Hey Brian! It's a nice one, but I wish it had that lock on it. It's been with me on our last couple of big trips. I had the Sony G version years ago when we went to Costa Rica, and I was ready to throw it into the ocean after the first few days (double the weight of the Tamron, murder on my neck)!
Hey! How did you update the firmware on your tamron 70-300 lens for Sony? Mine does not have a usb port nor do I find a compatible tap in console for the e-mount. Help?
Hi! You need a computer with the update downloaded onto it from Tamron. With a full battery in your camera, connect it to your computer via USB, and launch the updater. It will find your lens, but make certain you follow the provided instructions. The most important thing is that the USB connection is uninterrupted during the update.
