I am older than Tupac and as a Black mother, I did not allow my children to listen to Tupac's music because of the media's portrayal of him. Been listening to him since the early 90's. He has so many great tracks. Such as: Heartz Of Men, Changes, Hail Mary, I wonder if heaven gots a ghetto, Thugz Mansion, I aint mad atcha, You can't C me. Just to name a few. The music of today lacks substance. I only F wit the 90's and early to mid 200's Hip Hop. The new shiat is garbaggio!

2pac was just different. Sure he rapped about the typical stuff. Drugs, sex, thug life etc. Though he also rapped about seriously issues and perspective and did so with a lyrical genius. He said it like it was and didn't apologize for it. As a white kid in the 90s mostly focused on Christian music etc and though I was in a big city I lived mostly in a White bubble when I got exposed to his music I just got drawn in. Was a whole other perspective, a whole other world. It really changed my perspective from that point on and I feel like I was much more open as a person the rest of my life because he just communicated this other perspective so well.
