      It was great! I was curious as I had just purchased almost a complete 800watt Renogy solar system for my rv that was recommended that I just start with a 3000w sine inverter 🤔 I’m really thinking
      that I should have purchased a 3000w + inverter / charger? I’m very new to this solar equipment and installations. You have any recommendations with Renogy installers within the south Okanagan / Vancouver etc area? Thanks Harold.

    I have got 4 of the 100AH core batteries, They have all been great so far. Went for the core because dont need internal heating where i live. (Australia) and felt the BT would just be annoying when you have multiple batteries. I am using that same renogy battery monitor as you.
    And i actually opted for 4 of the 100AH over 2 of the 200AH becuse of the size. 2 100AH end on end is about the same size as that canbat one you have. I realize renogy was aiming to fit in the same footprint as the old school 250AH lead acid AGM batteries. But they could easily of fit 300AH in that same case.

      Hi also from Australia and have just purchased 4 of these batteries to go with a victron easy solar GX II. how are they performing in series in a 48v setup. i picked these instead of the 24v units as i figured in the future if one dies its easier to reuse 12v batteries or onsell them, im running 2 kings 200ah units in parallel in my caravan which are also performing well but the renogy has 5000cycles v kings 2000 and they are for my home system that used to run lead acid.

    • @johnussss
      @johnussss 2 месяца назад

      Same, bought 2, live off-grid in Aus, thing that I'm finding annoying with Renogy is their lack of information, my older Epever charge controllers don't have a native lithium setting, although these are claimed to be "Drop In" to an existing lead acid setup, I don't trust that as lithium don't require or like certain charging cycles that lead acid require, apparently no BMS will adapt what's being supplied ... why can't we find the complete recommended charging parameters so I can manually set my system for these batteries?

    How is that Renogy is offering this battery at 1/2 the cost of just about everyone else? A 200Ah battery for (about) $700 (US) seems like a too good to be true price.
    I currently have 4 100Ah Battle Born batteries that are about 5 years old. I could get three of these (for a total of 600Ah@12v) for less than the cost of one new Battle Born GC3 (270Ah@12v). Am I missing something?

    Hi, thanks for this review and look inside the box! I recently bought this battery. I’ve a question concerning the use in colder environments: As I understood the BMS protect the battery from charging when it’s below 0 degrees C. You mention that and it’s stated in the manual. But you also mention, a bit later in the video, that users must avoid charging the battery in that condition. Apart from the fact that I don’t know how to protect (physically disconnect all charging, PV and DC-DC?), I assume the BMS take care of this until temperature has raised. Am I right or at risk of damaging the battery when relying on that feature?

    • @madetoexplore
      @madetoexplore  Год назад

      You can rely on that feature but I probably wouldn’t. The damage isn’t worth the risk. Many chargers have thermostats that will also stop charging when the temperature drops below 0. If this is common occurrence then i would recommend a heated battery

      See the owner's manual for the correlation between battery voltage and battery capacity percentage.
      The voltage drop is not linear from 100% to 0%. 12.8v is like 15% of battery capacity left and the BMS probably cuts it off way before it reaches 0% in order to protect the battery.

It's more economical to simply route some split piping from the heater into your battery storage and heat it in that manner rather than wasting more electricity for double means of heating.

    What I'm finding is that these lithium batteries charge up to full and quickly drop to 13.5 all by themselves and not plugged to anything. For a 24v 200ah battery we're talking 25+ hours charge time with nothing turned on or time doubles to charge. Way to many issues with these type batteries. 13.6v is a fully charged battery, 13.5v is 99% charge. See the owner's manual.
