    Enjoyed watching this adventure! Bring on All the IHC variations. If it's IH it's Family! While I watched this I was imagining how a much needed polish would make that green paint POP again. Looking forward to seeing more from this project.

    Hello, I found your video only yesterday, April 13, 2024 and it brought back so many memories of my experiences with cars/trucks sitting for years and trying to breathe life back into them with my almost eternal optimism and hours fly by and so do days...so frustrating...oh why do we always continue to try...it must be something in our internal spirit of "we can make this run". This is an honest video of how life really is on efforts to make cars/pickups sitting for years...not like they show us on other videos ..this is an honest video. Loved it.

    Just bought my first 74’ IH Scout ii from a close friend. Its got rust baaad, but im so happy to be apart of the community. The build will take time, probably 10years, but it’s exciting to think that ive got my hands on something that comes with a culture of people full of enthusiasm and passion for life and adventures. Might mess around and make my own videos, who knows.

    If you threw the video into Final Cut Pro, you can add a High Pass audio Filter and choose 125 on the range and it should take out all the wind noise. It works great but it would add a step or two to input the entire video and then export after the filter pass.

    Good to see an old International pickup. I bought a brand new 1110 in 1973 for three thousand three hundred dollars. With the 345, positraction rear end and by then International was using Chrysler automatics. Wasn't the strip down model either. The middle of the road exterior and interior trim. No air conditioning though. You don't see too many of those around my neck of the woods anymore. They rusted out pretty quick, even here in Virginia. I wish I would have kept it, but in 1975 I traded it back to International for a Scout. Don't have that one anymore either.

    What an amazing find, that truck looks great! I too, after many years of owning a Scout, ventured into the trucks with the purchase of a 71 1210 a few months ago. Any ideas on what you may do brakes and axle wise? It was a job finding all the parts needed to rebuild the brakes on the RA12 axle. Definitely more D Series vids!

    Love these videos, man! Keep 'em coming. I don't own a Scout (yet), but I'd love to see more of these trucks in your videos. I'd love to see each stage of the rebuild of this truck, too. I'm curious what goes into interior design, how upholstery is chosen and made, and also how you either revive the old paint or re-paint. Wood bumper? Was this normal for these, or just a "mod?" You made me excited to try and figure out how to get my Atomic "Bomb" 😂 working better.

    Sean, it sure looked like you were under the truck with only a floor jack supporting it and no jack stands, plus you were out there working by yourself at the time. That's obviously no bueno for a host of reasons. The truck is a really nice find and in overall good condition. Thanks for bringing us along on this journey. Just some more random thoughts that you can take or leave as you please. With the condition of what came out of the oil drain hole, if it were me I'd be thinking hard about dropping the oil pan out for an inspection before I even tried running the engine. I know that pees in the cornflakes of getting it running and driving right away, but you'd sure hate to plug up the oil pickup screen with a bunch of nasty sludge and rodent carcasses thereby starving the engine of lubrication. Adding a thread in mechanical oil pressure gauge to your revival kit would be a great asset for any future revivals so that you can get instant trustworthy OP status regardless of onboard gauge condition. Just my opinion, but you had the thing starting quickly and running well enough on the existing tune up parts to be drivable. You could have saved on the lengthy tune up process for when you got it home to the shop. That would have freed you up to focus on just the things that were required to get it moving and stopping. All the moisture incursion inside the transmission is bad news as evidenced by the strawberry milkshake residue.

    • @treverwhetzel9603
      @treverwhetzel9603 2 года назад

      Dang. I typed that message before I watched the whole video. That's a tough lesson to learn the hard way. I fear you probably already roached that engine bro. Hindsight 20/20, but when you don't have halfway decent oil coming out of the drain hole and a huge quantity, you gotta drop that oil pan down for a look. And you gotta have some kind of pressure gauge connected that you can trust before you even start the engine for the first time. Just has to be that way man.

    I had a 75 Scout V8, auto, AC that was stolen from me and what was left had been dumped at a friends junkyard which is where I found it when the yard owner called me to ask me what had happened as it was one of my babies and he found it dumped off outside of his gate when he showed up to open the yard in the morning and my only other Corn Binder was a 67 Travel all 4 WD with a 392 4 spd and posi? That had its roof chopped off turning it into a pickup and it had rotted so bad that had the rear doors been welded to the rear quarter panels the quarters would have fallen off instead of swinging out on the doors since the hinges were never welded, so ended up tying a rope across the rear tailgate area from quarter to quarter to hhold them in place to drive it out to my brothers to do a body swap with a 51 Ford pickup body and box. It eventually got scrapped as well when the frame rusted through

    Made off a ford truck platform bolt pattern is ford starters were ford that bed. Favors 68-72 ford f100

    • @robgm6926
      @robgm6926 2 года назад

      No it's built on an International platform. They bought the brakes from the same supplier Ford used. They used Delco electrics for many years (ignition, starter, alternator) and changed to Prestolite in the late sixties. The starter was made by the same people who make starters for Ford, but to International specs. And that body was made by International. None of the sheet metal is shaped anything like Ford.
