- Have you considered using he Boss Cube Street 2 for Bass? If so, this might be the video for you!
With an incredible feature set, insane portability and the ability to run on AA batteries, this seems like the PERFECT travel amp. And as I'm travelling off-grid, it looked like the only sensible option.
Join me as I plug my bass into it for the very first time. This is a very hands-on, first-try video so don't expect any tech specs etc. Rather see what my first reactions are and how I manage to navigate the unit without any prior knowledge of it.
Scott.

Came for the review, stayed for the playing. Bravo sir 👏
Great Vlog,Your playing is incredible on this little Amp well done.
Getting one this week for some beach gigging. Great demo, beautiful bass playing and very impressed with the nice ambience added by the reverb…Looks like the app and Bluetooth adaptor are essential…even still, the delay out of the box sounded amazing on your brilliant slap sequence…Your playing really highlights the rhythmic possibilities using it as it exists. Your playing is an incredible demonstration on how to not turn delay into a train wreck…
well done. you are a very good player, very melodic bass player.
Great review thank you.
Love my original CS, so much, I bought the CS2. I have had the bass through it, but turned the bass setting down a bit on the unit. Works OK if you only want to hear near enough to the sound for practice.
Mine sounded like yours did, but I put mine through the 2nd channel. Tried the tuning meter...didn't do enough so went back to my old trusty meter. All in all, it's a great little amp.
Gracias desde Colombia, nice video!
I've used the larger EX version a few times and it was great for a impromptu beach band jam.
Delay playing was amazing
YAY SCOTT IS BACK
Your playing is quite good and the amp sounds fantastic with the bass. Imagine, an amp that sounds good with both guitar and bass. HOWEVER, as I understand it, while the speakers may handle the load for awhile, at some point they will fail running the bass through it. It would seem to me to be perfect dual purpose amp if they would equip this amp with bass speakers! I would likely buy one then to add to the collection.
THNXX!!
Hey Scott/Jan - bit different from the Bass Cabin :) Hope the road treating you both well x
I like your playing, even I don't know abcd about Base Guitar Bravo sir
Hey Scott. Great playing. I want to buy this both as a busking guitar and bass amp. Since this is not a strict bass amp is there a risk of blowing out the speakers with higher volume ?
hi,thanx for this video,so,it's more power that micro cube rx? is worth to buy it for play bass solo?i tried a first roland street cube and it was terrible for bass, better the EX 50 watt but too much expensive...thanxx!!
nice little amp.
Can you put it on a speaker stand???? I am a singer who uses a wireless microphone and backing tracks on the phone (wired). But I need to be able to easily access the controls. Do you know the dimensions? And what about the batteries, doesn't seem to have an internal battery!
dude if you're going anywhere near the sw( like near agen/villeneuve) you can come by and have a jam. i got my studio with a kit amps pa etc.
planning to buy one for my guitars A and E
What is the model name of this bass guitar?
buen bajista!
Is this the 5 watt model ?
I doesn’t have tap tempo and that makes the delay kind of useless.
Does it work for keyboard?
Yep, I saw someone busk keyboard playing with it
Wish he offered more mellow bass tones. Must admit, I wish I could play as melodically and lively as this gent...
Scott Whitley could make a clay brick sound good. This amp sounds good, and his playing is better.
They should of gave you that P.A for you review
I am a noob bassist and like my affordable, shortscale sqyier pbass, light andbeasy to play .
Loud enough to gig with?
No it’s small practice amp.
@@havardramstad7138 okay
Mine kept up with drummer but that was with guitar, and iv played out with it a few times it's very loud bit scared to try with bass but they do a bass model, it's on the list for me!
@@mikeagnew2273 Thanks for the information
Bose s1 are best
You’d be way better off buying a used Roland bass Cube street amp or “Micro Bass Cube” because it has 4 small speakers designed to handle bass and they won’t eventually get blown out like guitar speakers will. It’s a shame Boss refuses to make the the old Roland design for street bass players.
Yes, but I wouldn't do it. The piston and cone aren't designed to accommodate bass frequencies. Playing bass through guitar speakers is like blunt force trauma.
It is designed to handle full range signals such as backing tracks etc. It's basically a very compact PA system. So unless I missed the part in the manual where it says "only play music and backing tracks that contain no bass instrument" then I'd confidently say it's not even close to being an issue.
BUT - if what you meant is that the piston and cone aren't designed to cope with having a bass instrument played through them at rock stage volume with an acoustic kit etc. then you're correct.
I clearly wasn't talking about or endorsing that kind of use. :)
@@ScottWhitley
No, what I meant is simply what I said. Playing bass through speakers designed to accommodate acoustic or electric guitars isn't a good idea. Doing so takes a toll on the speaker assembly over a period of time. Backing tracks are compressed to the point where low frequencies aren't an issue.
A Micro Cube Bass amp would be a much better option. Our blues busking band uses one. It's 10w mono w/4×4" speakers. A nice, tight bass sound not unlike a 4×10" cabinet w/an acoustic kit. Our BP plays a passive 5 and it picks up the low B pretty well.
But, certainly in a pinch on a low volume acoustic gig using a Cube Street isn't going to blow the speakers. In fact your rig sounds very nice.
@@MeneerHerculePoirot Hello, putting a compressor pedal before, could it be solved and not damage the speaker?
@@MeneerHerculePoirot but it's just 5 watt not 10
@@ElRevireDuo
Yeah, that would probably work. But, why when there is already a product on the market that's designed for electric bass?
Be nice if you could play a bit slower for those of us who struggle with all the fancy stuff.
Solo es para voz y guitarra, no es recomendable
