Thank you Bhante for the reminder of having Dhammachanda and kusalachanda in mind for meditation to progress. Buddhanusati helps us stay inspired and strengthen faith in our practice. Learning about human mind is needed for human happiness and peace in family, work and society.

How to stop ads during a dhamma talk?!

  • @sondogs98

Does this stuff actually work?... Like actually bring deep peace in life or is it slightly gimmicky and just monks end up monks because they're already at peace and just suit the lifestyle... Someone please reply don't ignore .. sorry just curious after years of intense interest and meditating often despite often disappointing or dull results. Someone please care to connect and share some insight?? Why am I so obsessed with 'Dhamma'

I would like an answer too. My only experience so far is that when coworkers get angry at me I am almost unfazed where before I would get upset. I've been following Ajahn Sona and Ajahn Punnadhammo lately. The later goes live every thurs night at 6 est.

As someone who has only started meditating and keeping the 5 precepts more seriously in my late 20s I can say its made a huge positive difference to my life, and I'm immensefuly grateful to my prior and current teachers for this. I also found as I meditated more consistently (e.g. 30-45 minutes everyday) I eventually felt I wanted to learn what benefits it would bring to meditate and practice full time so I spent a number of weeks at an Ajahn Chah branch monastery near me and it was a life changing experience for me.
Before I left a number of my co-workers were keen to learn what it was like so I wrote this blog which many of them found quite interesting and enjoyable to read - I hope you find it useful too :)

The only acceptable answer will be "yours."
Don't take my word. But yes.
If sincerely practiced a complete transformation will result.

It really does work, but can take a few months or years to transform once life. Mindfulness has to pick up a sort of 'momentum', sitting in the morning and evening, and maintaing awareness and the five precepts throughout the day. Then one's life can be transformed. But this a long and difficult process.
If you haven't already, I would consider finding a community to practice with, and a teacher. I think it's almost impossible to do this practice alone, you need some guidance and support. Best of luck to you 🙏
