When First Squad is captured by a raving mad Minotaur, he forces them to serve as gladiators for his own entertainment. Matters get worse when he pits them against each other in a fight to the death. Lin Chung thinks fast and asks his teammates to help him fake a battle that looks intense, but ultimately allows him to destroy the power grid that keeps them trapped. Together, First Squad helps BearStomp and the other animal prisoners escape.

i'm not sure myself but i think that logic dictates for most people to take the easier looking path or the one apparently less dangerous. Taking a path that is more dangerous is meant for the exit to be difficult to find

I think they are dragon horses to be based on the "trojan horse" for the ancient greek/roman theme of the episode.
