    I recorded vocals in an answering machine. If you can do that, you can record vocals on anything. Great video.

    I record all of my vox into the MPC standalone thru the Tascam Model 12. If I need more than the 8 audio tracks, I convert them to samples, like you mentioned. 💯

    Great Videos. Helped me a lot so far! But if you are a newbie like me and don't own a mixer: You can just insert the mic directly to the MPC. All you need is a cable with XLR on one side and a Jack on the other. You might not get hi end results, but it works!

      Yup it would certainly work, but you’d also have to sum it to mono since you’ll only be going in L or R. It’s also worth mentioning that the MPC X, Key 61 and Key 37 have preamps with an XLR input built in.

      @@oracularmusic Thx for your reply!Mono, but stereo in the output if input is set to 1 and output set to 1 and 2. I mean isn't a mic always mono? Sorry, i'm a noob, as mentioned

      @oracularmusic 6 месяцев назад +1

      @jandopandeiro Yup a mic/vocals are mono but yes as long as you set the input to whichever channel the mic is in (and not Output 1,2) then you’re good!

    I think you meant to say Condenser microphone or Dynamic mic. Either can be XLR, like my Shure Dynamic mic. Generally, Condenser Mics are standard for studio recording, while Dynamic mics are great for performing live. Great videos btw.

      You certainly could! So long as your mixer (or interface) has enough inputs.

    Bro! So, you would have to sequence the song first in "midi," mode, and then move the sequence order (Into, Verse, Chorus, Verse, Pre-Chorus, etc...), in order to add vocals right? That's what I'm getting from this video. If I'm wrong, please let me know. I'm struggling so much with recording vocals. What I'm doing is recording the song in "midi" mode (all 8 tracks), then I'm going to "Audio," mode and laying out the vocals, but for some reason, some of the tracks (instruments) in the midi mode go out of sequence, or even muted, so then I'm having to unmute the tracks and mute the right ones while recording vocals. I'm pulling hair, and I don't even have hair. Help please!

      I’m not sure what you mean by midi mode! But you would usually use song mode to sequence a song, although you don’t have to do that first. You can simply jump over to the audio tracks while having any sequence in context and record. So you could record the hook first, then the verse, then intro but sequence them in an entirely different order if you wanted. It would be no different than just choosing the order of your sequences like usual except there’s audio tracks inside the sequences!
