BTS has released a webtoon called 'save me' that gives the whole storyline!!! Synopsis (includes mild spoilers) - It starts with them meeting each other in school and becoming a close knit friend group, then going different ways (and losing contact mostly) where their issues become a lot more serious (since now they didn't have an escape to it anymore which previously their friend group used to be) which leads to all these characters breaking down (suicide, jail etc) in their own way and then the comic delves into how Jin comes across RM at the exact day of most of these unfortunate events (suicide, accident, jail etc) , realizes that he has the ability to time travel to that same day and ultimately the comic explains how he tries to save all of them!
@@michelealeeb this is the basic storyline. Except mild spoilers, there's nothing major in there. It mostly has things that are revealed in the first chapter of comic itself! Nope, nevermind, I just checked and my dumbass was getting those two songs messed up. You're right tho, that duo of songs is iconic. My forever all time favorite songs, and the songs that got me into kpop.
this is the start of bts universe.... whole story line follows the songs from their albums...the most beautiful moments in life pt1 and 2 , young forever, wings, loveyourself her, wonder, tear and answer. if you want to know the storyline its great to start with i need you and go in sequence...
*This song changed everything for them, it got them their first win after like 3 or 2 yrs. One of the best and timeless, now they are billboard number ones*
The way they chose this concept and stepping away from the usual kpop boyband style was very brave and signifies their confidence in their arts. No outrageous styling, no fancy dance moves (in the video at least, the choreo for this song tho is *chef’s kiss*), only thought-provoking imageries and outstanding beats and melodies. This song gave BTS their first win in a music show and a beginning to many of their achievements.
Finally, I need You is a masterpiece. In here, they are not talking about a love interest, “girl” could be someone that is really close to you and cherish. With this video the Bangtan Universe starts, now you should watch the videos in order to understand the storyline. You guys are right about all of them representing characters and having different types of struggles. I’m gonna give you the order for this first fase: I need you On stage: Prologue Run Young Forever
This MV is actually a part of the Bangtan Universe Storyline! So, the lyrics don't match up with the visuals much. Their MVs from this era were usually like this. And yeah, you guys are mostly right about the meaning of the MV. 9:18 - 10:13 Efra's interpretation of the MV is actually completely spot on.
Oh I'm thankful you didn't stop reacting and discovering their old music ..I saw a few hate and complaining comments about how you react to them more ..and I'm like how .. seriously you are the most diversed channel ik in reacting ..and and most balanced for k-pop ...but anyways pls continue there are many people who are loving these reactions and your interpretation
No one was hating tho, people were just expressing their opinions like everyone else. When it comes to them reacting to a single kpop group it’s mostly BTS. Literally scroll through their channel they were putting out 3-4 BTS reactions a week for the longest time
@@femiyakubu7142 I scrolled their last BTS reaction was 1 week ago ..two weeks ago they reacted to 3 BTS videos and it goes like that ..in middle I saw many NCT and other group reactions ..so idk how you feel they only react to BTS lol ( and yes people were complaining ) but even if you don't like them you should have no problem in them discovering music even if it's BTS ( Im finding many artist music through here )unless they don't like their music
I know, that’s why I like them and their channel so much, you can also feel their genuine love for music. Edit:I meant this for your original comment btw
@@SD-nx6ky For months they were putting out 3-4 BTS reactions, they’ve only put out less this week and last week. Plus I never said they only react to BTS I said it’s MOSTLY BTS when it comes to a SINGLE kpop group. The issue isn’t that they’re reacting to BTS, it’s that many others request things from many other groups and it can take them months to react to some of these requests (which I do understand it can happen sometimes) but then they would still manage to put out 3-4 bts reactions a week. I don’t see how that’s balanced
@@SD-nx6ky Also I don’t have an issue with BTS, ngl I do prefer their older stuff tho and obvs I don’t have a problem with them discovering new music. But they say they like and want to check out other groups too and others request other groups too, but then it’s been mostly BTS reactions that get put out when it comes to single kpop group reactions
well, The next video in the bts universe is "on stage: prologue" hope this is the next reaction, it also features one of my favourite BTS songs. (if you do watch it make sure to look for the translated version)
i think i have heard it somewhere that RM said that this song was initially like I need you friend because the song basically is that they are happy when they are together and they forget all the worries that they have in their personal lives but since it did not went very well with the beat they changed it to I need you girl . It is not exactly about a girl
That was just an assumption that the fandom made, BTS never actually said it was suppose to be 'friend'. I think it was probably always 'girl' since the song is pretty romantic-directed. However when looking at the MV, 'friend' is definitely what they were going for.
@@ce51snehavs71 He may have mentioned it relating to the MV, but I really don’t think he ever talked about the song being about friendship or about having to change the lyrics.
You started the BTS universe! Next is the on stage prologue (I suggest watching this before Run). The song featured in the video is Butterfly. It would be a good idea to watch the lyric video for this song to hear the whole thing (this video features part of it) it’s such a beautiful song -one of my favs😄💜💜💜
I need you 'girl' RM has said it more means friend, but it didnt sound right in the song so they did girl. The storyline is part of the BTS universe. They are all friends in this universe who go through different things when apart. Deffo watch the next video may make a bit more sense.
That was just an assumption that the fandom made, BTS never actually said it was suppose to be 'friend'. I think it was probably always 'girl' since the song is pretty romantic-directed. However when looking at the MV, 'friend' is definitely what they were going for here.
I still remember when this first came out I loved this immediately. Love this whole album too!! This is honestly still my favorite era of BTS, the whole most beautiful part series albums. This was my first ever comeback as a fan of theirs and looking at them now I feel so happy on how far they have come.
OMGG I'm so happy that y'all reacted to this. The mv is the beginning of the Bangtan Universe (BU) which is a storyline that goes through their mvs. The next one after I need you is On Stage Prologue and then Run. It's kinda important to react to the videos in order so that you don't miss anything and you don't get confused.
The album this song is from is called 'the most beautiful moment in life' which is how BTS choose to describe the phase of 'youth'. I'm very loosely paraphrasing this but Namjoon has spoken about how sadness and happiness are part of a cycle and one cannot exist or be felt without the other which he also expresses in these lyrics "It goes round and round, why do I keep coming back". The mv and song explores extreme emotional ups and downs that ultimately reveal how beautiful life is in our youth because we live it so passionately. I think it's such a meaningful way to perceive the pain of youth and life in general.
Big Hit please give them the happy ending that they deserve 😭 i dont know how much i've cried reading the webtoon and the notes and until now I still read over again. Im tellin u this si just the beginning of brain wrecking story of bts universe. I Need U was their first music show win after 2 yrs of competing and proving that the industry indeed need them.
ohhhhh myyyy god!!! i never thought u guys would react to this, but im sooo freaking haopy that you did! I need U’s theory is more focus on the visual side, instead of the lyrics. I discovered bts during Dope era, buts this is what get me into their rabbit hole and became an army! Thank you for reacting to our boys and gald that you liked it! Keep up with the good work and btw im a fan of your songs and podcasts!
This was the golden era of BTS, 'the most beautiful moment in life' was musical genius; the music, the videos, the lyrics, the concepts and visuals were just pure magic. I miss it so much 💜
I Need U was a huge turning point in BTS's career. This got them their first music show win. Also this started the whole BTS universe. This was the first part of their HYYH/Most Beautiful Moment in Life series. Then Run started the second part and then that led into Wings I believe. It's amazing really. There's videos explaining the whole universe and yall should definitely check them out. You guys should do this for a lot of groups where yall go back in time and check ouy their origins. Some groups added or lost members and some groups started out with completely different concepts. I think you'll enjoy that.
The girl here was supposed to friend actually..... But I wasn't very fitting in the track so they changed it....this is why you don't see any female love interest here
That was just an assumption that the fandom made, BTS never actually said they changed the lyrics. I think it was probably always 'girl' since the song is pretty romantic-directed. However when looking at the MV, 'friend' is definitely what they were going for.
@@ipurpleu1668 yeah I agree I feel even if there wasn't a lot of a girl there was one particular seen when taehyung was fighting an abusive man and there was a girl there
This song is probably right up there with Gangnam Style as the most influential and probably the greatest kpop songs of all time bcoz it started the legend of BTS!!! Gave them their first music show win, their first top 5 single in korea, one of the most iconic choreos in kpop and the mv started the Bighit Universe which is an amazing fictional storyline of the members created by Bighit
i remember watching this music video and crying my eyes out. especially after watching the highlight reel. you definitely need to watch it to understand the bts storyline.
I LOVE THIS ERA SO MUCH, theyre not too much showing visual, even a single choreo from the song, but actually the choreo is sosososososososoksosososos good, and they serving a story and their outfit look so cozy, anw the number on the train or truck or whatevah, it was a clue for their comeback and story now, i mean around 2020, bighit is insane, also anw suga so attractive on that white shirt and ripped jeans outfit, and act like frustrated boyfriend, omg ok bye
One of the thing you’ll notice is that when they’re alone all of them struggle with different things and it’s also show when they’re together they’re happy. I Need you is a very special video they first win in music bank . It give you a little glimpse of each of their story if you guys watch the epilogue it will make more sense
I Need You is one of the first MVs exploring the "Bangtan Universe" that is continued to be revealed through out their music videos and their games, you can know the story by reading the "Save Me" webtoon and the "notes" books that is included in their albums packages... It's really really good how intricate and connected it is, its really worth checking out!!! It's also so relatable to so many people, it covers the topics of mental health issues, abuse, depression, suicide, friendship and so much more!! Also watch the Xceleste explanation videos, those will help greatly
This is the beginning of the BTS Universe, you’re on the right track Each of the members have a storyline, Jin is the pivotal member through it all Hope you continue with On Stage: Prologue
oh you guys would love so much the storyline! Wish you had the time o get into that, there are connections in multiple videos, it's complex and awesome!
The MV doesn’t have that much connection to the song It’s connected to the BU (BTS Universe) which was so so exciting back then and even till now Reading notes and having theories after every time they release something I’ve too many memories that makes me excited and wanting to go back to live through these feelings again I really recommend watching in order to get a little bit of the storyline
This whole storyline is the thing that got me hooked on bts ngl. It is one of the coolest things I think I have ever seen an artist do...not just intertwining their MV’s to tell a single story but releasing extra stuff to pack into it and legit turn it into an entire universe. I’ve watched all of the connected MV’s like 5 times from start to finish and every time I watch them I find or figure out something new. I really liked their music and off stage personas a lot and that stuff has kept me hooked but as soon as I discovered this whole thing I knew I was super invested....detective cap on because like you I HAD SO MANY QUESTIONS.... and the storyteller in me loved that the answers were as unclear as they were😂 Warning I do see a lot of people telling you what order you should watch these in and while I would love for you to watch them... you will be soooo confused😂
that part where everyone was sad while tae was laughing always gets me thinking if it was a mistake or if tae reached a point where he started laughing when he was sad, somethin that indicates signs of insanity since he had a very troubled house hold in this universe that they are portraying
This is the start. Their first really big hit and the video pretty much everything after will have some kind of tie in or reference too. Even in “ON” which is a 2020 music video
The RUN mv is sort of a continuation of this along with its album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt. 2, these two mini albums made me become a fan because of how unfiltered they were, their songs expressed different struggles so well and i immediately connected with them. Thank you so much for reacting, you guys are some of the only reactors who are super spot on in your interpretations of BTS’ music, i love watching you guys.
This mv actually is a part of the storyline of the whole bts universe. All of their older mvs connect and form Bu(bts universe) which is also continued in a webtoon. Its like a whole storyline which is so fuckin complicated but so interesting. And its so sad, just when you think they are getting a happy ending boom some shit goes down. The condensed version is that they are all friends with shit ton of problems and are all dying. Jin gets the power to time travel and is trying to save all of them but someone always ends up dying in the end so he trying to figure out a way to save everyone.
I love BTS older songs being the beginning of their amazing storyline and they just hit different. Love BTS whole discography but their older songs will never be beat in my opinion 😭
My favourite song!!!! Thank you!!! The "girl" they all have is their addictions...pills, smokes, alcohol, etc. And they "need that girl" but can't just let her go.
Finally! This is part of the BU universe, a stroyline that goes through their mvs, it's difficult to fully understand without reading the webtoon and notes but it's so cool to see people reacting and trying to understand the story. It's was cool see you try to undertand the meaning, you had some good points.
the song has lyrics about a girl but the video isn’t about a love story as you guessed ~ it’s about the struggles of youth (drugs, depression, suicide, abuse, heartbreak, poverty) but they’re happy in every scene where they’re together. And yes you are right Jin is the one that is trying to “save” them. Next in the chronology comes Prologue On Stage! Then RUN MV :D
Just a background, bts’ albums are in trilogies and are pretty much connected. It’s basically how young boys go through life until adulthood. The first one (No More Dream, N.O, Boy In Luv, Danger, War of Hormone) is about school and criticizing the system. The second one (I Need U, Dope, Young Forever, Run, Fire, Save Me, BS&T) is about struggles of youth and encouraging fellow millenials. The third one is about self discovery, understanding love and loving oneself (Serendipity, DNA, Euphoria, Singularity, Fake Love, Epiphany) and the last one (Persona, Boy with luv, Ego, Shadow) is about self-discovery and self-accetance. I Need U belongs to the 2nd trilogy, hence why, they are living like troubled teens who only find comfort when they are with their friends. If you guys really want to understand the story, you might want to watch Prologue next, and then Run MV and then Young Forever).
This is actually a part of the Bangtan Universe story where the members played certain roles but still having their names used. Its a story of different struggles of teenagers with different family situations, mental health and most especially friendship too. The story extends to the a webtoon named Save Me, their HYYH notes(two books), album notes, a blog, MVs, and the Bangtan Universe story simulation game. P.S. Their MVs which are part of the BU arent 100% about the song lyrics too. its about the BU story. 😊

as everyone in the comments explained, the video's visuals are very much part of their "bangtan universe" storyline where each member has their own fictional struggle in that universe and this mv was the first one to properly map out each of their characters. the storyline was hinted way before this mv, but this is the first time it's ever been story-heavy and they develop the stories even more with their mvs after this one. "i need you" along with "run" are the only 2 mvs that completely delves into the storyline and the other mvs have little hints here and there and some others are completely disconnected from the storyline. there are lots of content provided by bighit that maps out the storyline through mvs, extra videos, short films, books and twitter posts and it's fun for us armys to decode the storyline and put the puzzle together. it's quite interesting and i would highly suggest you check it out in your free time if you're interested, but just a warning, it's extremely confusing and you gotta be quite invested in the storyline to put everything together, so please feel free to watch a bunch of yt videos theorising the storyline, it might help a little with understanding.
If i remember correctly, the original lyrics was actually supposed to be "i need u friend" because it's supposed to be about the members, however it was changed into "i need u girl" bc it sounded better
That was just an assumption that the fandom made, BTS never actually said they changed the lyrics. I think it was probably always 'girl' since the song is pretty romantic-directed, the lyrics don't really relate to the members' relationship at all. However when looking at the MV, 'friend' is definitely what they were going for there.

*I like how u caught tae smiling like a pabo for a serious concept..that boi---*
I’m gonna give you the order for this first fase:
I need you
On stage: Prologue
Run
Young Forever
Fun Fact: This is their first win song. And this song really catch a lot of hearts💜
well, The next video in the bts universe is "on stage: prologue" hope this is the next reaction, it also features one of my favourite BTS songs.
@@ipurpleu1668 but I think I've heard RM saying it Lemme check
@@ce51snehavs71 He may have mentioned it relating to the MV, but I really don’t think he ever talked about the song being about friendship or about having to change the lyrics.
This song never gets old
Billboard call it 'The Kpop Song of the decade'.
The next one after I need you is
On Stage Prologue and then Run.
Welcome to the Bangtan-Universe (Storyline) 💜💜💜
this mv and song are legendaries, it all changed after they released i need u, it's one of my favorite songs ever
Omg I NEED U is my fave BTS title track
ohhhhh myyyy god!!! i never thought u guys would react to this, but im sooo freaking haopy that you did!
You guys should check out danger the next time, It’s from 2014, it’s also kind of dark song but in a good way.
RM rap verse is so good there
This was the golden era of BTS, 'the most beautiful moment in life' was musical genius; the music, the videos, the lyrics, the concepts and visuals were just pure magic. I miss it so much 💜
This is the song that gave them their first win! So it's a pretty big deal, I was WAITING for this.
Thank you!!
Pls watch it in order, next should be prologue then run and then young forever. HYYH was such a great era 🙏
@@ipurpleu1668 oh is that so....I wasn't very active on internet during hyyh era so I didn't know
@@ipurpleu1668 yeah I agree I feel even if there wasn't a lot of a girl there was one particular seen when taehyung was fighting an abusive man and there was a girl there
@@moongi852 but the girl is not an romantic interest.....she is playing tae's sister......
@@madhumita4377 oh really ?
Not them stumbling on the BU Storyline 😂😂
This song is probably right up there with Gangnam Style as the most influential and probably the greatest kpop songs of all time bcoz it started the legend of BTS!!! Gave them their first music show win, their first top 5 single in korea, one of the most iconic choreos in kpop and the mv started the Bighit Universe which is an amazing fictional storyline of the members created by Bighit
It's a PART OF A BTS UNIVERSE.
i remember watching this music video and crying my eyes out. especially after watching the highlight reel. you definitely need to watch it to understand the bts storyline.
Everytime I see the mv I get goosebumps and chills during V's part.. BTS' acting is so amazing especially V's part was insane
I Need You - happiness in the midst of sadness
Run - sadness in the midst of happiness
I LOVE THIS ERA SO MUCH, theyre not too much showing visual, even a single choreo from the song, but actually the choreo is sosososososososoksosososos good, and they serving a story and their outfit look so cozy, anw the number on the train or truck or whatevah, it was a clue for their comeback and story now, i mean around 2020, bighit is insane, also anw suga so attractive on that white shirt and ripped jeans outfit, and act like frustrated boyfriend, omg ok bye
You're absolutely a delight to watch, entertaining and thought provoking. Every single time. Keep it up! 🙌
One of the thing you’ll notice is that when they’re alone all of them struggle with different things and it’s also show when they’re together they’re happy. I Need you is a very special video they first win in music bank . It give you a little glimpse of each of their story if you guys watch the epilogue it will make more sense
My all time favorite song by then and also the first song I heard by them! 💜💜💜
Also watch the Xceleste explanation videos, those will help greatly
you won’t get blocked lmao ! many people have reacted 😂!!
The way Efra freaked out 😂
@@andsprite7071 ikr 😂i was like how tf did the video become blurry all of a sudden
I mean RUclips has become a pain in the ass the last couple of years lmao
This is the beginning of the BTS Universe, you’re on the right track
Each of the members have a storyline, Jin is the pivotal member through it all
Hope you continue with On Stage: Prologue
BTS' old songs are just a whole other level of good. Nothing will compare, not even their newer music
I❣️BTS.. THANKS FOR THIS WALESKA & EFRA 💕
Oh man this song brings back so much memories!😭 it was the start of their fame
Hands down 🙌 my favorite BTS track ever. Never gets old. 🥰
This was the turning point for bts. Musically and also their career as a whole
oh you guys would love so much the storyline! Wish you had the time o get into that, there are connections in multiple videos, it's complex and awesome!
The MV doesn’t have that much connection to the song
It’s connected to the BU (BTS Universe) which was so so exciting back then and even till now
Reading notes and having theories after every time they release something
I’ve too many memories that makes me excited and wanting to go back to live through these feelings again
I really recommend watching in order to get a little bit of the storyline
This whole storyline is the thing that got me hooked on bts ngl. It is one of the coolest things I think I have ever seen an artist do...not just intertwining their MV’s to tell a single story but releasing extra stuff to pack into it and legit turn it into an entire universe. I’ve watched all of the connected MV’s like 5 times from start to finish and every time I watch them I find or figure out something new.
I really liked their music and off stage personas a lot and that stuff has kept me hooked but as soon as I discovered this whole thing I knew I was super invested....detective cap on because like you I HAD SO MANY QUESTIONS.... and the storyteller in me loved that the answers were as unclear as they were😂
Warning I do see a lot of people telling you what order you should watch these in and while I would love for you to watch them... you will be soooo confused😂
The sequel to this is RUN. This is basically the beginning of a storyline that runs through their music videos : the BU.
this is bts songs that brought them to mainstream success
I can't believe waleska see taehyung looking directly to the camera at 2:20 😂 (everytine i watch this mv that scene always trip me off)
This started the storyline and will be very visible in the succeeding videos. Even the short stories and video games.
Its part 1 of the storyline of album.. all the song is connected in every song.. and connected to next album..
that part where everyone was sad while tae was laughing always gets me thinking if it was a mistake or if tae reached a point where he started laughing when he was sad, somethin that indicates signs of insanity since he had a very troubled house hold in this universe that they are portraying
With this song BTS got their 1st win ㅠㅠ This was the start of their big journey.
Btw this is the start of BU(Bts Universe) which is a huge storyline.
Gracias. BTS made us think profoundly since this mv came out... Oh the theories and the universe around it.
I love BTS older songs being the beginning of their amazing storyline and they just hit different. Love BTS whole discography but their older songs will never be beat in my opinion 😭
you just entered a whole universe
2015 and 16 is the best bts era and has the best songs and mvs
I need u é TUDO!
You are entering in BTS universe and storyline , good luck guyssm i recommend Run mv next ;)
Even if your not an army and you know this song you recognise its perfections ALL OF BTS OLD SONGS WERE BOPS
the song has lyrics about a girl but the video isn’t about a love story as you guessed ~ it’s about the struggles of youth (drugs, depression, suicide, abuse, heartbreak, poverty) but they’re happy in every scene where they’re together. And yes you are right Jin is the one that is trying to “save” them. Next in the chronology comes Prologue On Stage! Then RUN MV :D
i need you , the song that chance everything for bts.
Definitely one of the best BTS era
That was the beginning of the BTS Universe, it starts in that era and it's still going on. Please watch the prologue
This has easily become my favorite song from them.
I really want you guys to go through this storyline ❤️
ARMY PLEASE DON’T SPOIL ANYTHING UNTIL THE SAY THEY DON’T WANT TO GET INTO IT ON THERE OWN💜

Welcome to the BU Universe
This started the BU. Bangtan Universe and arches with other songs.
Woaaah, welcome to BTS universe series.. There's an explanation of this by Xceleste.
Mind blowing guaranteed! 😁
i really want this BTS back for at least one era
the frst song that I heard and watch is i need you and I really love it...this song make me become army
as everyone in the comments explained, the video's visuals are very much part of their "bangtan universe" storyline where each member has their own fictional struggle in that universe and this mv was the first one to properly map out each of their characters. the storyline was hinted way before this mv, but this is the first time it's ever been story-heavy and they develop the stories even more with their mvs after this one. "i need you" along with "run" are the only 2 mvs that completely delves into the storyline and the other mvs have little hints here and there and some others are completely disconnected from the storyline. there are lots of content provided by bighit that maps out the storyline through mvs, extra videos, short films, books and twitter posts and it's fun for us armys to decode the storyline and put the puzzle together. it's quite interesting and i would highly suggest you check it out in your free time if you're interested, but just a warning, it's extremely confusing and you gotta be quite invested in the storyline to put everything together, so please feel free to watch a bunch of yt videos theorising the storyline, it might help a little with understanding.
actually the original lyrics were: i need you friend
but they changed it because it didnt sound right to: i need you girl
If i remember correctly, the original lyrics was actually supposed to be "i need u friend" because it's supposed to be about the members, however it was changed into "i need u girl" bc it sounded better
That was just an assumption that the fandom made, BTS never actually said they changed the lyrics. I think it was probably always 'girl' since the song is pretty romantic-directed, the lyrics don't really relate to the members' relationship at all. However when looking at the MV, 'friend' is definitely what they were going for there.
