@เสือ - Payak sorry to burst your bubble but Floyd would have comfortably beaten somrak. He was green, yes, but they are both counter boxers and Floyd had the better defence and boxing fundamentals even at that early stage. He would have been in Floyd's world, and toyed with to a decision. Big fan of somrak and I study both boxing and Mt closely.
@@apocx4290 Somrak reach was longer I think . No way Floyd would walk right into Somrak lol . Somrak at that time was perhaps the best he ever was under Boxing rules . He would of put up a fight . Under Muay Thai or Kickboxing rules Somrak win by any way he wants in less than 3 seconds or all the way till 15 minutes , any way and whenever he want to finish Fluyd he could of , and if he wants to torture Floyd he also could have . Incredible how Sormak Khamsing AKA the best ever in Muay Thai would have given Floyd Mayweather AKA the best ever in boxing a good fight . It's no coincidence that there are 2 Jocky Gym fighters in this video (Somrak and Silapathai). If you guys didn't know, Saenchai, Lerdsila, and the 78kg heavyweight killer Kaoklai are from Jocky Gym.
most of these fights were from late 80s and early 90s. My father said Muay Thai before this era was even better and more beautiful. He used to go to Lumpinee to watched live several times.
I feel like in Muay Thai they always teach you to keep a stiff strong straight core, not to take a step backwards, and not to use to much evasive head movement as to not set yourself up for a knee/headkick. But I find that a lot of the fighters with the most beautiful style, and some of the most skilled, employed western boxing techniques into their muay thai, Samart, Somrak, Oley.
"western boxing techniques" STFU, man. all the techniques in this video are muay thai moves, muay thai punches muay thai footwork, muay thai slips, lean backs, all muay thai moves. if those techniques also exist in other styles that's cool, but this is muay thai and they learned those moves in his muay thai training . don't take the merits of a martial artist and his art to give it to another martial art.
@@Tungsten-le1wy Somrak literally won an olympic gold medal in boxing, you really think he didn't bring over any moves and techniques to muay thai and vice versa?
@@facehole3 no, he didn't bring over any moves, all the moves that he use exist in muay thai, and he was doing all those moves way before transitioning to boxing, that's why making the transition was so easy for him. boxing is easy when you truly master muay thai

well spotted, had to watch it a few times to see it all properly. Where does the power come from in such a strike? Is it the jumping off with the right leg, is it the extension of the right leg in the air? Oley is incredible, that fight in particular looks like a showcase
