The door in Gray Imports I think is an unused - or hardly used- asset that has a breakable property, but it only breaks when either CJ's melee combo attack reaches a certain point or with high burst damage (if I remember this right). How are you supposed to know this you might ask? Well, I played a lot of SA-MP and MTA in the past where this type of object is used somewhat frequently, depending on the gamemode. I can only assume the dev figured this means it's common knowledge? lol
Also I kinda hate to publicly call out the dev but I found this quote of his in the mod page funny:
"I'll mainly play the game and not add new features. Besides, 'perfect' is not really possible, you can never please everyone.
That's why this 'final' version will be dedicated to San Andreas enjoyers, not for speedrunners or people that can't make their own opinions."

I don't get it. I thought the mod was for speedrunners because it "punished" speedrun strats?

Instead of giving cops increased rate of fire, the mod author should consider using PedSkills if he wants to increase the shootout difficulty. Not only it's highly customizable, but even with default accuracy setting, given that the attack range is almost doubled (which works both ways btw), you get shredded in no time by the police and gangs joining in. In fact, it might be a little too precarious sometimes.
Instead of blocking off the speedrun routes he should have made them more skill based to use making them very precise. That way the difficulty still goes up but the fun factor doesn’t diminish. For example one of the alleyways had a ramp in it. That’s begging to be used. It just needs something around it to make landing it much more difficult and if you don’t land it you get exploded. It’s about upping the challenge and not padding out the game.
Not trying to defend this mod but, i also found the door closed at grey imports in a normal modded game so that might be some to do with vanilla itself or some other unrelated mod, i really don't know, i was also very confused and used a shotgun to open it

This mod aside I'm sorta surprised you rated Tightened Vice so high, imo it's the least inspired out of the trilogy, with less crazy ideas and more enemies with M4 to hide it.
It's always a treat to watch Stu force himself through a GTA hard mod with his extensive game knowledge first and then have EBen critically dismantle it from a speedrunner/game designer perspective.

This mod used to be harder and better, the cops had the mod's logo on the cars and you had Vice city cops idk if they are still there
This mod falls into the trap a lot of "hardened for speedrunners" mods seem to do. Making things mildly inconvenient for speedrunners by blocking speedrun routes, which affects casual play almost nothing, and just giving enemies improved guns, throwing game balance out the window. There's no reason for Wrong Side of the Tracks dudes having AKs with that high accuracy. It doesn't make it hard, it just makes it so that you can't do neither the speedrun nor the intended strategy, and you only find this out when you're already dead.
@englishben I am not surprised the gang territory was unchanged. This part of the game is controlled by the executable, it's not a script change. To make changes to it you either have to really know what you're doing with CLEO mods, or throw the gang territory minigame out and making your own version of it in script, which is a waste of time. Then again, every prop of random garbage probably took a minute to place, so that's an entire day that could be used to develop a better gang territory experience.
Wrong Side of the tracks is already hard enough to perform even using the speedrun method (you can miss the jump, slide off the train after landing or after shooting a few times, etc.) to the point making it harder just proves the point that the mission is a textbook example of Artificial Difficulty.

0:40 Enemies with shotguns here aren’t bad or even unfair design. You’re not in close quarters, you clearly see what they’re armed with, they don’t ambush you and you’re not in a time rush because Sweet had plenty of HP. This is an instance of blaming game design for your own failure.
20:40 He’s partially right, because when you get a hard mod, you’re expecting it to follow the design choices of Tightened such that it provides a consistent and fair experience. One example of that is Hardlined - it wasn’t advertised as hard but fair, nor was it developed with that in mind (the comment you would always cling to was posted days if not weeks after the original release).
Having said that, that of course does not alleviate valid criticism of this mod.

33:35 Said or before, but I’ll say it again. He did not lie about not helping you. He gave around 5-6 suggestions before ghosting you (which was indeed not cool). But he did try to solve your issue and that does count as help.

This mod is like playing Chaos mod random effects triggering every 10 seconds where most of them could potentially kill you like the random cops and the super cop cars in the last video
@@takahashi2852 pretty much that. theres also a reason dark souls (and elden ring) have nothing that comes even close to them, since the devs always seem to think lets make the game bullshit difficulty instead of using good game design.

@@Belegaren By bullshit I mean things outside of your control or even too hard/impossible to do the intended way like the drive by mission where you need to cheese it by going outside the car and random cops can still kill you if you're unlucky, no amount of skill can help you
With Souls games you just need to get gud where you could practice parry and dodge timings and you'll be able to kill bosses with zero hits if you're good enough, it doesn't have shit like random enemies spawning behind you or random things exploding like the cars during the riots
Souls games are mostly skill, the only thing you may call bullshit is that there's only one difficulty, I personally played Elden Ring with an easy mod because to me personally the amount of damage was bullshit

Lmao at the dev coping in the chat while his low effort mod gets the fair criticism it deserves. If he were smart he'd listen, but seeing how he's acting I have no hope for this mod ever improving.
there's no saving at this point, if mod developer is this cocky, I wouldn't even touch his creations. dev is single iq digit individual that doesn't understand nature of being a human, we are all different, I couldn't care less if he beat his own mod while being blindfolded using controller with feet in space, others should be able to beat it too without bs elements of rng.

Just try this mod recently, playing version 1.45 because according to the download page it is the best version. And Wrong side of the track is one of the most painful experience of any games i've ever played. The third guy on the train is holding a god damn heat seaking rocket launcher. I have no idea what is the intended way to beat that mission on that version. I'm just glad that dev changed it to whatever you guy see right now on version 1.5. what a huge waste time.
