It's a fantastic microphone. I've heard it with great speakers and extremely good professional vocalists. Incredible! It was over $200 back when it was still made. With female, lead and tenor vocals it is one of the best there has been
comparing this mic to similar form factor and use cases mics on your channel. this is clearly the best one. it just sounds like a human being talking to me, not someone talking through a mic. WAY clearer. this is a completely underrated marvel
Holy crap. I was JUST looking at one of these on eBay like 2 min ago while looking for a boundary mic and you drop this. Def dont get the scale from pics that have no frame of reference. The shure KSM32 is an electret too and one of the most even mics you can get. That sounds fantastic! $50 is a steal for that.
A hypercardoid, glad you're testing one...I really like this mic. At the price and in the condition you bought it, well done! Once again, for the education of poor novices (of which I am one), especially for those who cannot decide on the purchase of a microphone, you should make hyper-super and cardoid micro comparisons to explain the advantage and disadvantage of these, such as the advantage that we have the super and hyper cardoid in an untreated room (I understood it in my case) or the repercussion of sound when using a mechanical keyboard ... But it's true that like all novices, we will never think of going to watch videos on Utube to understand what a microphone is before buying it and its consequences on the sound either on a gaming station or a workstation in an untreated room... It's like when you buy your first PC, we're all idiots (bad power supply, we take the cheapest, a small processor and a big graphics card) ... A bm800, a mixer with USB, an articulated arm for $18, and we cry afterwards. Nice job! Love you! 👍
Electrets gained a bad rep when they first appeared in the early 70's - and for good reason then, although now they are just fine - except they cannot have as good of a signal-to-noise ratio as a true condenser with a 90V power supply to the diaphragm. That little mic reminds me of the Audio-Technica 813 from the early 80's, although that mic was more normal-sized. They were great-sounding electret mics that ran off phantom power or batteries, and guess what they are now, Bark? They're OBSCURE....
The new shure nexadyne I recently reviewed is really good Audix OM5 There’s some Electro Voice mics with a slide off handle sleeve, those are good The Se v7 I seem to remember being impressed with Earthworks mics are known for fantastic handling noise rejection too

I can imagine it is indeed great for female vocals

Absolutely is. I just used it again as the opener to another small diaphragm condenser video

I always forget about the KSM32
A keeper for sure. I think it sounds really good on your voice. Great find!
Agree 100%
What a beast for its size. And a bargain too. You"ve done well.
🥲
The 240 pro is the best mic I own by far, but the sm7 is just so much easier to use. Great review as always
If you have those two mics…I believe you are set!
Yeah, that's a keeper. Nice find!
There’s a few on reverb for $55 right now

It makes it look like you have giant hands. When you hold it, it looks so small. That might be what she had said.
It is very likely what she said lol

"I really love all the small things." -she never actually said this.
