things from another dimension right, like the doll in the MRI scan. She has 2 sets of rental keys? That's odd. Also what was she looking for once she drove to a random spot in the woods after her escape? If you ever watch the trailer towards the end you can see some real fast images. One shows a car explosion, and a after scene showing jack dead with a rifle , ralph squating , and about 3 other laid out either dead or dying Seems to be coming up.
I'll disagree and I say that only because this is the 7th episode from the time Freddie Peterson got murdered, Terry got charged with his death, then Terry dies, Jack gets afflicted by El Cuco, Holly come's on the scene, she tells the group what she learned, Jeannie becomes a believer, and Ralph is still in denial. If they were able to get all that in only 7 episodes I'd say that makes for damn good tv versus something like "The Walking Dead" where you gotta wait season after season on something that they let go on and on before the issue is resolved. In TWD's defense though I understand that "The Outsider" is a limited series but I wouldn't expect the height of this story by Stephen King to be at episode 4, 5, 6, 7, etc. Not saying you said that either, however I don't think the show is moving slow at all, I'm just ready for Ralph to start believing and I can see how slow that's going. I could give two shit's about Glory believing though. She's the worst character on this show and just now 🤔I wondered if El Cuco could pick up on her pessimistic and negative attitude and if she would be useful to it in the future because of that. It's easier to keep taking swipes at ppl who don't believe in something outside of their comfort zones and that goes for Howie and Ralph too. I have a theory that the ppl who are open minded and are starting to believe in the idea of El Cuco (Holly, Andy, Alec, Yunis, Jeannie) versus the one's who don't (Ralph, Howie, Glory) versus the afflicted or lost (Jack, Tamika, Claude) will be the one's that survive from El Cuco.
@@TheJeneralJ.U.-ICEForever "She's the worst character on this show" ... Disagree hear ... she's had some of the show's best moments. I especially like the Episode 6 where she calls out Holly's theories as lunatic.
I've read about how Ralph is being stubborn here but, really, that makes him my favorite character by far at this point. He's the one whose reaction makes the most sense, since most people would be grappling with this reality much harder than most of the characters have so far. Also, I didn't like how his wife blew up at him. Him getting out of the way for real would mean that the team wouldn't be able to catch the Outsider.
Episode 7 done. I’m 44 years old and this show is by far, the most boring & slowest burn into a story I’ve ever seen. I understand you have to build up the story but honestly you could cram the first 7 episodes into 2 and they would be half decent, only just.
Don't know about low key though. Her husband was profiled into a child murder case and she's going after the police department and whoever else she can to sue. Reporters and news stations would be all over something like that like fly's on shit.
The first two episodes of this season were as good a 1st two episodes as I’ve ever seen for any series. Unfortunately from there this series has really been dragging its feet & has had a lot of filler. This episode 7 was such a good break from the previous episodes that were just kinda boring. I’m pot committed for this 1st season, not sure it has what it takes to lock down a 2nd though
And I Glory annoys me for some reason, it is finished for her when she flicks her cigarette into the ground, polluting and possibly starting a 🔥. Which with the latest fires on 🌍. Its the sign of someone that doesnt care
Love Pet Are you talking about the grieving widow who’s entire life was destroyed by the most heinous accusations against her husband that a human being could commit, who can’t work in her hometown or anywhere really because of how gruesome and public the crime was, who’s children are being bullied for something she’s only just realizing that her husband may actually have done? Because if so, that’s cold. The actress annoys me though, I feel like she can’t act.
@@lovepet4565 You understand this is fiction, correct? Flicking a smoke on the ground isn't dangerous unless it's very dry. Anyways who cares? The fuck does Australian fires have to do with Stephen King's Universe?

In a way Yunis showing Holly that photo of Claude is also telling her he's listening to Holly and taking her serious and it's also a slap in the face to Ralph's poor detective work because he should have told Holly about the Terry and Claude scratch that he witnessed on video a long time ago.
The Jeneral J.U.-ICE yes I agree with you!
It keeps getting better and better, the acting is so good! Nice break down brother 👊
Thank you
El Cuco is a monster from Todash space, the empty space between different realities. El Cuco feeds off grief, IT feeds off fear, and Dandelo feeds off laughter.
I Love this series, and also the way you narrate your reviews. keep up the great work. as for Holly, I hope she lives, her portrayal is so deep.
Yea but the first two episodes went half way though the book essentially. So that really makes it feel slower than normal, lots of filler
I’ve never read the book, but I absolutely love this series!!
Probably why any King movie is 3 plus hours long...
Great vid once again... Am asking if this series will have a season 2?
Probably not unfortunately
I have stumbled upon a suggestion that Outsider is a sort of sequel from Mr Mercedes and another trilogy by King and that Holly is also in Mr Mercedes....I’m not sure which order the books are in but Outsider is related
Thanks for the breakdown. I wasn’t sure if something else had happened to Holly at the end or if it was just a bad dream.
Think it’s just the outsider tormenting her with bad dreams
balellak - nearly everyone but her as experienced the Outsider tormenting or manipulating their dreams. Now Holly got her dream and is pissed. She got super pissed at Ralph and the Outsider just made it personal. She’s out for blood!
Awesome explanation sir 😎♥️👌
This is a great show just love it
Thanks for checking out the video
I give those first two episodes a solid 9......this latest episode a 8 and the ones in between a low 7 for all the filler & feet dragging
Love the cockroach/beetle analogy. Didn’t quite figure out the symbolism until I saw your video!
I have a question. In the scene where Ralph is speaking to Tamika, she puts the baby down inside and comes out to talk. There is a flash of the Outsider standing over the crib. Ralph asks her if anyone is bothering her family. She says no. What is going on there?
Claude did not get fired. He quit. You get a lot of stuff wrong.
They said he quit but he clearly got fired and didn’t want to go, he had no plans of what he was going to do next. I think the manager was just covering for him as most people would do if the police came in asking about their friend. He wouldn’t want to drop him in it incase they are building a case against him
Was Waiting on this bro. Gracias!
Thanks! Hope you enjoyed the video
wow i didn't make the connection with the bug and the character laying down then sitting up. good analysis.
I know how the story ends but I like the way the characters are fleshed out so much I’m kinda hoping for a “adaptation” ending lol I think the bug could’ve also represented the final transformation of el cuco too.
Ah nice
Does the book get into the history of The Outsider more than the series at this point?
The story has progressed an episode's worth if you combine the last 3 episodes...
I was compelled through first half of the series, hope it gets back on track.
What does the last scene of Holly screaming suggests?
To me it suggest that El Cuco is now giving her nightmares and she knows it
@@heavyspoilers Alright. I asked because the last scene was so cryptic, it could have meant anything.
Hey man,
the lake that Ralf mention could be Castle Lake from Castlerock? What do you think?
Ah nice
Gosh. This was a great episode. Also Ben Mendelsohn is excellent in this.
I’m curious to see how many seasons the outsider is going to be . It can’t be more than 3 or 4 imo. Does anyone know how many they’re signed for?
Was waiting on this bro. I kind of feel like this show is wayyyyyy too slow. Still watching but damn
Yeah it is going quite slow, I think 8 episodes may have been better but I’m still enjoying it
Weirdly enough, I feel this way about most of HBO's programming. I wonder if that's something they go for. Just in going down the line of the shows I've checked out, they have a fairly slow start and when it starts to pick up, I've already lost interest.
It sure is
Good stuff.
Why does it feel like they've given up hunting for Jack and are completely fixated on Claude? Jack is still in Coco's power and should be a focal point for the police and Holly. This is especially confusing having just finished episode 8. Explain, please.
What a wonderfully twisted series. Season 2? Please!
Is it a cockroach or a cicada 'waking up'?
Great video
Id imagine the IMDB rating was lower than normal due to the lawsuit side story. Still enjoying it very much.
So who was the slave for the Terry iteration?
I didn’t read the book. Stopped reading King long ago, but I have a feeling Holly is already dead.🤷♀️
ATT said that HBO will make more content, lets hope the quality stays intact
Do u know who called out Alec's name out in the woods when he was a boy I feel like there is something more to it.
Hence his emergency visit with the therapist...I don’t know about you but I have met people who have had the obvious in front of them and deny it.... until others say yes it is true then they must accept...Ralph is having to accept....kicking and screaming perhaps but accept none the less .. they only have one more episode left in the season hope they don’t make it too much of a cliffhanger hahaha love this show
Patients! to everyone who says the show is slow lol i know ur mad u want more now and don’t want to wait but patients!
Sorry to be that person, but it's patience. Patients are people in care of a doctor.
I can’t tell if this show is really good or really bad
Although it is a beetle I do like the idea of la CUCAracha, the female version of el CUCO
dreams always tell the truth
Yeah gonna be interesting to see if Jack finally gets her
Bess beetle but great video
I love spoilers!
Glory came back to work too soon, selling her house might be her best option.
Ralph was getting on my last fucking nerves and I'm over it.
I really wanna win that infinity saga box ♥
So we know holly can pull things from another dimension right, like the doll in the MRI scan.
She has 2 sets of rental keys? That's odd.
Also what was she looking for once she drove to a random spot in the woods after her escape?
If you ever watch the trailer towards the end you can see some real fast images.
One shows a car explosion, and a after scene showing jack dead with a rifle , ralph squating , and about 3 other laid out either dead or dying
Seems to be coming up.
The rick and morty quote was a blessing
Or maybe Ralph is ready to let el cuco in...
Watched it with my wife last night, But wow it’s really slow lol wifey was really mad 😂
Can anyone please agree with me that this show is unbelievably slow? Like the last 5 episodes have felt like NOTHING HAS HAPPENED.
Yeah it has slowed a bit, really think they should’ve just done 8 episodes
Disagree. Each episode is so crammed with hints and details it takes more than one viewing to catch the clues.
Cynthia Mejías Bingo...its a slow burn but I think it adds to the drama....I have to watch each episode twice to catch it all
I thought the Outsider was Holly not el cuco.
When the outsider sends nightmares he appears as himself (hooded and all). Don't think that's what happened.
It's a beetle not a cockroach
This is like the slowest King show I have watched. Idk if the book is this slow
Episode 7 done. I’m 44 years old and this show is by far, the most boring & slowest burn into a story I’ve ever seen. I understand you have to build up the story but honestly you could cram the first 7 episodes into 2 and they would be half decent, only just.
That’s a beetle not a cockroach
she wants to sue because the money would help her stay low key and not work
Don't know about low key though. Her husband was profiled into a child murder case and she's going after the police department and whoever else she can to sue. Reporters and news stations would be all over something like that like fly's on shit.
Too slow of a burn for me way to much filler and Not much has progressed since episode two. I still want to enjoy it. Love the cast.
I like Ralph, he is really hot
Not a roach
The first two episodes of this season were as good a 1st two episodes as I’ve ever seen for any series. Unfortunately from there this series has really been dragging its feet & has had a lot of filler. This episode 7 was such a good break from the previous episodes that were just kinda boring. I’m pot committed for this 1st season, not sure it has what it takes to lock down a 2nd though
Agree wholeheartedly.
It’s just a miniseries it’s not going to have a 2nd season
Wish Batemen had directed more than just the first two episodes only
I feel like there going to give Andy pelleys death
With all this cockroach info i’m gonna have to rewatch the episode
This is not a 10 episode series. At best 6-7 episodes would have it made it more interesting!
The actress annoys me though, I feel like she can’t act.
doombuggy123 not the widow lol um it isnt real? Obviously the actress playing the unsympathetic widow
@@lovepet4565 You understand this is fiction, correct? Flicking a smoke on the ground isn't dangerous unless it's very dry. Anyways who cares? The fuck does Australian fires have to do with Stephen King's Universe?
This show is struggling. Nothing really going on this week.
