Excellent review, buddies! We are completely in sync on all opinions regarding this kriegsmesser. Incredible, unbelievable value for the price. But even without ever considering the cost, it is amazing in its own right in every and each way! Love these reviews, keep doing what you do!
Thank you sir! I enjoyed both your review and Kyle's. Both videos were great with extensive info. I'm looking forward to the 2nd part of that colab! As well as your review of the Templar Arming sword.
nice review! sadly i cant get Balaur Arms or Lk Chen blades here in Germany 😢 the Import taxes would be too high....this particular Kriegsmesser reminds me of a one swordmaker Pavel Moc is making....🤔
Thank you! And that's a shame the import fees would be too high. I checked out your channel and saw that you have a messer from Landsknecht Emporium. How do you like it? I'm thinking about giving one of their messes a try. Thanks for watching!
Which ones do you have? I also have the BA/LK Chen Alexandria. I'm really impressed with both of them. I definitely wanna get more from this line. Thanks for watching!
@@UnsheathedSwordReviews I have the Alexandria and the German longsword! Both are excellent! My only complaints with the Alexandria is the leather (or faux leather?) Grip is already showing signs of wear very quickly and is kinda falling apart and the scabbard fit is very loose, and the steel of the metal throat/locket can touch the edge of your not careful and could dull the blade. But handling, sharpness, and quality are incredible, especially for the price!
@@coryjordan863 I agree with your criticisms of the Alexandria, mine has the same issues. But like you said the performance is fantastic. For the price I think it's a great sword. The German Longsword is the next one I'm gonna buy. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it.
@@UnsheathedSwordReviews the German longsword is very lively and light. I've had none of the scabbard fitment issues, and the leather rain guard on the sword is excellent for the thumb grip techniques so your thumb doesn't touch the blade, preventing rust and giving more grip. Also the grip feels like faux leather however it's been holding up better so far. Only criticism I have on that blade is the tip came a bit rounded and the edge by the tip on one side has a small chip, however those are minor issues, overall excellent, reminds of the Albion Crecy.
The kreigsmesser is the ultimate sword. The perfect refinement of late medieval sword design. May not be the most popular sword, but in effectiveness, it cannot be beat.
The Messer wasn’t a result of designing a blade with a specific combat function, it was to take advantage of legal loopholes prohibiting commoners and the like owning *swords*. Swords at the time being defined as having a blade with two cutting edges and a weighted pommel. Some clever person says : “Ok then. We play the semantics game.” And then proceeds to make a SINGLE edged weapon with a scaled handle- in the legal sense, a really big knife and within the letter of the law. The word messer actually means Knife in German. 1:11
As i know the reason for this Kriegsmesser was thet the ordanary people was not allowed to wear a sword. So they have made this "Messer" for non Knights (needs to be proved😅)
Sounds like the marriage of KoA’s Balaur Arms and LK Chen has been a smashing success.

Cool, that is the historical 'Beastmaster' sword.
Great review. Talking about how it compares to the Albion Knecht - my review, releasing this Friday, will feature quite a few comparisons.
Thank you! I'm looking forward to your review with Kane Shen. I'm very curious how it compares to the Knecht.
I can't wait to hear what that other $1000 buys you. I'm excited for your review!
@@jonhartz2136 It's released now on my channel.
@@alientude excellent. Checking it out now!
I wonder if the weight includes the scabbard. Though, your prototype theory makes more sense.
I had the same issue with my Regent Bowie from Kailash Blades. They told me to put mineral oil on the horn to stop the shrinking.
Thanks for the info and for watching!

The Alexandria is also very impressive. Thanks for watching!
I've been so interested in this blade, I have 2 other lk chen/Baular arms swords and they're great

Kreigsmessers are definitely unique and utterly badass swords. This one has made me want to buy more. Thanks for watching!
