I was born and raised in Dubai and let me tell you this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to exotic animals being sold. I am a firm believer that wild animals belong in their rightful habitat and NOT in cages. Sure some of the cages are clean and maintained well, but it's quite sad to see overcrowding in some of them as well. Its all about the status you hold and how well you can 'flex' that, which started the exotic trade. I have visited this place a few times and truly feel for all the animals that are caged up for days. The ones that get sold are considered the 'lucky ones' because God only knows what happens to the ones that aren't sold. When asked, every store owner says the same thing "they go back to the farm". It is just heart breaking to see this being done in one of the most developed countries in the world.
None of these animals is lucky. Who knows who buys these and if the owners will provide a suitable habitat for them. I highly doubt that you can cover the needs of most of these animals in a desert like Dubai. And for each sold animal, another will be "produced" on farms or taken from the wild under cruel circumstances. How can anyone think it's a good idea to buy dogs from puppy mills in Ukraine, separate them from their mothers and transport them over thousands of miles to a desert?! I don't want to know how many animals die before they even reach the shop windows.
@@foxy3711 exactly!! God knows what happens to the ones that dont get sold... i really do not like thinking about it. And on top of that they do the same for exotic animals, where does it end ? This is what tourists should know about Dubai, instead of thinking about the luxury buildings and cars.
Something doesn't feel right knowing you can buy a owl, technically a predator animal, for less than some breeds of dogs. Then see it caged up knowing how much space it needs AND the fact it's probably gonna die from stress.
I only frown upon the people keeping animals that they know are unhappy. Conservation by commercialization is key. With out these animals in captivity a disease could wipe out wild populations over night and we'd have no way to help. Also before you say let zoos keep them there's not enough zoos to save them all and most zoos rely and private keepers for their information.

It’s one thing to see them in Zoos or Sanctuaries; however, I feel like a majority of the Animals you showed us aren’t supposed to be in our Homes.
Why are you on this guy's channel? All he does is keep exotic animals, with most being wild-caught.
@@Maspets if you can create a suitable Environment in your home for those Animals, then I don’t have a problem with it; however, most People don’t have that kind of money because you’re talking about spending over $100,000-1,000,000 on their Environment alone.
Also a lot of those Animals are captured from the Wild and they are not domesticated. Domestication can stress Animals out too and they can have shorter life spans.
@@shinyluckfairy "Domestication can stress Animals out too" Wth does this even mean? And I just told you his animals are wild-caught, I doubt he only gets aquacultured fish and corals.
Are you joking? I wouldn't need $100k to care for every animal in this video combined.
It’s not fear they can’t be free😡😡😡
The only animals that should be at home are cats and dogs the rest should be free
In Australia where I live it is Illegal to sell dogs at pet stores
The biggest animals/animalstuff storec chain in sweden dont sell animals or fish anymore. Thats the right way 2 go..
@@vera3573 Definitely, chains can be VERY useful for some equipment people can't get very often, but many just do not do well with living things even feeders some times.
Where do you even buy them then?
I genuinely cried watching this video. I can't even walk in a pet store without getting upset :( I wish all these animals could go to good homes
I debated not watching this for that reason.
It was sad when he said the birds have giant enclosure but in my opinion that is the bare minimum.
it’s sad but that’s an overreaction
jajaja 🤣 i love it, so?
Good. Cry again
Seeing the snakes made me tear up..
I sold my collection of 12 beautiful ball pythons about a year ago, and I ended up selling them for a fraction on what they are worth cause I sold them to a pet store.. I miss them more than anything tbh.
Can i ask u somthing is it true ball pythons like thight spaces
@@xandervanoevelen2401 Sure they may like a hide or a safe space in a decent sized enclosure but they don’t like being so cramped they can barely move
My Neighbour in Canada has a big red Macaw Perrot and she’s only aloud to have it if she wills it down to someone because they live so long they will outlive you most likely.
I'm gonna go there soon can't wait
12:16 I think that's a nicobar pigeon. Googling "dodo closest living relative" will bring up this bird.
Dubai has the coolest stuff
9:46
That smile can tell so many things, 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The grabbing the ferrets buy the tail made me want to cry but otherwise most of there seem better the I expected starting this video :P
oh also Flemish giant rabbits are not German, they are from Belgium.
I have owned 13 ferrets. If they aren't held when small, they will bite. That is why he holds them by the tail. I have seen the damage that ferrets do to people.
They have to be held as babies or they won't make a good pet.
@@janettesweet6087 Oh I know what they can do... one time I thought my kits where ready for me wearing socks in the house...oh boy was I wrong 🤣
Still I don't think that risking spinal damage is the solution to not getting bit.
14:00 that’s actually a giant black squirrel
Most of those animals are in too small of enclosures. The pythons definitely need larger enclosures.
Yes
9:45 "I love my job" LOLOLOL HIS EXPRESSION
Those dog kennels are far cleaner than any one I’ve been to so im sure it’s all good. As for everything else, people own big cats and far crazier things in Dubai.
The dogs probably come from puppy mills though
Omg that bird is cool man
Always a pleasure to see you and your wonderful videos George! 🤗
Nice documentary.. i like it
I heard/read that most exotic animals are illegal to own in Dubai, so idk how or to who most of these are being sold to…?
News flash! People break the law! Who woulda thunked it.
@@DeezNuts-hf2xm What I’ve seen it’s “normal ppl”, maybe middle class families that mostly shop there, it’s very strict and if u don’t follow the rules n laws in Dubai the consequences are very problematic for u. Hence why I think that it must be some really specific animals that they count as ”exotic” cause I don’t think the ”normal” family would take any risks.
This is the most highly regulated market in Dubai. If you want a tiger or monkey you go elsewhere.
I read somewhere they smuggle them in through Egypt I think
It’s Dubai they don’t care if you do this stuff, it’s not seen as a “real crime” there
LOL MY FRIEND DAVID IS A BIRD LOVER LIKE HES OBSESSED 😅
Where's the cheeta you showed in your thumbnail?😑
You have the coolest channel on RUclips. I love love love your channel.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
2:52 Meerkat looks sad😔😔
training the bird to come back so it “runs away” when you take it home after spending so much
Don’t clickbait. Now you have to get into a car with a tiger instead of a cheetah. An adult tiger.
That'd be fun
Not because of the eating, because of imagining a Tiger in a seatbelt
Looking forward to this series mate, looks good already!
I see that some of the animals in this video look like they are wild caught because of their behavior and health which makes me heart broken 😞
Of course they are but consider the death toll inflicted by domestic cats in your own country..millions of wild birds killed due to selfish cat owners that let them out of the house. Fortunately some countries are now imposing fines on cat owners if they let they out.
@@eal1 that's also very bad and as a person who keeps outdoor pets that worries me but luckily I live now in a apartment
@@eal1 I never recommend anyone to let their cats outside because the cat can also get injured
@@_invertico_ I'm glad you keep your pets indoor now. I fking hate when people let their cat roam free outdoor then cri when their cat get hit by a car or get poisoned by something.
@@dewantoroo well the quails live in the balcony but very safely.
waaaaayyyyyyyyy better then any wet market
So sad to see animals 😢 😞 💔 😔 😪 living in that condition 💔💔💔💔
If it was me, I would stage a rescue operation and bring these exotic animals to sanctuaries around the world.
Lol they would capture more
yes this is horrible.
.
Maybe concentrate on diminishing domestic cat ownership in your country. Do you know how many millions of wild birds a year they mame and kill? Don't worry about 5 meerkats, take on the bigger issues in your country regarding pet ownership and the devastating consequences cats inflict.
Most sanctuaries have to deny hundreds or thousands of wild animals like this a year because they don't have the room to give them proper care. This is a huge issue in the US also. People won't stop destroying wild animals lives out of selfishness
Places don't necessarily have room for more animals.
great video man
I haven't really seen an comment about the condition of the reptiles. Most of them definitely need bigger cages and uvb lighting. The feeding rats didn't look healthy so the snake could also get sick. Honestly it seems like something you see at reptile expos in the Netherlands and those last a day or two.
I didn't see any sick or injured reptiles though.
Ye, unfortunately feeder rodents aren't bred for health, but thankfully for a lot of reptilians UVB isn't a necessity for living, so we can only hope they get the proper care to allow as many chances to thrive with whoever gets them.
You found the place, great connections.
Poor animals 😔 so many of those need to be left in the wild
most of them are imported from either UK, France or Holland. so tell them to stop breeding them and world will stop buying them
And what about his exotic fish??
@@Maspetsthe pet trade has so many captive bred fish most exotic fish aren’t even an issue to the environment
@@foxesproject5031 Most MAMMALS are not an issue for the environment. More of them are captive-bred. The VAST majority of marine fish in the trade are wild-caught.
@@Maspets marine fish, but freshwater ( fish I’m most Experianced in ) are commonly captive bred or responsibly caught from the wild
I really waited for your next upload, from the Philippines
There's a place in Manila, Philippines called Cartimar where there are lots of stores selling pets like these but the living conditions of the pets in some of the stores are not as prestine.
Say what you want about Dubai, I have yet to go in a fish store not selling plecos to kids with a 10g aquarium or smaller with no issue.. let’s fix our own problems before we start to talk crap about other countries
You can judge two things at once. Just because america has some issues of it’s own doesn’t mean the clear issues here should be ignored
@@ztlabraptor211 Yes, but Aprilla’s point is that when you get self-righteous about judging a foreign country for issues that exist in our very own county you tend to exempt your country from accountability because you think the “other guy” is doing a worst job.
This isn’t quite the same as caring about two different things at once. This is about distracting ourselves from our reality but judging others.
@@guy8646 that logic would only apply if this video were about issues in America and someone said “country B is much worse” as a way to excuse or distract from it.
This is a video directly about Dubai… so why wouldn’t people be addressing the issues present in the video ? Also while America does have plenty of issues, especially in terms of things like puppy mills, it’s pretty strict when it comes to purchasing exotics
so cool👍👍👍👍
It's unfortunate that this was a great opportunity to shine a light on the illegal pet trade, wildlife trafficking, and zoonotic disease but the message of the video is that these establishments operate in good faith and that people should visit/buy from them when that is the last thing they should ever do.
True. It's his easy way out for a content creator. Maybe they paid him for keeping his mouth shut, or he really is that blind and dumb.
Amazing video ❤😊
ehh, still better practices than petco
For the dogs and cats it’s basically the same kennels as in a shelter
stuart little was a gerbil, i had some as a child good pets. my sister kept chinchillas.
suger gliders are bad as pets they get really stressed
love hyasenth macaw, they were extinct in the wild, but are being re introduced thanks to europiean breeders, mostly in germany
I’ve never seen a bird like that before
Pigeon: u dumb bruv 😂
I don’t understand how you can promote those kind of shop. Even if you say owners love their animals, it’s just animal cruelty
really? cruelty? bit much.
@@nwyk153 I’m sorry but seeing this amont of birds in one cage (same for fishes), the hyacinth macaw is an endangered species that has no place in a pet store, did you see the behavior of meerkats in the first store, they put squirrels just next to snakes which only stresses them because they can be their prey,…. And I’m not talking about dogs and cats in their jars. So I’m sorry but I think the term cruelty or abuse is appropriate in this situation.
3:52 it's so cute why is it dancing 😂
Wow, this is INCREDIBLE!!! If done poorly, that place could've been a huge disaster - Glad to see that the animals looked happy!
Fun fact, Toucans and Aracaris are some of the only exotic birds you can legally own in California and most other states :) They make great pets, and are usually not very expensive!
Cam we appreciate the fact he basically said that he will try to show us everything in case we are interested in odd things!
Beautiful animals
That's so cool
They have exotic animal auctions in the United States and sell toucans and so many other animals you'd never even think to own as a pet. There's also a exotic animal selling website. They had hyenas for sale a few weeks ago. You had to have a zoo or animal park license but you can still buy weird animals on it. Several years ago they had a pregnant giraffe on it.

@@foxy3711 Didn't George express concern for the animals in this video?
Wow bird from Nepal is so beautiful❤
Abuse of the scraps of what’s left of the wild world. Bonus points that it seems like a great way to start a new pandemic. Wonderful…
Well, looks way cleaner and the animals look way more healthier than what is displayed and sold here in the US.
Hi am first ✨❤️ I love your videos
I love that dog and cats
Awwwwwww!!! The bengals & spaniels are amazing (saw 2 English cocker spaniel pups).... & I actually had a red earred slider! She started out tiny, like the ones in the vid, but she got biiiiiiig, fast ( & I mean, she weighed around 6 pounds, full grown).
Wow💖
That's incredible ❤️.
Omg 😆
The ringnecks are such cute birds. I had a blue one and a green one. They’re such funny little creatures. Omg the puppies. They’re all so happy ❤ I would have scooped the corgi and a shiba. 😍 And I probably would have taken the meerkats to get them outta the pacing little box. 😢
Those are some of the cleanest , well kept pet stores I ever seen.. and the animals looks like they are well taken care of. Cleaner then some here in the states.
- 6:22 As soon as they're sold they get replaced so it doesn't even help. What helps is not supporting pet shops that actually sell *PETS !!*
Amazing sotores there ! 💪👍
In Bangladesh it's normal to see a Bengal cats in street and even though I have one yep that's true
They look well cared of and are tame

I don’t think I’ve seen so many varieties of snakes in one store
Some of those patterns are super hard to come by in the US
