A Comprehensive Chinese Pronunciation Demonstration: Reading All Existing Pinyin Syllables

  • Welcome to Day 6 of our "7 Days to Learn Chinese Pinyin". In this video, I demonstrate to you all exiting Chinese Pronunciation (all possible pinyin syllables) with four tones. If you are new to Chinese, you can use this video as ultimate Chinese pronunciation practice material. Tones are too included to emphasize the melody within four tones so that it would be easier for beginners to get used to and better at tones in Mandarin Chinese.
Here I would like to share three pinyin tables you can find online and use for free (with my opinions of their pros). All these pinyin tables include audio recordings.
    1. ChinesePod:
chinesepod.com/tools/pronunci... (Links to an external site.)
Pros: this pinyin chart groups all the pinyin syllables into sections by certain similarity
    2. Arch Chinese:
www.archchinese.com/chinese_p... (Links to an external site.)
Pros: Some pinyin syllables with certain tones do not exist in Mandarin Chinese. For example, le with third tone does not exits in Mandarin Chinese. Arch Chinese excludes pronunciation like this.
    3. Yoyo Chinese:
    www.yoyochinese.com/chinese-l...
Pros: Yoyo Chinese include instructional videos for the pinyin syllables that are difficult to pronounce for Chinese learners.

Savannah, I thought I’d share with you how I have been using your videos.
24 July 2021 I started a daily drill of going through your PinYin Chart with me repeating all four tones.
4 August I included your Tone Combos as a part of my daily drill.
13 August suddenly I am able to hear the clear differences between the tones and able to voice them them as well!
16 August I also included your Differentiate Similar Pronunciations in my daily drill - that's a nice touch!
Today, 28 August 2021 I continue my daily drill with all three videos. I increasingly hear more in the sounds and so am able to hone my pronunciation. I think from this daily drill I should be able to establish a solid foundation for my speaking, so I intend to continue it a while longer. My language exchange partner has noticed a stepped improvement in my speech.
I cannot thank you enough for your hard and skillful work. It’s much appreciated. And it's free. Thank you! And good luck in your teaching career!

@@WatermelonWhatThe My sounds and tones continue to progress. Occasionally, however, like today, I come back and repeat this chart to fine-tune my pronunciation. But, for sometime now, I’ve increased the playback speed to 1.5 because I find the ‘normal’ speed much too slow and I find 1.5 about right. When I first started I thought normal speed was so fast. This video is PRICELESS! Thank you so much! I plan on practicing this every day as I am having a hard time telling the difference between certain pinyin. For example: t and c, q and ch.

    • @keystochinese0921
      @keystochinese0921  3 года назад +10

It would be helpful to identify the key difference between them. For instance, comparing to q, ch is a curling tongue pronunciation. You should be able to hear tongue curling when listening to pinyin with ch in it. And of course, a lot of practice and input 😊 加油!
