This video is super helpful, thanks! Could you please share the torque specs for the bolts that keep the fork tube in place, and also for the little drain bolt?
@@chrisbiker919 According to the 2013 service manual for cbr500r/cb500fx, the"fork socket bolt" which is at the very bottom of the fork, covered up by the axle normally, is 15 ft lb. I think that might be what you refer to as the drain bolt. Also a note is that if the spins, to put the spring + spacer + fill cap, so that the spring can prevent the inner rod from spinning so that the drain bolt will engage properly.
Hi Chris, I'd like to request you to make a video on how to replace the lamp in the third headlight on your Toyota. In the manual it tells you to remove the two screws holding it, then push in and pull down. But I can't get my light to move so idk what I'm doing wrong. I got a previa but it should be the same Thx in advance!
@@chrisbiker919 Hi Chris! To prepare you for what's ahead I made a short video where I show where I got stuck. ruclips.net/video/Rxibfs4PRI8/видео.html Thanks for taking your time for this request!
Hello Chris, i've loose up all the bolts and stuff, but i can't handle to take the forks off. I had an accident and i want to replace it because they are so bend. Also, probably in a lot of years no one has removed that forks, because i can see rust on the tube where it fits on the frame. Then i found your video and i confirmed that i was doing it the right way, is just they are stuck because of the bend. Any advice you can give me to remove them? Thank you a lot!
Try taking off the top triple clamp first upward, undo the center nut on the upper and pull up. You might be able to take a stubbie flat blade screwdriver and pry the bottom pinch hold to pull the tube down. Hope this helps
At what point do you stop inserting the forks? In other words how high up or low. do the forks have to be before you tighten them down??? I also have a Cbr and I don’t know. Any help I’d appreciate
I make them high enough to go through the handlebar and there is a metal ring that goes around the fork tube into a slot in the tube. That is the standard height.
I change mine every 35,000km and don't have any problems. I have seen people that never change it until they have a fork seal leak. The oil will last longer then 2 years if you don't do a lot of km's.
Great informative video Chris, cheers 🍺 😎🎵🎵🍻
Thanks Aldo

how often do you recommend the fork oil change? 2year/12000km? like brake fluid? or more/less?

Awesome, what type of stand is that?
It was a generic front stand from ebay and came with multiple different pins to fit different lower fork clamp holes
Just curious what headlift stand do you use?

Thanks, picked up a venom one@@chrisbiker919
Can we use synthetic or normal oil in forks
You can use normal fork oil. I chose synthetic because I didn't want to change it again for a long time.
oil level
120mm from the top of the tube
