    Hey buddy. What ecu did you running on this video? How much boost the car building on this video and what is your A/F target? Also how many degrees of timing you are using on this boost?
    This damage comes when the car running very lean or with high ignition map.

    What exactly happened to the engine, and how much air pressure did that turbo put on the engine? I have a 6G72 engine. I want to know what is the maximum this engine has to go to not break parts,

    • @GREASEGARAGE
      @GREASEGARAGE  2 года назад

      it was untuned , with a good tune the 6g72 is find on 10-12 psi

      Hey ReXeR, your kind of right Josh is only 16.. so he is still learning, he is legit on his L plates, but he was letting off because of the AFR kept going lean.. it’s my fault I should of explained that he shouldnt be throttling on and off like that, but at the end of the day is doesn’t matter to much because Josh has started building his 3.9litre 6G75 with forged rods and pistons which is the replacement for this 3.5 6G74 this engine was only for a mock up

    What size oil filter is that? Looks too big..... 🤔

    • @GREASEGARAGE
      @GREASEGARAGE  2 года назад +1

      Your right! it is a larger oil filter, it’s a spare mitsubishi 2000 magna oil filter that i had, i used it to check if it was the old oil filter that was causing oil pressure to be down, it wasn’t luckily.. the standard oil pressure sensor wasn’t reading correctly anymore, so we installed an aftermarket one .. Great question 😃

    • @righthand7965
      @righthand7965 2 года назад +1

      @@GREASEGARAGE yes, my thoughts were along the lines of whether it might impact negatively on the oil flow cycling? I'm not very mechanically apt, just a thought -- Hopefully it didn't cause oil starvation or anything like that. Hope to see the beast back up & running soon mate 👍🏃‍♂️🏃💪🔙🔜😁⏳

    Thats some bad luck, what ecu and injectors were you running?

    • @GREASEGARAGE
      @GREASEGARAGE  2 года назад +1

      thank you for the question, magna/diamante injectors but they are the same cc as factory , and factory ecu, josh has been getting all the parts for a forged 6G75, that should be ready soon 🤞, so it was pointless getting this engine tuned. for a smaller engine , the ecu we will be using is a haltech elite 2500, we knew it would go bang eventually, but where hoping it would last a little bit longer, plus side is we got all our testing out of the way :)

    • @1magnit
      @1magnit Год назад +1

      Luck doesn't come into it. The injectors are about 280cc or even less. That limits the power to 280 or so HP which is what you'll get with just the minimum of boost. In other words total lack of planning.

    • @GREASEGARAGE
      @GREASEGARAGE  Год назад +1

      Hello 1magnit👋 , it might seem that way “ lack of planning “but honestly that wasn’t the case, We already had bigger injectors for the build and a 750elite ecu, that we changed to a 2500elite as joshes ambitions got bigger, the problem we faced was do we test the car and make sure everything works , or do we send it to perth 400km away to get the wiring, and ecu done and then get it on the dyno! we decided to test it because we weren’t keeping the 6G74, as Josh is building a 6G75 with forged internals “which we did show later in there series “ , at the end of the day we decided to tested the car, have some fun and make some content, You are not the only one that has disagreed with out decision to drive it untuned and think it wasn’t the right move, I can assure you the Pajero will be back stronger then ever very soon

    • @1magnit
      @1magnit Год назад +1

      @@GREASEGARAGE It died due to knock, that's why the pistons broke. Too much boost for the CR and the octane fuel along with injectors too small. You weren't monitoring knock with a datalogger so the end result was inevitable. Your 6G75 will do the same thing.

    • @1magnit
      @1magnit Год назад +1

      @@GREASEGARAGE As far as I know the elite 750 doesn't even have knock control so it's as useless as tits on a bull and a downgrade from the stock one.

      it wasn’t till Josh kept driving it another 88km did it finally gave up the go… but it was all to plan really( hoping it would last a little longer ) , josh is building a forged 6g75 at the moment, so will be covering that as soon as we have some new footage

    • @GREASEGARAGE

      we think is was the Skirt of the pistons, the oil rings expanded and chip the top of the pistons, we found aluminium in the waste gate
