First, I always appreciate watching your process, very helpful. Second, your humor when things go wrong always makes me feel better about my own screwups!
"A machine that puts pineapple on pizza" you say? We have that already, it's a telephone. It can bake and deliver it piping hot to the door of your choice. (Good choice of coffee maker too) loved the build and choice of materials.
Super cool concept and great execution! Love the idea of having amounts of coffee pre-weighed ready for grinding. I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, but you can get much more consistently good cups of coffee by using a burr grinder instead of a blade and a Chemex or V60 instead of a drip coffee machine. You also can lean into the science aesthetic more by controlling variables in your brew like temperature, grind size, extraction time, water to coffee ratio, etc. Drink your coffee however you enjoy, but there is a lot of fun to be had going down the rabbit hole. James Hoffman is a great channel to checkout if it interests you.
Man you are one crazy talented carpenter. Always a treat watching you create things. Disappointed you stopped the table saw trolling, but I'll let it slide. 😁👍
Wesley, this was wonderful! Thank you. I enjoyed watching with my cup of coffee from rainy Northern Ireland. There's something about bespoke crafted objects for a particular person's process that just makes me really happy. Reminds me of Adam Savage's toolboxes! You should go on Tested, their RUclips show, I reckon they'd like your stuff as much as we do. Please do more!
Great job. I learned to use the brad nailer at 90º from the edge to avoid two thing: split the under piece (@1:01) and a rogue nail/pin to bust through the wood, because the pin's shape is like an edge. Had some close calls, once a 45 mm pin curled and almost got my finger. Ok, I'm not a "safety justice warrior", just a regular guy with a mild case of OCD.
all such sophisticated work just for a coffee handler. I mean, I love it! This guy will create the time machine once He will not be able to recall where He put his keys one day.
Very cool! somehow I just knew you were a kindred spirit coffee geek! Cant believe you got all that glass in one box and no breakage! I think some clear acrylic or maybe SS would have looked good where yoiu used the white plastic. Love the walnut trim on the plastic, came out perfect! SS allen head screws would be nice too.
Just discovered your channel from makesomething, watched one video and immediately subscribed! "Today, we learn about air pressure!" "Mmmmmhmmm, Next up, Gravity!" So my type of humor! Don't mind me, I'll be binging all your videos!
Don’t pay attention to the trolls in the comment section. There will always be negativity. Just keep kicking ass and making stuff. Thanks for you videos.
Thank you for this video lol. That's awesome, my son in college is a big coffee guy. Gonna build something like this as a present for him now. Thanks for the idea,, new subscriber.
I have that same coffee maker. I find that if I drink it with just the basket filter my stomach starts acting up after awhile. I fixed this by using a 1-4 C basket filter in the reusable basket. It absorbs some of the oil and tannins and then I can handle it no problem. Doesn't mess up the flavor at all.
My issue seems to be that, by the time the brew is finished, all the grounds have migrated to the sides and I just get clear water at the end. So, I think I'm having to use more grounds than I should.
@@WesleyTreat To get a single cup of strong, fantastic coffee in that machine, I use 2 well rounded TBSP of coffee grounds. Also do try the basket filter. It seems to bunch the grounds up more. And clean up is much easier.
Hey sugar isn't for me, but I love seeing how you make something that's perfect for you! The white plastic and walnut look good together. Very good old timey science lab style.
Thank you very much for this inspirational, instructional and humorous video Wesley. I love the glas tube aesthetics, built myself a herb salt stand last christmas. :)
I had one of those test tube spice racks that were popular in the early 2000s, but I lost most of the tubes when I used them for a Halloween costume one year.
Maybe stainless allen heads for the top part of your stand offs, because you will get moisture in creep into those areas, specially the unseen parts after a spill. Murphy's Law. Awesome build, though. Now, where'd i put my CNC machine? Oh, and as far as the hot dog thing, as a Buddhist...I make myself one with everything.
As much as the person who suggested you "rethink" your table saw sound was out of line, I sure do miss that adorable Jetson's flying car noise. Table sawing just isn't the same without it.
Now I need coffee! Put that thing in production please. Love your techniques and the sweet finish. I really look forward to se your take on the pizza of taboo. Who the **** invented that ghastly thing anyway?
Pineapple on pizza, that's it I'm out I'm drawing the line. 🤣 Great video, as always love your style. Might have to get me one of those single serve coffee makers. 🤔
There's science missing! No scale? Blade grinder instead of adjustable burr grinder? Cork attempting to make an air-tight seal? /runs around flailing That is a nice setup... Last time I used lab ware for making coffee I was trying to do a triple cold brew.... vac filtration and all.... Friends thought I had gone insane. This looks like a far more reasonable configuration for "general coffee", no fancy things needed.
I stayed with you despite the clear and utter lack of ketchup on your hotdog. I have accepted your coffee proclivities. But, pineapple?! On pizza??!! My friend, I just...I can't...okay fine. Bring it!
I love your style and sense of humor. "next up, gravity!". HAHA. Anyways, quick question for you. Do you find moving the camera and thinking like a film maker interrupts your creative process?
Love the video as usual! It’s nice to see a maker that shows the errors and issues he has and how you fix them. Kind of miss the Jetsons table saw 😂 but I’m sure there was some copyright something or another with it. Also, don’t put pineapple on pizza. You’re better than that Wesley.
To inject a bit more science... Roasted coffee is highly perishable. All things being equal, freshly roasted coffee is better than coffee roasted just a week earlier. To kick your coffee to the next level try home roasting coffee. It’s easy and it’s the best. I roast in a hot air popcorn popper. Yes, really. It’s easy!! My very first batch was wonderful (I did my homework before I started.)
It's a good thing I swallowed and put my mug down before I was hit straight in the face with "next up: a machine that puts pineapple on pizza" or else I would have spray painted my screen with coffee!!! :D
You go through all of that just to use a crappy coffee maker? Use one of those vacuum/syphon types that uses more cool chemistry set gear. At least use a pourover or a french press.
Why would you need a machine to put pineapple on pizza? You drain the liquid from the can into a glass, pour the pieces into your palm and throw it on the pizza as if you're sowing grass or salting road.
Sorry. I was under the misguided assumption that you ''pay your bills'' by taking on commissions to build such items as Aged coffee machines ,( I watched that one many years ago), and that the video's were just a side line for others to enjoy. Silly me.
So, you can only enjoy a video if I make no money doing it? Producing videos takes an incredible amount of time, especially if I'm going to put them out on any kind of a regular basis. Expecting me to continue working a second job without pay, while spending my own money on equipment, software and supplies, just to provide you free content is incredibly selfish, don't you think? Have you considered being happy for me that I'm starting to see some sort of income at this, and can begin focusing more on making videos? The romantic notion of the starving artist is garbage, my friend.
I have enjoyed your video's for about 5 years. While enjoying your content, I was always sure to tick the thumbs up in the knowledge that this would bring in some extra funding to compensate for the time taken in making your video's. RUclips in its inception was not seen as a means of funding ones lifestyle. It would seem from your comments that things have changed, and that that is the expectation. So rather than insulting you with any further remarks, I will sadly go elsewhere on youtube and wish you good luck with your channel and hope it brings you all you are striving for. It has been a pleasure to share these few personal views with you. Even though your participation was one of defensive mild aggression.
So, you clicked thumbs up hoping I would be compensated for my time, but when it's more than the few pennies you feel you're tossing my way, that's just too much for you? Thank you for watching for so long, but I don't owe you free content. ✌️
Am I the only one disappointed every time I hear the genuine sound of a table saw and not the Jetson ?
I sincerely hope you never, in a sleepy caffeine-deprived state, confuse your superglue caddy with your coffee caddy.

It's the 2 in. Mini Bench Top Cut-Off Saw available at Harbor Freight.
Ooh. That's an awesome idea. A miniscule pizza oven for Bagel Bites.
In high school ceramics class, we used the raku kiln to heat pizza snacks. Pizza cooks very quickly at 3000 degrees....
