again a very down-to-earth review that allows us to have a properly informed opinion. The car press has been sorely missing what you're doing. Keep it up!
Great review. Front of the car looks a bit complicated, hopefully they are able to reproduce it on other Sportages:)) But, when I look at the side of the car at 3:47 , I can see how the DLRs complement the chrome strips under the windows and the C pillar. The strip on the C pillar look out of place to me. The interior is above expectation and looks even better in beige. Love the blind spot screen. Plenty for new owners to be satisfied with.
Test drove a 2022 GT Line 1.6 CRDI in Ireland yesterday. I did like it but I'm not sure on long term reliability, coming from a 7 year old Mazda petrol. That's all that's holding me back.
Yess! For the first time- first on my timeline on YT. Every week i have to look for your reviews but now it appeared immediately! That trick with name was a HIT Nice review as always ! Not my type of car design Congrats
Congratulations for your sincerity and courage of saying that the boot is small and is maybe up to 450Liter instead of 650 -710 Liter as they declare for tucson. All the best to you!
seen lots of people complaining about these 2022-2023 kia sportage cars.....their engine faild their 7dct gearbox shaking and needing service in the first year or ownership....is this car plagued with issues?
love the interior, side and back designd, but not sure what happened in the front. maybe the designers fell asleep. thanks for the review. would be great if you can do a consumption test with the 230hp Hybrid AWD, as it seems the best pick.
I had a test drive and it resulted in an order - I’be bought the HEV version 2WD and can’t wait. The only thing I desperately need is wireless CarPlay. Heard that there might be a SW update coming in next months to enable it. Crossing fingers - having wireless charging and a phone connected bya wire together doesn’t make sense to me
Interestingly enough on models without sat-nav you apparently get wireless ACP and AA. I think I experienced this in the Hyundai Bayon. My friend as a base spec Rio and he reported the same.
Hi marek. Great video. I've read issues people are having with the seat depth. I'm 6'4" and always struggle with leg support. Just curious to know if you (or any fellow commentors) have noticed this during test drive? Thanks.
@@MarekDrivesENG thanks for the response marek. Out of interest, are there any of these type of suv that you have driven that have deeper seats? If you're not sure it's fine. I know you drive a lot of cars so probably don't remember all the seat sizes 😅
Hyundai/KIA generally have the shortest seats. Even I notice, and I'm not particularly tall. Other brands either simply have longer seats, or they have built-in thigh support adjustment.
Had a test drive on friday. Short conclusion: some materials inside are cheep, build quality is decent, piano black is too much, the panel with climate control or shortcuts is not good (when you turn the button for climate you many times also turn the front heating (button is too small and the heating too close). I am 170cm and had problems with my position behind a wheel (when i feel good with my driving position i have problems to get to panel or screen). And the outside noise it really too much (wind and engine). But with all the goodies (i intend to buy full hibrid in GT line and awd) - i didn't desidet yet.
hi I trust your review. can you tell me if you compare with RAV4 which one do you prefer? cos they improved the interior and RAV4 seems from the last decade and I am wondering which one you would go for. 1.6 is that comparable to 2.5 of the RAV4?
I haven't been inside a RAV4 since I reviewed one 3 years ago (ruclips.net/video/HurzRqbepqQ/видео.html). Unless you count the Suzuki Across last year (ruclips.net/video/LZEa9FZKUfI/видео.html), but that was a PHEV. I'm not going to see another RAV4 before the facelift. There's only me, and 60+ new cars to drive every year.
I loved this review. After watching your video I am a little on the fence about it as I really want an automobile that is quiet on the fast roads. Minimal road and wind noise. How bad is it in this car and compared to other cars in the segment and price range how does it compare? I love everything about this car, REALLY do wish it had a heads-up display. My wife's car has the HUD and it really gives you all the info you need and you never have to check any screen or side mirrors in the car for anything. Not having a HUD does take away one point on the car. As is right now I'd give it an 8/10 due to noise you mention, and no HUD. Had both been there an easy 9.
If quiet in the cabin is your priority, I'd start looking based on availability of acoustic windscreen (increasingly often this is standard), as well as optional acoustic front side windows. That usually helps a lot with the wind noise at motorway speeds.
@@MarekDrivesENG Thank you! These screens are available in the Kia or look for other vehicles that have these screens? Or is this something you do after the purchase and add on to the car? I am not an expert in this area. Thank you!
Its very quiet, I drove 226 HP Hybrid 20 miles at 70 mph and it was smooth and quiet. Having just sold my 2019 Range rover evoque I can say this car feels more special.
Some countries have the long wheel base version which looks a lot nicer than the European one.WHY Kia???To add to that why do Kia not supply the Sorento X Line or the Kia Carnival in Europe. We are short changed in Europe when it comes to models available. When you consider how popular the VW T5 has been in the last few years i think Kia are missing a window of opportunity here. Why not the Telluride as well when the Range Rover,Discovery and Sport plus the Touareg still sell very well.
To my eye, this design is really coherent and well put together. I like the sharp lines esp in the rear. Not sure I'd buy a SUV but this seems like a well priced offering that probably undercuts the competition no? Even the Hyundai Tucson looks nice. Although I think Kia and Hyundai's best efforts recently have been the Ioniq 5 and the EV6. Great looking cars. Oh my, I'm becoming a fanboy of Korean design. (Already a Marek fanboy! )
Marek Drives In English. Which would you choose between the Tucson and the Sportage? ....and why. Since you saw both, which is the more attractive vehicle?
No idea. This is the first press car available. As fas as I'm concerned it could be powered with LPG, as long as I get my hands on it before everyone else. The Polish launch event is tomorrow :)
Sportage for the headlights. But for real Mazda CX-5 or Peugeot 3008 for sound insulation and reliability. Kia/Hyundai have issues with DCT transmissions, Kia even reduced the warranty to just 2 years or 20 000 km.
@@sic22l thats hilarious peugeot better reliability than hyundai/kia also the headlights of tucson are really strong i dont get why he said are weak. also dct of hyundai/kia atm is one of the best.
@@mpampismaniatis7634 At least in the EU LED headlights in new Tucson are absolute crap. They produce short and narrow beam and they're pretty dim. Kia's DCt is nice to drive but it's also horribly unreliable. Quite often it dies after 50-70k km. That's why they reduced the warranty period for this part.
I'm picking up the hatchback (phev, I think) for a test drive in 2 weeks. It took the press office in Poland ages to get it. At this rate the estate will probably arrive next year :)

Why isn’t the Sportage offered with adaptive suspension in the UK like it is in Europe and other markets?
Excellent reviews 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Please have the on screen info in metric also. Silly imperial stuff shouldn't take over ;)
The boot is huge btw and feels a lot larger than other cars with more or similiar official numbers in boot space.
Interesting design, I'm curious whether it will spread to their normal cars.
I wish Europe got the LWB version, or at least a version that looked more similar to the LWB version. The LWB version looks a lot better imo.
I think it looks worse, it's too bloated, too much like a boring wagon.
@sic22l my thoughts exactly.
Love it Marek, please keep it up as your videos are very intuitive to watch. a thumbs up from me!
Many thanks!
Great review Marek ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ would you recommend the full hybrid 230ps version over the PHEV ?

How does this car compare to the Peugeot 3008?
Thanks for talking right after about matrix lights! This is actually the 1st coolest thing in this car, but also the 2nd is adaptive dampers!
I didn't get to experience the adaptive dampers. They are an option only on the trop trim model in Poland.
