Patricia Büchler (born 1997), known professionally as Patty Gurdy, is a German hurdy-gurdy musician, singer, songwriter and RUclipsr. For German watchers: she is from Düsseldorf!
Thx for the nice reaction. :-) Patty is an independent musician from Germany, so no label or management has any say in what she's doing. Her artist name derives of course from her main instrument - the hurdy-gurdy - but on this new album "Tavern" she also plays recorders, octaveharpa (that's something like a bass-version of the old swedish folkinstrument nyckelharpa), celtic harp and percussions. Fun facts: To have Marko Hietala as a partner in this song was proposed by Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon) and he made the contact. Patty played the hurdy-gurdy on his album "Transitus" (2 songs) and obviously they stay in touch sinve then. The video was shot after the festival in Turku where Patty performed with Alestorm and the camera-guy was the "standard-photographer" of Alestorm. So you might call this a German-Finnish coproduction with some Dutch and Scottish assistance ...
Also worthy of mention is that Patricia was a student of Floor Jansen's when she still gave singing lessons... you see the European metal and folk scene is deeply interconnected🧐. Best regards Raoul G. Kunz
I guess you mix Patty with Noa. Noa Gruman (Scardust), a friend of Patty, was a student of Floor Jansen. But there is no indication that Patty ever was. Afaik they only met once and Floor gave a few hints to Patty about singing. There is a foto telling that and that's all.
Patty is Germany, Should check out her cover of Over the Hills to see her earlier music. She also sang in two Alestorm songs, The Dead Marauder and audio only in Zombies ate my pirate ship.
Near the end of the song Patty sings some words in German and Marko in Finnish. Patty is from Germany and Marko from Finland. If you want to hear Patty singing more operatic listen to The Flower Duet.
Patricia Buchler with an umlaut or 2 dots over the letter U in Buchler since she is from Germany. Her primary language is German, but she does a majority of her music singing in English and does her RUclips videos a large majority of the time in English as well. Many musicians use a different name then their real name so Patricia goes by Patty Gurdy as a musician name. Other notables are Patricia Giraldo, known musically as Pat Benatar, Ronnie James Padavona, known musically as Ronnie James Dio and Stefani Germanotta, known musically as Lady Gaga.
MARKOOOO!🤘🤘🤘
