SM really made a big BIG mistake by letting him go, Jinho could've been one of their most precious treasure and Jinho could have debuted with EXO and if he did debut with them, EXO would have had the most powerful vocal line among all the boygroups in the kpop industry.
as an EXO-L i am glad that SM letting him go, eventhough i am sad also. if not, his talent could be wasted just like how SM treat EXO and D.O. as their main vocalist 💆♀️ there's not so much chance for Exo to shine individually (bcs SM are so lazy to send them to variety show etc) i am glad that jinho could show his talent on several show and do a monthly cover on yoututbe. i hope the whole world stop sleeping on him

i’m not that familiar with pentagon, but i really like Jinho. Based on this video i believe his overall supported range might be B2/C3-G4/G#4, i loved those first B2s and his G4/G#4 are nice, but his vibrato carries some tension and it prevents him from consistently support G#4, above that is highly strained but somehow he’s used to sing in the fifth octave without killing his throat. His higher register is definitely his weakest one, his falsetto sounds kinda weak sometimes, i’m not that good at hearing flaws in someone’s head voice, but he strains there too. Also he does that thing where he sings with head voice to sound like mixed voice (i forgot the name), it’s a smart move but since he strains his head voice too it’s not that much better. I’m really surprised about his lower register and his ability to keep a nice technique while straining that much, he’s definitely a good vocalist who knows his voice.
Wow! Thanks for your comment! I'm agree with your opinion of strains part. As main vocals in k-pop idol group, they always have to sing very high notes for performance reasons. It's not good for them to be a better singer, neither their long-time career. People only mention Jinho's high notes, when his lower register is so underrated. This makes me kinda sad >
Lol no even C#3 of him supported. A G#4 carried supported but most of them strained and some other G4 of him has tension too. I only can gave him F#4/G4, most consistent note is about F#4. The reason lie on his raspy singing like in 2:10, it is very unhealthy
Rosie Jay i agree, i’m not the best person when it comes to listening to supported low notes but 0:47 seems good, he has some G4s and G#4s that were nice, but i wasn’t talking about consistent support cause he’s very inconsistent through his whole range. Based on this video i would give like D#3/E3-F#4/G4, his vibrato is kind of a problem adding a lot of unnecessary tension
