Seen a lot of vintage Lawn Boy mowers but only ever saw this one in a catalog probably 32 years ago. A treat to see a real one operate. How cool. Very, very nice work.
@@Suddenlyits1960 I was a teenager 33 years ago now. The catalog I saw this one displayed in was already a 30+ year old catalog back at that time in the power equipment shop where I worked. So yes, early 1960 is correct.
I just got me one of these lawn boys but I do have a question how does the choke on and off work when I took the engine cover off there's one single wire that comes from the where the coil and points are I'm not sure where the wire connects to can you help?
when you turn the engine off with the choke I was wondering how that works cause on mine there's a wire that's not hooked to anything I don't know we're it connects to just wondering if the wire grounds out the engine and knowing where it connects to
What exactly is the color of these? I have a 1960 Lawn Boy Automower 8210a and trying to decifer the exact color or close to it.. Gold but yet it looks more bronze.
Nice restore Charlie! That's one beautiful mower. Talk about a rare piece, I've been into Lawn Boys for 30 some years and I have owned dozens of them but never even seen a Quietflite in person. What a cool machine, so neat to see one restored and running like its brand new!
I’d really like to find one of these to use. In your other video you mentioned you sell on eBay. How much would you ask for a quietflite? I like the blue model the best but would love to have any of them.
@@wg7644 I have no idea, it came in late 2019, I have many restoration work orders and can't remember details of the box condition, we always ship in a new one.

32 years ago? I thought they quit making this model in the early 60’s?

Beautiful work! NOTHING like the sound of a REAL(2-stroke) Lawn-Boy. The official sound of Summer!
The engine on that one was really clean - wished we could have seen under the cowl.
What a beautiful restoration charlie! Just beautiful! Please keep restoring them and giving them a second life!
B E A utiful! And I was happy to get my 1984, 2156 running today lol. Well done, very nice!
Ahhh that feeling of accomplishment. It tickles a bit
I love the old girl, just picked up a 1957 5100 just got it running today.
Wow that is beautiful! Sounds amazing! Thanks so much for sharing!
Beautiful! I searched this mower as the history on Lawn Boy's site has no images so far in the timeline.
You should do a sound meter test and compare it to a standard model. Doesn't sound much quieter.
Damn.
Nice restoration on a very rare and interesting mower.
We had one when I was a boy. Wasn't too impressed with it then. Wish I had it now. 2 snaps held the hood on.
Great job on the restoration
That’s beautiful, I’d love to find one someday.

It's under the flywheel.

by the way beautiful restoration wish I can make mine like that lol
What a unique machine and a beautiful restoration. I have never seen one of those before. 👍😎
Is the cover plastic?
Fiberglass

Well you're in the right direction. I call it antique brass.
@@CharlieMack thank you
it looks like my old portable toilet🤣

It's funny it's called a quiet flight and the SOB is loud as hell haha
Nice work

I don't have any of those, they were sent to me only for restoration, yes I sell on Ebay! My Ebay name is "312charliemack
Thanks. If you find one I’d be interested in buying it. Have you ever worked on the original Snappin Turtles?
Did this one come out of Springfield Missouri?
No idea it was sent to us for restoration, when it came in the condition was poor. The tag could reveal the model number.
@@CharlieMack did come packed with polystyrene around the perimeter of the box?

How many were sold like this
Good question, we think lawnboy only made this a couple years, so there's not many, we don't know exactly.
Oh just wondering cause I have 1 was new may 1959 the owner wrote it in the book when he got it still starts 1 pull
Could you please date my second lawn boy it’s a model 8237With an F series engine
Its showing to be 1978
Charlie Mack thank you
Nice
