POROS ISLAND

Ο Πόρος είναι νησί του Σαρωνικού Κόλπου. Η αρχαία ονομασία του ήταν Καλαυρία. Έχει 3.993 κατοίκους που αποτελούν ομώνυμο δήμο. Βρίσκεται σε μικρή απόσταση από την ακτή Πελοποννήσου και το απέναντι χωριό Γαλατάς της Τροιζηνίας. Είναι γνωστός, μεταξύ άλλων, για το σπουδαίο λεμονοδάσος που βρίσκεται στην παραπάνω ακτή, ενώ είναι δημοφιλής σαν τόπος μικρών αποδράσεων από την Αθήνα.
Poros is an island in the Saronic Gulf. Its ancient name was Kalavria. It has 3,993 inhabitants who are a municipality of the same name. It is located a short distance from the coast of Peloponnese and the opposite village of Galatas in Troizinia. It is known, among other things, for the great lemon grove located on the coast above, while it is popular as a place for small escapes from Athens.
