🇫🇷 Pour annoncer la réédition prochaine de ses deux premiers albums, Degiheugi dévoile le remix d’un de ses tout premiers titres phares "Un jour de printemps" il a lui-même revisité pour l'occasion. Sorti en 2005 et à l’origine très down tempo, il propose une nouvelle version qui prend cette fois des accents soul et afrobeats accompagnés de cuivres rutilants aux sonorités highlife. De quoi ramener le soleil dans vos écouteurs et prolonger un peu l'été.
Dès 2001, Degiheugi (D.J.E.J) consume du microsillon et fait rugir les platines dans une formation rap. Mais la sphère du hip-hop classique s’avère vite exiguë pour traiter les influx d’idées irriguant sans cesse son hémisphère droit. Collectionneur de sons, explorateur du sample idéal, Degiheugi part exhumer des pépites encore brutes, sommeillant dans les abîmes du Web et sous la poussière de vinyles marquant les décennies passées. Il réinvente l’art de fusionner ces particules sonores pour leur offrir une seconde vie au rayonnement atomique.
Imprégnés de featurings 5 étoiles (Chill Bump, Ceschi, Astronautalis, ASM, Hugo Kant...) et de beats au groove d’orfèvre, ces patchworks éclatants élargissent le champ magnétique des codes du trip-hop, et révèlent une musique chimiquement pure, gorgée de reflets soul, de spleen électronique et de fulgurances mélodiques.
Après 7 albums essentiels et 2 EP, tous célébrés par les rangs croissants de ses adeptes, ce beatmaker de l’ombre a franchi en 2015 le cap de la scène. De l’Europe à l’Australie, des premières parties de DJ Shadow aux plateaux communs avec Chill Bump, Smokey Joe & the Kid ou ProleteR, ses live greffent son et vidéo pour une expérience puissamment immersive.

🇬🇧 To announce the forthcoming reissue of his first two albums, Degiheugi unveils the remix of one of his very first hits "Un jour de Printemps" which he himself revisited for this special occasion. Released in 2005 and originally very downtempo, Degiheugi offers a new version which this time takes on soul and afrobeats accents accompanied by gleaming brass with highlife sounds. Enough to bring the sun back into your headphones and extend the summer a little.
From 2001, Degiheugi (D.J.E.J) consumed LPs and made the decks roar in a rap band. But the sphere of classical hip-hop quickly becomes cramped to handle the influx of ideas endlessly irrigating its right hemisphere. Collector of sounds, explorer of the ideal sample, Degiheugi sets off to unearth still raw nuggets, slumbering in the abysses of the internet and under the dust of vinyls marking the past decades. He is reinventing the art of fusing these sound particles to give them a second life with atomic radiation.
Impregnated with 5-star featurings (Chill Bump, Ceschi, Astronautalis, ASM, Hugo Kant ...) and beats with a goldsmith's groove, these dazzling patchworks expand the magnetic field of trip-hop codes, and reveal chemically pure music, full of soul reflections, electronic spleen and melodic flashes.
After 7 essential albums and 2 EPs, all celebrated by the growing ranks of his followers, this shadowy beatmaker took the stage in 2015. From Europe to Australia, from DJ Shadow's opening acts to joint stages with Chill Bump, Smokey Joe & the Kid or ProleteR, his performances combine sound and video for a powerful and immersive live experience.
On April 23, 2021, Degiheugi present his 8th album "Foreglow"with multiple influences, ranging from samba to Afrobeat through soul and French chanson.
After having reissued on vinyl the 8 albums composing his discography, French beatmaker Degiheugi presents his new project "Remixed Treasures" on April 21, 2023. It is the first remixed album in the producer’s career.
A project that bears its name well. Like seabed adventurers, the remixers have been asked to rework in their own way some of the most significant tracks of a career spanning more than 20 years. Starring L'Orange, Moderator, Souleance, iZem, The Architect, Senbei, Al Tarba, Mounika, DJ Vadim, La Fine Equipe, Kognitif, ProleteR and Scratch Bandits Crew.
