The reason why so many people was moved by you EJ was because of how earnest, sweet-natured you were/are , you're like the boy next door who wasn't allowed to have a home. So you wandered and I as well 14 million other people love that you wandered in front of Mark's camera and that a life of purpose that you always wanted is now yours. I hope you keep dreaming and I wish they all come true; I want you to be happy forever. Love from Lucky in London :)
I like how genuinely this message was made and sent to EJ, it makes me think more about how people should be treated because one doesn’t know what they are currently dealing with until they decided to communicate, like EJ did.
EJ was acting. He was never in foster care, he wasnt on the streets as a minor, he knew good and well at the time of the original video that his medical history would prevent enlistment in any military branch, the name he gave is the initials of his sister and her boyfriend at the time who were letting him stay with them. His parents and stepparent are still alive, or were at the time of the video at least. He tried to pressure me into moving weed in an illegal manner until i ended the phone call (to save his own skin from his arrest) and talked shit to me when i refused again. The man who took him off the streets and set him up for his current success hired him as an escort. The channel knows he's lying and doesn't care because they got their poster boy.
After I turned 18 I signed myself out of foster care here in Canada to go live with relatives but after a few months I found myself homeless for the first time, it was scary, I had no choice to adapt to the lifestyle and learn to survive on the streets, I pandhandled everyday, my first priority was buying food, hygiene stuff, and other necessities that would last me a week and if I was lucky enough I'd get myself a motel room for couple or few days, most days panhandling was good but there were some days it wasn't and that was hard, after 3 years waiting on the social housing list I finally got a place in a nice 10 unit apartment building and the neighbors are good as well, I secured a full time job with a grocery store, I obtained my GED, promoted to Meats & Deli Supervisor, and I'm now a Department Manager for frozen foods, dairy, and fresh produce departments.. I'm 26 years old and life has been turning out good for me despite the beginning of my young adulthood, I have a common law wife now to, have a child on the way, and I will make sure my child will never experience what I had to go through in my early years, I will make sure my child will experience a childhood like any child should.
I just got off the streets of Seattle after living in cars for 15 years. My Brother built me and my dog a beautiful tiny house at his home! Pain demands to be felt. Once you feel the pain your life will change. Drugs don’t help you at all, they just dull the pain, which doesn’t help you feel the pain, it just delays the pain for later and in fact actually increases the pain you are going to have to feel. So feel the pain that you have right now, because it will only get worse if you wait.
@@Weightingtablesafter Yes! I actually remembered it from the movie version, but it’s absolutely true. Unfortunately we are taught growing up that we must avoid feeling pain at all costs, which guarantees that we have more pain in our lives. We need to stop this cycle.

And I talked to my best friend's mom who allowed me to stay at her house however the brother got very upset and took my paychecks every week so I stayed broke I had no money for nothing feminine products shampoo food Nothing. It's really hard to intend to end up moving in with the cousin they were smoking crack every week it was horrible horrible experience I'm autistic and attention deficit and that was something that I was not into but was forced into. My mom heard only to take me back only to kick me back out not even a day or 2 later that was the last time I I trusted my mom would help I had to drop out of the 10th grade and that I'm afraid ended up getting GED. By 19 I was gonna kill myself i couldn't find a reason to go on it was a horrible life. I had men in their 30s wanting to be with me when i was underage. Give me free cars and places to live but because I was molested in abuse at such a young age because my mom allowed the men to do whatever, I was scared and rather live homeless. Then in those 4 situations... That's where one of my biggest mistakes came when I get up getting pregnant. I went to college and got an AA. Only to be abused by the father I left him for someone else only to be abused by him I left him for someone else only to be abused and have another child by him. I ended up getting BA...blood, sweat and tears, no matter how hard I tried I could not change the abuse that was about to take place for me and my Children, I did leave after 10 years with cancer, A trash bag of clothes for my girls and nothing else. I ended up moving in with my cousin I couldn't get out of the bed 4, 6 months that's when we found out I had cancer. It was a surreal situation I was in my late 20s early 30s when this happened. I was able to make it out of that only to be continually abused by the last father of my child, because he continued to fight me for custody, Because he came from an influential family he was able to continually abuse me on the girls. My girls turned on me eventually calling CYFD stating that I was abusing them. You name it..they accused me, so they could tranp around-the-clock, After 12 calls I stopped counting. I finally left that town moved on and started to accelerate really well for myself, I taught special needs kiddos managed a coupke for stores. I worked none stop for years, bought a used car,, payed it off right away and got a loan for a house..which I have been in since 2019. Since than I was always renting rooms ..as the rent is crazy here with low pay. Both of my girls turned out to be addicts. One of food, alcohol.and drugs, she is trying to pull herself together and 1 is super addicted to fentynal and sex. I currently raise her son. Last year because all of the stress I almost passed away again and needed to have an emergency Hysterectomy I have carried God with me in my heart and have always still tried to be the best person that I could be and keep moving forward. EJ, you must have some stories to tell, I'm sure there is a book in you somewhere. You certainly have the charisma to tell a good story. Well done bro!!!!!
Let us all remember that it only takes ONE PERSON to help, to turn a life around! Bless this young man, with an entire lifetime ahead of him, and bless the person who turned around and came back to help him!!
I'm SO GLAD y'all brought up "being there" for drug addicts! This whole idea of "tough love" is a farse. As a former homeless woman and recovering addict of 20+ years, I didn't even feel like I COULD get sober, until I had someone there that believed in me, didn't judge me, and was there at all times even if I had relapsed or even just needed an ear. Tough love rarely works on addicts.
The idea behind tough love is to get others to accept the support of someone who “believes” in them…the goal is to believe in your relationship with God.
Daniel is incredibly inspirational. The majority of his life has been profoundly unsettling. How he was able to survive is an inspirational story and quite frankly, one that at times is painful to hear. I wish him continued success.
You are a great guy EJ. Maybe you could open a center for homeless youth. God loves you buddy. There is a mission for you. Start reading your bible and get the spiritual direction. Best of everything for you!

It's Great that he isn't homeless any more, but how did he get to where he is now? Nothing almost about that. Not that much "context" about that at all. That's to bad i think
Was homeless In Venice beach for 3 years. Now I live in Indiana and have my own house now and Great paying job and 2 vehicles and full custody of my child and living my best life.
Extremely likable guy. Wise, down to earth and high in empathy. Straight up empath. I'd love to spark up with him and talk about life. Unfortunately I can't use in moderation, but you get the idea lol. You're talented dude.
I hope seeing this is a reminder to everyone watching to be kind to the homeless. Even if you don’t offer them food or money, a friendly smile can go a long way also. What is insignificant to you, whether that be a few dollars or bags of groceries, can mean so much to them.
I always feel so awful smiling when I don't have anything to offer them. Their situation is nothing to smile about. My initial inclination is to smile until I think more about it.
I’m a university student but I usually feel less happiness and excitement than Daniel does... One of his quotes to remember: 11:55 ‘I’m trying so hard to be happy I’ve trained myself through all this time to just... you are happy, you’re gonna be happy, there are things around you that you can be happy about, even if no one else is doing it for you, you’re good.’ He’s such an inspiration 💛
Pain comes and goes, it's like being sick, it's only temporary. So when you do have a good day you need to really really remember to be grateful, to take notice of all those good things, and remember those feelings so that on your bad days your motivation to keep going can be knowing that you'll have those good days and good feelings again.... but no one ever has happily ever after and that's okay... its just up and down, but if you work really hard and create balance you can be down less often than usual
Having purpose and meaning enables you to have something to lean on when times are rough. Happiness comes and goes constantly so it's unwise to gauge your success on it. Just enjoy it when it happens. When you have a purpose in life, you have substance. A reason to get up in the morning.
Wow, Daniel is living proof that if you let go of everything you find what you need. Amazing life. Inspirational! Look at him! He’s a little Yin elf with an army of angels surrounding him.

So you wandered and I as well 14 million other people love that you wandered in front of Mark's camera and that a life of purpose that you always wanted is now yours. I hope you keep dreaming and I wish they all come true; I want you to be happy forever.
Love from Lucky in London :)
Beautifully written. Couldn’t have said it better myself if I had tried
@@monkeepox2227 From the ATL! Thank you Nigel, I hope that you're having good days over there :)
I like how genuinely this message was made and sent to EJ, it makes me think more about how people should be treated because one doesn’t know what they are currently dealing with until they decided to communicate, like EJ did.
Impeccably said 💕
EJ was acting.
I don't know you, but I'm rooting for you. I'm glad you have a new family of your own. Protect it at all costs.
Gob bless you. never give up never

“Pain demands to be felt” if my memory isn’t completely failing me, is this from a John Green book?
@@Weightingtablesafter Yes! I actually remembered it from the movie version, but it’s absolutely true. Unfortunately we are taught growing up that we must avoid feeling pain at all costs, which guarantees that we have more pain in our lives. We need to stop this cycle.
I can't stand any pain no more so i'd rather stay with drugs till i die
THIS right here is the golden ticket to mental and spiritual well being. Amen.
@@LoveIXTC You of course may do anything you wish, but please know that after you pass you will still have the same pain to feel. It doesn’t go away just because your body passes. Also know that it’s a lot easier to feel your pain while you’re still on earth than when you’re in the spirit world.
God bless him.

Holy crap man, mind sharing ur story? I m actually really curious
@@madImpulsiveTrader it's LONGGGG
I was living with my dad from 8213 I came back to live with my mom to New Mexico she started getting very abusive and beating me up continuously she was an alcoholic addict. I had it been back more than a month when she kicked me out on the street I was 13 gonna be 14 at the end of the summer I literally started sleeping outside park benches the mountains we live by the mountand friends cars staying out with friends in random friends house's couch surfing of course I was working at a grocery store.
I ended up getting BA...blood, sweat and tears,
no matter how hard I tried I could not change the abuse that was about to take place for me and my Children, I did leave after 10 years with cancer, A trash bag of clothes for my girls and nothing else.
Last year because all of the stress I almost passed away again and needed to have an emergency Hysterectomy
I have carried God with me in my heart and have always still tried to be the best person that I could be and keep moving forward.
You are a beautiful soul, thank you for sharing!

I hope seeing this is a reminder to everyone watching to be kind to the homeless. Even if you don’t offer them food or money, a friendly smile can go a long way also. What is insignificant to you, whether that be a few dollars or bags of groceries, can mean so much to them.
Yeah, go smile at a homeless person when they are asking for food/money. It won't look like you are looking down on them at all.
You're right. I've been there. You get so used to people looking down at you sometimes a smile goes a long way.
I always feel so awful smiling when I don't have anything to offer them. Their situation is nothing to smile about. My initial inclination is to smile until I think more about it.
I’m a university student but I usually feel less happiness and excitement than Daniel does... One of his quotes to remember:
11:55 ‘I’m trying so hard to be happy I’ve trained myself through all this time to just... you are happy, you’re gonna be happy, there are things around you that you can be happy about, even if no one else is doing it for you, you’re good.’
He’s such an inspiration 💛
