Couldn't say it earlier, I'll say it now: incredible, seriously, especially that scene with giant machine and a robot on a road, because of those people falling from that embankement and a filter, it really looks like it was actually recorded by someone with private handheld camera in 1997.
thanks bruh for sharing your invaluable reviews. It means a lot!
Since the publication of the original art book, I've seen quite a few beautiful - and downright terrifying - shorts and takes on the source material. This one is the first that touches one of the key undercurrents of the book: the sense of nostalgia in the face of a collapsing society and a transformation of what constitutes "humanity". Its beautiful, sad, and truly poetic.
See now this is what the Electric State movie should have been. A slow, low budget, quiet story filmed across an Ireland/Iceland landscape with beautiful imagery to create a real sense of atmosphere. Kind of how they made that movie "The Creator". Not whatever Marvel styled action-comedy Netflix decided to make with the book's title slapped on.
This short film including the soundtrack really should have been the template for the actual upcoming film, soon to be released. Excellent!
If there should ever be a remake of the film later, Berkay Tunali should be the director and producer.
wow bro, thanks for your trust. This was no budget work but If I can find enough budget or time for the next project I would like to create something related on Simon's world but in a better regenerative and sustainable future world in the solar punk genre.
Maybe a crowdfunding effort to garner support for a film, should Russo Brother's film version of the story bombs?
I hope the Russo brothers do justice for Simon's work on this. If not well receieved, it will make me think of the first "Dune" movie(which is a cult favorite of mine!). The idea of a remake got kicked around for years after the first release, before a really good remake was released by Denis Villeneuve. The newer version is more true to Frank Herbert's concept of Dune.
I did listen to most of the album "Derelict" from Carbon Based Lifeforms, out of curiosity. A lot of interesting music/art out of Sweden(and Norway), partly my ancestral grounds(my late grandmother).
Godspeed, if you pursue a film endeavor!@@Berkay-Tunali
Better than the Netflix adaptation....🙁
Fr
yes.
Ngl I had high hopes for Netflix… until I saw that first preview 😢
Truer words couldn't have been said.
I HATE NETFLIX NOW!!
This is the reason why i love people animating stalenhag's creation
Always wanted to see Stalenhag's work brought to life. You did an awesome job 💛
Same! They have so much potential and hauntingly beautiful.
Tales from the loop is a series on amazon
I've rewatched this video a good 20 times by now and it keeps getting better every time
This needs to be a movie asap
it is on the making
Russo brothers are currently filming it with Millie bobby brown as lead. Supposedly coming out in 2024
It's based on an art book. They captured the imagery very well here.
coming out soon 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
it's 2025
This looks GORGEOUS
Indeed it does!!
@@jurgenvermeulen5355 Yes
Also finally another person in the comments lol
._.
NO WAY this is seriously impressive man!!!!! I'm actually kind of scared as to why you have so little subscribers because this is something else! I can't even begin to imagine how this was made or how long it took! Fantastic job bringing this stunning art to a whole new plane!!
This is is one of the most amazing things that I have ever seen, tgank you for doing a perfect job of recreating Simon Stàlenhag’s work
Simply amazing. It gave me a strange, deep emotion I don't even have a name for...
A MASTERPIECE!!!! this is what we could've gotten if Netfilix didnt ruin it....
This should be the trailer of the upcoming Electric State film. It's really cool!
now see that's the kind of stuff I would've loved to see instead of whatever netflix if trying to cook up with the russo's, here you can feel the dedication to the source material and not something else disguised as some action trash we're getting instead on the big screen! Anyhow great work man keep at it!
This is really good! I absolutely love The Electric State, I think this was really true to the book!
This is the true trailer for the upcoming movie..
Love they used Carbon Based Life Forms as the background music. 😊
Nice work this is impressive
Love this. Captures the books perfectly
Absolutely magnificent👍!
._.👍
._.?
NOOOOO
????
🤓🤓🤓🤓🤜🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣????
This is what I wish The Electric State movie was going to be!
Just bought the book , broken homes are a part of our gen x lives , reflected in the pages. Thank you Simon
The book was fantastic but so sad, I wasn't expecting it.
FYI:they are making a movie about this and chris pratt is there
Tales from the loop inspiration going crazy 🤣
Bc it's same author
@@josef.ramoss.8457 i know thats the joke
Wow this is REALLY well done, you've managed to capture the essence stalenhag's work in this. You've got some real talent!
Bro those vr people are like charge zombie in L4d2 ☠️
I will lie to myself that this is the trailer of the movie
IF this was a full movie.
i would watch it over and over.
The book the labyrinth is amazing amazing.this video is class aswell .the music well on par.
I got the art book, amazing visuals and it deserved a purchase. This vid is great too!
Glad you like it!
This is incredible!! The best version I've seen anyone do with this project so far. It must e super exciting knowing about the Netflix one now
I was gonna say “this reminds me of tales from the loop”, then I realised it’s the same artist
I think the new movie is going to be too xmen marvel etc and not enough blade runner 2001 oblivion. This short is probably going to be much closer to the books intention and better over all.
Reminds me of the Show Tales from the Loop, although short lived, I liked it. I hope this sees completion.
Tales from the loop was originally made by the same person who made the electric state
Yep, you nailed the feel 100% great work, love to see more
What could have been...
I love this artwork!!! Great concept
Looks better than the actual movie
It’s not out yet !😭
Let's hope that Netflix is able to make it feel like this
the Netflix movie is dead on arrival. It has nothing to do with the original artwork
Electric state would of been a better show than tales from the loop (Free on prime video) change my mind.
Netflix is doing a movie on it, comes out in 2025. Theres also a new ttrpg that just came out based on it, but I haven't heard great things about it.
That was well done!!!!
very intersting!
I know just enough about Stalenhag's work and the book this was based on to be impressed.
That was sick!
I really really really wish someone would make this idea of this world into a survival horror game
We seek meaning through others work, we seek validation through others opinions, we seek praise for others failures and we seek immortal from an efemiral existence. Let us not be betrayed by our own Dream😢
NETFLIX, MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!
One way to achieve what the woman speaking desires is to never leave the place you love in the first place. Perhaps the element that leads to the unwanted changes is that people who are unsatisfied leave for a period of time to gather themselves rather than staying put and working for change.
awesone
need a vr zombie xtra, count me in
Immediately superior to that Russo Bros slop.
This video is excellent!
Future of myhtOS
This. Is. Awesome.
Is this where that new movie comes fromv
Amazing!
I’m so sad this isn’t a full movie
Interesting use of the Illawarra region for the final 'live action' section - what inspired that choice of location?
This is far superior to the Russo brothers' trailer. It captures the rawness.
Wow!
This is cool music I'll have to read the art book
it's carbon based lifeforms from Sweden like Simon. In sweden art scene we trust! :)
That was a well spent 2 minutes
Wow
Netflix took this concept and Disneyfy it. Sad.
Well done . I often wonder if satalengag 's. Mechs are static and decaying or dynamic. . P.s. Are you a kiwi ?
nope I'm from Turkey bruh
I would say a video game
dude this looks like movie but is year a go
a yo nice movie
Who let bro cook
This is a short film alright
Why just not make the people wearing headset real
no budget first 1 min we create this world in Unreal Engine
This is what it looks like if AI Took over the world
._.👍
The movie doesn’t have the right soulless vibe
Too much talking. Doesn’t add to the incredible visual / musical experience that stands on it’s own, au contraire. Cheesy sentences all the more. Let’s hope this will not ruin the pire suggestive beauty of Simon’s work.
boring isnt it
It feels flat
