An off-duty DS Roach hands a drunken man over to uniform, but confusion arises over exactly who the arresting officer is, rousing the ire of Insp. Monroe.
Munroe was such a tight-arse by the book bastard. Sometimes he was right. But when he was wrong? He was very wrong. And his institutional prejudice against the Detective branch hurt him a lot.
Argh, I hate it when people namedrop the ranks of senior officers they vaguely know! I tell you this, if I were Commissioner, it'd do you no good, my policy is "I don't care if it's my dear old mum, if they're nicked, then bang 'em up!"
so help me i'll thump that man in the mouth! well give it another 2 and a bit years lol. when both peters and pennycalled monroe a jerk i remember think how spot on that was. i think that monroe only did what he did because he didn't like roach. he did later in the show though turn into a very good govener who earned much more respect by his colleagues
Why wasn't the drunken prisoner's tie and braces removed before he was put into a cell? Asphyxiation/ Strangulation hazard. Poor lapse in judgement on the part of the custody Sergeant. Am I correct? 🤔
RIP Colin Tarrant(Monroe) Tony Scanell(Roach) & Roger Leach(Penny) 3 great actors that made The Bill watchable
The start of the animosity between Ted and Monroe!!
Penny’s sarcastic comment arresting officer Jerry Hall 😂😂
22:00 Roach has a meltdown, whilst Munroe seethes with resentment - absolutely classic TV! 👮📺👍
Such a great eposide. Roach is a legend. R.I.P....
These were great episodes, full of comedy.
Monroe & Roach ; R I P . 🙏

And Roger Leach(Tom Penny)
Excellent episode and great foreshadowing of Roach's explosive exit in S9
If you wanted fast food you should’ve went to McDonalds 😂😂 classic Ted Roach

Well said, I'm on the side of Ted over this but Monroe was a good character as well,R.I.P TONY SCANNEL AND COLIN TARRANT.
@@peteanderson4395 add Roger Leach(Tom Penny) he’s dead as well cancer 2001
Memories of Tuesday and Thursday night
more trouble between Ted and Monroe, which will later end with Ted leaving after punching him
He'd be leaving anyway.
As Monroe pointed out, striking a senior officer is a serious offence.
You can see why Roach ultimately decked Monroe years later. Smug little creep!
Jeremy Nicholas as the drunk guy. A good jobbing actor.
Thank - you so much, I love this episode. Thanks for uploading! Keep up the good work ❤🤟
Amazing episode, Monroe just lets it snowball, wasting resources along the way.
Munroe was such a tight-arse by the book bastard. Sometimes he was right. But when he was wrong? He was very wrong.
And his institutional prejudice against the Detective branch hurt him a lot.
Ted’s threats to Monroe become reality in the episode Punch Drunk S9e57 Ted’s last episode
“So help me god I’m going to smack that man in the mouth!” You don’t know how tight you are Ted 😆
Monroe being a jobsworth....
cry more simp
The way the Custody Sergeant responded tk the complaint is the exact opisite of what a Custody Sergeant should do
Would you like to see me salute sir classic Roach he’s a legend
Reminds me of my old line manager at JL I just wanted to scream at him many times
I didn't know Roger leech had died in 2001 😮 aka Sgt penny
Played a complex character very well
Roach vs Monroe round 1
Good episode!
real cop against apparatik Monroe, we need more Ted Roaches.
Argh, I hate it when people namedrop the ranks of senior officers they vaguely know!
I tell you this, if I were Commissioner, it'd do you no good, my policy is "I don't care if it's my dear old mum, if they're nicked, then bang 'em up!"
maybe ted should have stayed at the bar and enjoyed his company and let management deal with .
Why was the prisoner’s laces braces & tie not taken off him at custody before he was put in the cell I thought that was their procedure
Shame Roach never chinned Monroe he deserved it many times.
He ended up decking him in S9e57 Punch Drunk Ted’s last episode
@@graemewatson1106and I can remember saying....good on you Ted!
Sense of duty and punch drunk episodes which Ted Roach (Tony Scannel) had a pow wow twice with Andrew Munroe (Colin Tarrant)
so help me i'll thump that man in the mouth! well give it another 2 and a bit years lol. when both peters and pennycalled monroe a jerk i remember think how spot on that was. i think that monroe only did what he did because he didn't like roach. he did later in the show though turn into a very good govener who earned much more respect by his colleagues
if ya wanted fast food you should have tried McDonalds
teds answer to everything lol
Why wasn't the drunken prisoner's tie and braces removed before he was put into a cell? Asphyxiation/ Strangulation hazard. Poor lapse in judgement on the part of the custody Sergeant. Am I correct? 🤔
Exactly that’s what I was thinking as in another episode Bob Cryer grilled Taffy Edwards for taking the laces & belt off a prisoner
