@ Have used the grinder for some PVC cutting and it’s plenty powerful for that. I don’t like that it allowed me to buy 20V tools and now I have way too many 😃. I now have an impact (B3), SDS hammer drill, angle grinder and waiting for Sabre saw. As a result of these new tools I had to buy an 8Ah battery and wanted to try the 4Ah smart too…I am loving the 20V power but I am not liking some of the battery fitments to be honest, only downside. For example, the 4Ah smart is a little loose on the B3…Have you experiencing the same?
Excellent content! For me I think the green is enough for small work with good discs. For big jobs I use the cord. But like you I don't want the Performance I also hate the membranes.
I had a very early version of the green version that was faulty in 20 minutes. I bought raider pro, modified in 20 min to fit the Parkside battery. It was a win, there are 4 years of use of the raider, too bad they don't make them anymore.
I bought a green C3 with defective brushes, that was an easy fix. Used if for some time and at that point both the brushes and motor failed COMPLETELY! I got the F4. Failed in exactly the same way. I get the feeling this will be the same, although I will be a lot more careful third time around. I have to look at Raider, I have never had one of their tools, are they any good apart from the grinder you have?
While we're on wishes from Parkside, I would like to see some Performance 12V and 20V bandsaws, with high quality and well thought out table base accessories. The 12V version should be at least 60-65mm capable of cutting, like the Milwaukee 12V Fuel bandsaw. Oh, and some band accessories of good quality metal too, of multiple TheadsPerInch (or whatever metric equivalent there is). Pretty please, Parkside.
@BrokeLifeEU many of their products are well thought out, though maybe not originally by them, but with well executed designs. I suppose those designs had to undergo several generations of iterative improvements though, so there's that to suffer.
Interesting to see these head-to-head! Any recommendations for grease? I wonder if I could simply add in some ball bearing grease to my green grinder, or if I would have to wash out the head and not mix two different greases?
Give me a couple of days and I will let you know! That is my plan, some high temerature bering grease and we‘ll see what happens. But the grease that Parkside put in there is just a joke, no more than 5ml at best… I will remove all the original Parkside grease beforehand. It might be alright, but I just don‘t like mixing grease, oil, antifreeze etc. I either add the same or just replace it altogether.
Sooo, I just checked the prices for dem flexes and found that the 40V big booyy model is being sold for 60€ in Germany. Thing is... People don't like the push button control because apparently they used a crappy switch inside that's not protected against dust and the thing stops working after a few minutes of usage. "Stops working", can also mean that it isn't turning off.
They could have just used a better switch 🤔 but the membrane stuff is also eqsier and cheaper to manufacture I think. Or at least make the membrane buttons larger. I don‘t have cocktail sticks for fingers! The big chunky 230mm boy has a nice type of switch on it. I don‘t need one but I am considering it at €60 😁 and with the 12Ah batteries that I will need to test on something…
Obligatory comment. :) I like how you let the sparks fly into the camera 😂 Also: Oh noooo! No fancy foil buttons! How am I gonna use this? I love my performance flathead angle grinder, but the buttons really grind my gears. It's so annoying and unsafe - and it's stupid that you have to explain the use to anyone who wants to borrow your machine for a minute.
Thank you! Might not sound like much but apparently the obligatory comment pleases the algorithm 😁 the sparks cost me my case and protector but it was a sacrifice I was willing to make at the time. 😁 but at least next time there is a chance they won‘t ask to borrow it! Parkside, helping you not put your tools in the hands of others! Parkside, a brand that cares! 😁
The Performance version is not only good for doing heavier tasks, but will also outlive the cheaper versions from what I'm seeing. Just wtf is that type of corner-cutting with the grease lmao. I'm also down to see a Performance version with the standard buttons instead of the membrane ones. God forbid those membrane buttons fail while you're using the tool, there's so many things that could go wrong....otherwise if the price difference is ~40-50 euros at most between these two tools then I'd definitely go for the Performance. Quality over quantity!
The Performance stuff with Parkside has an Achilles heel though, the control boards for the brushless motors fail. That said that does not happen often, however I get the feeling it happens more often with the newer ones. A cordless angle grinder is a tricky tool to get right and Parkside are trying their best to get it wrong in all possible sorts of ways. But I just got this combo kit, because I need something for a bit of work with a flap disc so I hope it lasts, but even if not at the Black Friday price it is essentially a free grinder for the price of a battery and charger so that's nice. But I hope that one of these days they release a Performance angle grinder with normal buttons...
if you use a disk from the known brands i think even the green one cuts better and much faster. I once got parkside disks and it took me 3 disks and 20 min to make 6 cuts. the same cuts with bosch disk 5 minutes and no wear to the disk.
Can confirm that Parkside cutting discs are some of the worst I have ever used. I love the Bosch ones, unfortunately the only two identical ones I had were these Total ones. As for the grinding discs Parkside ones are fine for that.
I used the green with dewalt ceramic 1,1 mm disc, absolute pleasure for cutting angle iron and disc wear is very low. If pressing it will stop anyway but the disc make a lot of difference.
This combo got me in the 20V family. For 35€, I couldn’t resist. A grinder, 4.5A charger and 4A battery.
35€ for a 4Ah battery, 4,5A charger and this grinder is indeed the best way to get you in to the 20V system. How are you liking this kit so far?

Have one of these. Rather happy with it.
Did you change the old grease? I did so and have been abusing it with no issues for some time now.
Great video - and in Denmark I got it at 33€ - Black something
At that price it's a WIN!
€33 is that with a battery and charger 😲
Yep a 4 amp battery and a 4,5 amp charger
No matter how bad the grinder is at €33 can‘t pass that offer up!
Excellent content! For me I think the green is enough for small work with good discs. For big jobs I use the cord. But like you I don't want the Performance I also hate the membranes.
Thank you! Yes, the membrane stuff is making me question my sanity!
Parkside should really bring back the old controls.
Absolutely! I deeply hate the membranes! 😢
Another great video 📹
Thank you so much! You are too kind! 😌
Please test the Gisam 2800nm
I am working on making that video 😉

Can‘t put well thought out and Parkside in the same sentance I am afraid 🫣 I bet you they find a place to stick membrane buttons on.

You do make a good point there!

@@BrokeLifeEU sound advice thanks!
@@Failsafeman100 It is not much but I will let you know how it goes after I fill mine up with some grease.

Still waiting on the gisam 2800nm video
In Italy the priice with battery 4ah and charger is 40 euro.
I think doesnt matter how is grinder.
It is a good deal
Yes, at that price it looks like you pay for a battery & charger and get a free grinder 😅
great video, i am looking for green one with battery and charger.. for this price it worth it for hobby, in my opinion :)
Thank you! I think so as well, as long as you don‘t ask too much of it for too long. However the lack of grease in these bothers me…
La D4 performance! ❤
The best 💯
