Protection largely depends on the weapon you are using. If you play with a melee turret it is very important to protect yourself against Tesla, Isida, Freeze and Firebird. Because the 1 X 1 combat will happen directly. I also consider it important in this case to protect yourself against Hammer, since depending on your hull he will kill you in an instant, if you have a blunderbuss or a doublet. In fact anything that can easily kill you with 1 shot needs protection, even more so if you are a light hull.

A small/medium map will certainly have more melee turrets, you should also look at which weapons the enemy team uses the most and place those protections. That's why it's important to have all the protections, but you should prioritize improving the main ones first.

Good list man. Personally I use the Wolf and Orka protections quite a bit because both turrets do a high amount of damage per shot when they do land one. Badger is a must for heavy hulls and cold immunity is a good option because as far as I know the freezing effect still removes double damage. Rico can end you surprisingly fast even without Helios. I think they don't really present a problem to you due to your being able to one tap/finish them off quickly with Crisis max. To the average player with an average drone going against a skilled Ricochet user, it can be extremely annoying. 100% agree with Scorpion being first, although I do believe swarm has been nerfed, the damage of the shots are still the same, aka extremely OP 😂 but what's new - every turret has that faze when it first gets released. Big like man 👍👍
Another thing is the type of game mode you play and usual turret trends. But usually nowadays it can vary from game to game... So around 10-11 mins left do an equipment change and put the right protection modules from what you see in the player list (TAB) (With gear score 9000 and up....especially 9999 GS) that will hurt the most. But it depends what play style you use during the match; what role and who you will fight most of the time. For example for Juggernaut... 2 slots (RAIL and STRIKER) the rest depend who is playing and what they use. Siege (Well Vulcan, Twins, and Tesla... pretty necessary if you fight at the CP (Control Point) ...these turrets do little damage but it adds up). Lately, yes Scorpion is used quite a bit; but I think this trend may fade with in a few months... I saw this with tesla last year. I was lucky to get armadillo from the tanki fund; slowly upgrading.... so you rank it 7. Well I think it helps with turret/alt that rely bigtime on critical hits. I’d say Tesla is a very relevant augment because practically all melee and short range turret tanks will lose in an neutral dogfight against a Tesla user.
Also even long range users need it because Tesla is easily one of the biggest problems for camper spawn trapping given that they can chain link and not expose themselves. I use Stun Tesla so Ik all these tactics on how Tesla is used to beat all these other turrets.

I use Twins and Tesla protection as the damage, dps and aim of those are quite good. You can dodge Freeze, Isida and Firebird easier because of the aiming systems and range so I wouldn't need protection for them. I also use Railgun protection for a bit of long-range and since I was able to use my Tank Coins on the Tanki Fund, I use Armadillo too universally. In regards to my playing style, I play offensive all the time but with longer-range turrets, I move around the middle of the map. I do get up close to other Tanks so I need shorter-range Protection and a bit of long-range whilst also protecting from Critical Shots for the icing on the cake to survive most attacks. It just depends on the playing style for everyone and the Meta is always changing.
i can see sometimes why its a good idea to use protection against 4 diff turrets instead of having armadillo in your 4th protection slot. striker remote is one of the top 7 augments for sure. some railgun and striker players are very skilled and can kill you even if u got protection.

I'd put mines higher. At higher ranks, people use saboteur and miner a lot which makes CTF, RGB, and ASL super annoying

Ever notice how Magnum kills you just flying close to you overhead without contact from the shell before impact?
Cool video but do not forget that around 50% of Railgun's damage comes from critical hits which Falcon module doesn't help at all.

No augment/alteration should ever be stronger than the base turret.
