Do you realize that the four of you are doing for landscape photography what Top Gear (Brit version) did for car shows? You guys have great chemistry and are both entertaining and informative. Keep up the great collaborations! And I like Adam’s dead trees.
I agree about RUclips being less of a social media platform than insta or FB. It has more value I think. I don’t even watch tv anymore, just RUclips because you always learn something new.
I'm absolutely loving your channel, and watching you all at these stunning locations. My best buddy passed away a little over a year ago, and we had that friendship that you and Nick seem to have. So watching you doing what you love, and having a laugh whilst doing it, helps me remember him and his humour. I hope our paths cross some day. It would be great to meet you all. 👊
This collaboration between the four of you has made some of the best vlog viewing over the past few weeks. Really interesting to see each of your different takes on the same scenes. Much like when yourself and Adam shoot together, but magnified again. Really hope you all get together again at some point, has been great viewing. Would be epic to see you all over/back in Blighty for a week or two!
Stunning images (as always), great banter (Uncle Grumpy steals the show with his one liners again) and a really inspirational chat with Nick. Best channel on RUclips.
I think the sentiment that you feel like you know all of these folks from being addicted to the videos is pretty spot on...I enjoyed the discussion at the end of this one ...I don't normally have the attention span to watch through too much static chatting...but this one was worth the watch.
I just wanted to say thank you for making it thoroughly entertaining to learn about photography. Your humor and wit and the fact that you can love something so much and not take it so seriously is refreshing. I love watching all the guys but rarely do I laugh out loud doing it. Thanks!
I am amazed at how many videos each of you put out for only being up there a couple days. Awesome job and way to keep all of us mere mortals entertained.
Gavin, your scene analysis is second to none. Well-described and as far as I’m concerned, spot-on every time. It’s the best thing about your show, second only to the show’s humor and production value. Keep up the great work.
Loving your videos - especially the ones where you have exchanges with your friends about the photographic locations and experiences you share with them.
The wife asked me what I was watching and then I realized I was just listening to you two yapping about photography stories and the action had stopped!😂 I’m a little ashamed to say I loved every minute!!
Informal discussions is key to "dress" you youtubers and make it possible to learn the unscripted side of you. It's also very entertaining when paired with a good sense of humor. I like it a lot!
Great images Gavin, and that chat with Nick was really special. Great guy! Been loving this series with my landscape superheroes! It's like X-Men or something!
Gibbs, Heaton, their trees 🌲🌳 & *YOUR* commentary on it 😂😂😂! It's not my cuppa tea either, but I do appreciate their enthusiasm & ability to "see" those shots (& then process them).
If you can, get the 100-400mm lens, you got some snazzy images with it. The mountains were giving that mystical look to them, stunning. Nick's shot of that wave, that was a clinker of a shot too. Really enjoyed the chat in the car, I'd spend hours chatting to other photographers it's such great chat. I do hope you keep with youtube, Facebook and sometimes Instagram have a lot of negativity, I find anyway. I've learned a lot from all of your episodes and have noticeably improved on composition, bracketing, focus stacking, detail and lighting, even my locals notice this too lol the fact that your out there and sharing your advice and tips and the best of craic is fantastic and free which is very generous of you and it is very much appreciated. Thanks again ☺️
I LOVE watching you guys together. It's literally my favorite thing I look forward to when I feel bit down on my photography and want to get motivated :) As others said I don't watch TV either. I just watch youtube everyday. I enjoy it far more than instagram and facebook. I may end up just leaving facebook just not sure.
Oh, those dark denim skies with the bright white peaks! I miss that area and these images are giving me all the feels. The Island is beautiful but the Rockies are the true Canadian gem. I'm going to be a little sad when this series of videos end. Thanks for these! So inspired to go for a visit with my camera :)
Absolutely! The early morning sun hitting Temple or the Victoria glacier while the skies were still a beautiful indigo was the best part about being on top the ski hill all night long. The best morning was in Canmore though. Denim skies, white peaks and yellow larch trees. Very juicy!
Your vlogs crack me up every time, I look forward to the comedy as much as the photography. Brilliant images this week, hilarious v/o. Looking forward to the next one 👍
Awesome mate great chat in the car while waiting for Uncle grumpy and Thomas. Wow Chemistry, Photography, and a bunch of nutters enjoying themselves, hay the real Top Gear is back, all be it about photography ! Nice one guys.
This is possibly one of your best videos for me. Great images and banter (as usual) but also some serious moments. Your description of that rock and how the snow formation around it happened, that's the kind of stuff that photographers spot, think about, evaluate and appreciate. I never used to do that a before I got a camera. Loved this series Gavin 👍🏼
Gavin, you rocked another video. I appreciate the effort that goes into to each of your videos. I have to say nobody is else like you. Keep up the great work dude.
Great video, this was the first one I've watched from you after listened to you on the landscape photography show. Really cool ill watch more of that. Really cool to see the backstage an a very authentic way specially on the heavy metal take. 😂😂😂
I can In Australia, Queensland and I can drive /tour you around the South Island of NZ been about 9 times also Gavin can I get your email trying to send a thank you email to yourself, Thomas, Nick and Adam grim Gibbs
Since you and nev cartledge came along the humours gone up, your vlogs tickle me and nev had thomas scraping his window for a fiver 😂 great content again enjoyed it gavin.
Nice to see this series continue Gavin!! Your humour really brigs a lot to the videos mate. Glad you love the Homeland so much, winter wonderland in the Rockies is amazing!! Would love to know if you've photographed around Golden, B.C.? That telephoto shot was awesome!
Love that image at 6:07 Indeed its not your normal stuff, but nice nice nice... AND you understand depth and black point! Bravo! (LOL) Thanks mate, Ewan (NZ)
I must tell you that "liking" my comment is a real plus for your site. I subscribe to over 50 sites and no one else is doing that. It makes me think it's actually worth making one. Good job! And I still can't get the long lens image out of my mind. As my friend Tom would say "Stunning"!
Luved this! Lots of great shots and info! What a difference a long lens makes on depth/compression and composition. Always good to try something new right? Great conversation with Nick about life, photography and social media. I agree RUclips is the best! Thx Mate 🍻
I'm pretty sure I'm laughing far too loudly whilst learning things watching your videos. Completely agree on the social media comment, unfortunately or maybe for others, fortunately I tend to stick to IG as I can not be arsed with all the b roll etc but absolute kudos to you guys that put in the effort and it pays off. I'll stick to hiking and taking a few images along the way.
I cant wait to get my hands on the canon rf 100-500. I love telephoto landscape shots. It really is a different style of photography as you need to switch your vision for composition completely. But i love the images. Too bad canon has delivery issues...it might take another three months to get it...
Damn you go pro I was really enjoying that chat . I seem to enjoy you guys chat more than the photo stuff lol . Is that wrong ? . You guys have hit on something here it really works .
Saw that telephoto of the peak and said out loud "Holy F'n hell" according to the wife that's not appropriate talk 😂 I told her that's what a long lens will do for you and got a nod of approval :)
I see a lot of people misusing term alpenglow. That wasn't alpenglow. Alpenglow is a moment when it's dark (before sunrise or after sunset) and the mountain starts to glow with a faint light. For example in your video "Blue Hour Photography in Winter Wonderland" at 17:15, that was alpenglow.
Wow, Nick nailed his killer shot handheld! That again proves technique comes secondary to creativity. Btw, could you please link that video of Nick's here. I'm sure he will appreciate you doing this. Thanks a lot!!
I really think if u just add the words landscape photography and the country name and the place name where you shoot can really bring more viewers in.. Because people will eventually search those words and they wl come across your channel.. But then i wl keep supporting and best of luck for your future
Gavin, Nice long shot. Is there a condition for workshop attendees, that they must share their kit with you? Should we bring an extra lens-baby, baby? Thank-You, Mike
Somebody, please tell me at T 0:40 what is moving on the right shoulder of the road, near the vehicle at the end of the bridge? Looks like wildlife? Thanks!
Thank you Gavin. I loved the entire video, especially your "in the car" chat with Big Nick. Now to drill down on the chat a bit...I love that you got inspired by your experience with Nicks long lens, and that you dig his wave photo (as I do too). Your mountain shot and Nicks wave shot make very good argument for long lens in landscape photography. Cheers and all the best mate! Aloha to you and your fellow photo adventurers!
Do you realize that the four of you are doing for landscape photography what Top Gear (Brit version) did for car shows? You guys have great chemistry and are both entertaining and informative. Keep up the great collaborations! And I like Adam’s dead trees.
Completely agree with Dave, you guys should turn this into a legit series
I bag Mr Heaton as Captain Slow!! ;-)
@@IainHC1 That would make Adam Gibbs The Stig ...... Bit left field, but I'll go with it.
Another vote. TOP LENS
:-D
I agree about RUclips being less of a social media platform than insta or FB. It has more value I think. I don’t even watch tv anymore, just RUclips because you always learn something new.
Exactly!
Right on! I see RUclips as being more of a learning platform- in this case photography techniques, adventures, and laughs at Gibbs expense!
indeed :-)
Agreed!
What I love by watching all your videos is seeing how this channel has changed and grown.
I'm absolutely loving your channel, and watching you all at these stunning locations.
My best buddy passed away a little over a year ago, and we had that friendship that you and Nick seem to have.

I'm enjoying watching some of your old videos.
The 4 of you are absolutely amazing to watch for entertainment
and education
Lucky git, who doesn't want to take a spin on Nick Page's long lens!
bwahahahahaha
Awesome video, Gavin - especially the in-car chat at the end. Brilliant.
I really enjoy the informal chats, it feels like sitting with mates & yet I still learn stuff.
But your face 😡 when discussing FB & Insta 🤣
Yep, absolute disgust!
The car talks are a definite go!
I'm really enjoying seeing this series of a single photo trip told four ways.
These videos have been so great of the 4 of you!! Hope you guys do more trips!!
Gavin - that shot with Nick’s lens... incredible!
This is excellent - there's something 'right' about the balance of photography, scenery, humour and personalities.
I think the sentiment that you feel like you know all of these folks from being addicted to the videos is pretty spot on...I enjoyed the discussion at the end of this one ...I don't normally have the attention span to watch through too much static chatting...but this one was worth the watch.
Brilliant! You now have been bitten by the 100-400 fever. Amazing image and enjoyable conversation.

Beautiful, it is amazing what that lens can open up. I'm one of the fifty that emailed Mr. Paige about the wave shot.
As always great comedy value. Reminds me of the British TV series ‘Last Of The Summer Wine’ with Uncle Grumpy playing the part of Compo!!
Love all your videos Gavin! Really enjoyed your collaboration with uncle grumpy, Nick and Thomas. Eagerly awaiting your next video!
Nick's fav shot is also my fav shot he's taken and he's taken a lot of killer shots as have you. That wave shot is wicked!
Great images Gavin, and that chat with Nick was really special. Great guy! Been loving this series with my landscape superheroes! It's like X-Men or something!
