Glenary's Restaurant & Bar has long been a Darjeeling landmark.
This two-story white building on Nehru Road, just a minute's walk from the Mall, is special and dear to many Darjeeling residents. The restaurant is over a century old and was founded during the British colonial period. Today, it is privately owned by the Edwards family of Darjeeling.
If you've been to Glenary's Bakery & Cafe, you've probably heard about their legendary breakfasts. Everything with the famous Darjeeling tea, from sandwiches to rolls to pizzas and cakes! If you have to leave Glenary's for any reason, return in the evening for a very interesting and romantic alfresco dining experience. From the balcony open dining area, you can look at people, but here's a better idea: look at the Darjeeling city view.
Glenary's is one of Darjeeling's most recognizable landmarks for those who are unfamiliar with it. Glenary's has been around since the British Raj and is well over a century old. Though it wasn't always known as Glenary's. It was originally known as Vado. Glenary's changed hands after India's independence, and the name was eventually changed as well.
Glenary’s divided into sections. Glenary's Bakery and Cafe is on the ground floor. The Buzz Bar is located in the building's basement. The first floor houses the main restaurant and bar. There is also an outdoor terrace with a roof that can be accessed from the right end of the dining room. This terrace was recently added and is extremely popular with tourists. This is an excellent spot for alfresco dining with views of the mountains and Darjeeling Township. At one end of the terrace, a wooden stairway leads down to the open terrace of Glenary's Bakery on the ground floor.
Glenary's, like Keventer's, is an experience for us. Glenary's cakes and pastries are always a favourite of ours. A visit to Glenary's is a must for all Darjeeling visitors. Glenary's gets a lot of customers, so you might as well make some new friends while you're there!

At present Glenary's tea quality is not good .and in resturant rice is very bad quality..Butter chicken is not good.
