The Mortuary Assistant follows newly certified mortician Rebecca Owens, who accepts a night shift at a mortuary, embalming bodies alone after hours. As disturbing events escalate, Rebecca uncovers demonic rituals, the dark secrets of her enigmatic mentor, and her own buried trauma-racing to survive the night before her body becomes a vessel for possession.
The Mortuary Assistant stars Willa Holland, Paul Sparks, Mark Steger, Shelly Gibson, Keena Ferguson Fraiser, and more. The film was written by Tracee Beebe and Brian Clarke. The Mortuary Assistant was produced by Patrick Ewald’s Epic Pictures via the Company’s horror division, Dread, Cole Payne’s Traverse Media and Jacob P. Heineke. Executive producers include Brian Clarke, Katie Page, Yulissa Morales, Randy Sinquefield, Patrick Fischer and Oliver Garboe.
The Mortuary Assistant is in theaters on February 13 and streaming on Shudder on March 27.

When Clue came out with its three endings they played a different one at each showing so you never knew which one you'd get. Then released the VHS with all three. That would ROCK if they did that with this one

I so hope there's easter egg scares where it's in the background and the movie doesn't actually acknowledge it, so it's just for the audience to wonder if they saw it right or not

oooh i hope they keep some of the mimic/pale guy bits in, him just quietly existing and staring from random spots until we directly looked at it were the bits that got me the most in the game
I hope they have the small visual jumpscares of the demon on top of the cabinets (early in the film) that just disappears and you as the player/observer sometimes don't even notice it

Studios finally realizing that game concepts are so much better and original than the same old themes. Movies like Hardcore Henry shot 100% in POV mode should make a comeback - that movie was insane and felt like gaming!

There's no way you can convince me this would have been possible without the FNAF movie(s) and Markiplier's devotion to making Iron Lung come to life.
And, because there's multiple endings for this game, I think it would be fun for them to make the ending availability similar to 'Clue', where you didn't know which ending you'd get in theaters until you saw the movie.
Admittedly, I'm not likely to see this (in theaters, if at all) because I don’t like scary movies, but that doesn't make me any less excited for these niche/indie/little known video games to get some love. I hope it does fantastically, and that more small titles/source material like this get the attention they deserve. ❤

Doing my apprenticeship for Funeral Directing/Embalming the game made my eye twitch with the inaccuracies, but I still got all of the achievements. Suppose I’ll have to see this with my fellow embalmers.
I thought that at first but I was reading behind the scenes and the creator said he combined current mortiary practices with old-school embalming and medevil torture methods to make it scarier!

One of the most terrifying games I’ve ever played. The whispers in your ear, catching the mimic out of the corner of your eye-it really gets under your skin. I’m glad they stuck to the story. Hope it does well.

@briangatt2956I was horrified to play it. Quit four times like a coward before yelling I'm fine, I'm brave into the void. The Mimic jumpscares me straight into the afterlife and at the EXACT. SAME. MOMENT. Our dog activates sneak mode, walks in while I’m playing in the DARK, and TOUCHES ME. COLD. CONTACT. I saw my ancestors. I accepted my fate. Windows shut down. After being resurrected and reloading my soul, I realized it was actually fun… Got all the endings.

@AMFC215no I beat it just fine I just thought it was overrated honestly like I grew up watching horror movies and playing horror games that scared me than this like condemned criminal origins,the evil within,dead space 2 definitely got jumpscared a lot of times with the necromorphs randomly bursting into a hallway in the hotel area
@MrRobeStern64 Love all those. Yeah, maybe it's a bit meh if you're used to the horror genre. I mostly saw it as a puzzle game, don't remember being scared at all while playing it but loved it anyway.

I remember at one point they were going to make a movie for it. Ken Levine had a stipulation that he had final say on the project, and if the script wasnt up to his standard, he could outright cancel it. Ken kept vetoing until they eventually just axed the whole thing. It always baffled me, at least at the time. After seeing his development process with Judas, I get it now.
