I’m not jamaican and I live in nyc so I fell good to see a real Dancehall artist getting interviewed on a major channel ... it was big for masicka because he is an underground artist... is not the first time they interview a dancehall artist ... Vegas,Sean Paul,Konshens,and others been there.. for someone like me who listens to real dancehall I never expected to see masicka

Anyone with common sense would understand what Nightly Fix was saying. The point is for a dance hall artist to get so much ovarrated, exaggerated publicity for just been on Fox 5 its totally stupid. Loads of Jamaican artist been on that stage before and done it. Yes it was an achievement for Masica but nothing more than an interview. And it was a short ok interview. Nothing to go crazy over.

Lending my perspective here. I am an American(Jamaican father) born and raised in NYC. Good Day NY is one of the top morning shows in the largest media market in the US(and in the world). As a fan of dancehall music and culture with Jamaican and American roots, I have longed for the time where dancehall could be viewed in the US on a greater level and given consistent recognition. It was a big deal as a fan to see Masicka on that platform when its so easy for American media to ignore dancehall.Meanwhile, US music w Dancehall elements and influence often does well and gets coverage here. I like yall but this video sounds like you are pulling negatives from a positive experience.
Jamaicans are proud because him coming from far, remember Demarco called him a iron balloon remember he was a underground artist for years and this interview shows that him fly pass alot of them who seh he wasn't gonna reach anywhere. What kinda video this unu drop fam.

I don't get it, is it Masicka or Fox 5 you guys making fun of?, i'm not a fan of Masicka but I was proud to see him on Fox representing the culture. I like some of his music but I cant stand to see him perform, him and a lot more artist with big hits cant perform to save their lives. My point here is; Nightly Fix that was a wrong move but I'll still support you guys.
Even tho I may somehow disagree with nightly fix try to downplay masicka and alkaline fox 5 appearance, I still think they have a point about people trying to over react to masicka and alkaline FOX 5 appearance. Chronixx appeared twice in the late night show with gimme fallan which is far bigger than fox 5 and Chronixx didn't get half the hype given to alkaline and masicka.
I've never really liked the nightly fix team and how they do things. Its always some kind of shade coming from them. It's as tbough they think they are better than ppl and only certain Jamaicans can go certain places. Where I am in Canada Jamaicans are known but not so much. So when an interview like that goes viral come on it "FOX" people get curious and ofcourse start searching for the music. They should know better. That interview gave Masicka a platform people know him and them know Jamaica. That alone made me proud. It goes to show that being a uni graduate doesnt make u reason with sense.

To add, they had the president of fox 5 live phone call on the show a fee days ago "that goes to show" but if this is how you guys going to behave breaking others down I will unsubscribe to your channel.
Masicka's interview did not make me feel "national pride," nor did it make me embarrassed to be Jamaican. I simply felt happy for the young man and wish him continued success. He carried himself very well and good for him. That's all.
