I felt that Karl Urban really captured the essence of Dr McCoy extremely well. I almost hit the floor when I found out that he wasn't even American b/c he did the accent so well.
I love all the alcohol jokes. They really make me laugh every time I watch this interview. "As I was saying, before Karl interrupted... in a drunken stupor." Love it.
John's laugh at 0:30 sounds SO much like George Takei's, just a little faster! I KNEW he was a good Sulu! This interview is amazing. Love the "Eyebrow of Doom" Karl gives us @ 4:33! We used to kid about Spock & McCoy having eyebrow duel in TOS. Into the Darkness is already a hit. If you haven't seen it, do!
Interesting... Finding that spirit and funneling it through. xD He has been accused of channeling De. Props to you, Urban, you succeeded. And Cho did wonderfully as Sulu, too.
@KatieZCrAZyCasTZ Bones wasn't from Kentucky. They gave him DeForest Kelley's background, and the De was from Georgia. It's never said anywhere in the actual TOS series, but the majority of the novels and background place him in Atlanta. Hence "You ever tried a real Georgia-style Mint Julep?" This can be found in various places, including DeForest's biography, and the Memory Beta wiki :)

I got to see Karl a few years ago at a convention and he not only the sweetest guy, but very hot. I'm so glad he is in this film and that it's a hit.

Love it.
"you wanna do it solo... sulu?" KARL IS SUCH A BIG DORK
OMG, they are sooo cool and sweet, especially Karl!!!
They were both so good in the movie. The whole cast was great actually, and i can't wait for the sequel.
Okay wow I'm in love with Karl Urban.

I love the fact that Karl uses metaphors like McCoy...
God. I LOVE Karl Urban. He's so bloody underrated it's not even funny.
OH MY GOD KARL'S VOICE! It's so weird not hearing that Georgian twang BUT OH MY GOD, GOOD ACTING.
The interviewer lady was funny and it allowed them to relax a lot. Such a fun interview.

LMAO...i love the eyebrow raise!...so epic!!
These two are so funny together
THERE WAS LOVE-MAKING, Oh, John Cho. Oh, Hikaru Not-So-Solo.
And here we have the two biggest trekkies of the reboot. Also known as the most adorable dorks ever.
Sinbin he calls him Mr. Kelley out of respect to a talented man. I wonder if he was a McCoy fan. I read his portrayal brought Leonard Nimoy to tears.
I love John Cho! =]]
Atlanta, Georgia is McCoy's hometown
"That was erotic. Wow."
HAHA. John Cho is awesome.
Karl Urban is so talented. He should get more atttention!!!
Thanks....pal.....
@minervavlad I agree, the actors shouldn't have to lean into frame to be seen. It's the cameraman's job to make sure both of them are seen.
That is an insane eyebrow raise.
I almost choked on my fry when the interviewer was like, "Erotic."
But who am I to disagree with her?
The cameraman needs to go to cameraman school.
harold awesome

"When I was a child..."
"What, last year?"
vamp1024 nope, he's definitely from Georgia. Check your facts, bro.
He was from Tenessee, not Georgia.
@Sphynx1187 Actually, Bones was from kentucky...the new movie and old series...
who made that squeal/squawk noise when john mentioned the lovemaking?
favourite interview...thanks for posting this!!!!
HIS EYEBROW! *thud*
Curiosity about how Judge Dredd talks in real life brought me here....
4:43 "That is erotic"
OMG I think I just choked on my coffee!
Part 2 in now up
me agradaría que filmaran Doom 2 con Karl Urban
there was love making
great interview but the camara person is really bad. we want to see a 2shot! goodness.
i didn't know he was from new zealand. why are they always forced to hide their accents?
just out of curiosity
what's the sequel going to be like?
agreed
No the interviewer did.
when karl lifted his eyebrow, did john say that was erotic??? haha
He didn't the lady did who was interviewing them.
@higoshimaru Which one?
@jez35blue its quite epic...
John said it first though xD
Because Leonard McCoy is from Georgia, and not New Zealand :) The accent didn't fit the character.
@SheepRaen yea he is married
Wait, he grew up in Texas? I thought it was Cali? haha, maybe Im hearing wrong, hahaha.
Yeah... John is lucky! Damn it... :(
That's an insult to Karl. He is far sexier :)
"epiphany"
which one? i hope you mean karl. he is soooo damn hot!!!
I think seductive
"rebooting" = Hollywood for rape the franchise for all it's worth
Oh nooooooo, I clicked the dislike button by mistake! I didn't mean it - how do I take it back?!
LOL...so is this presenter what they call a New Zealand bogan???
