I lived under a pop-culture rock in those days listening to nothing but 80s metal. First time i heard this song it came on the radio in a bar i was having lunch at and EVERY GIRL IN THE ROOM started singing it and i had no idea what was going on. definitely strange that such a sharp memory is 10 years old

This song was already meant to sound like this. I almost never listen to pop, I'm a metal head/shoegaze fan, but this song always had something extra in it.

In hearing this as a band rather than electronics etc I literally hear so much of Deftones - Be Quiet and Drive in this version and can’t unhear it now.

You managed to make this great without keeping the violin riff (aka, the MVP of the original song.) Good job.
You know what? It's not a bad song. I have a strong dislike for the original, but this rendition puts a spin on it that makes it kinda good lyrically speaking... it helps that the music feels so grungy and the vocals are so laid back. Niiiice.

Still missing the Thursday livestreams, but this gave me my F211 "fix" for the next week.
Blows the mind, a little, when you realise that Audra was probably still in school when the original came out, now here she rockin it out with an awesome cover, as an adult. Sadly 2012 wasn't a very good year for me, though I would rather be 39 again than the 49 I am now haha.
