This presentation promotes dual coding and how it can be used to mitigate against cognitive overload in navigation. Dual Coding Theory and Cognitive Load Theory will be discussed alongside how graphic organisers can be used to support learners along their journey to be proficient navigators in adventure walking.
About the speaker:
Chris is a qualified teacher and mountain leader with experience in orienteering coaching and walk leading for a variety of organisations including The Ramblers’, RGS and the Long Distance Walkers Association and he is a panel member of RINs OANG.
