This was a bird strike near final approach, according to witnesses on the ground. Sadly, the pilots likely turned off the wrong engine after a likely single power-plant bird strike, which left them with no power at all. But if it were a double bird strike, they didn't have much time to plan the complex emergency landing on a known short runway. Notwithstanding, after the bird strike, the pilots failed to pull the 3 manual levers to drop the landing gear without hydraulics (its behind their seats), they failed to fire up the APU to power the flaps into a "down" landing position without engine power, they approached way above stall speed because they had no flaps. The pilots landed level at an abnormally high speed, with only two thirds of the short runway remaining. Without any power, they couldn't even reverse thrust. Then a huge concrete blast-proof barrier was dead in their way. Honestly, they should have just aimed for a water landing... and followed the exact same procedures as Captain Sully did on the Hudson river in America. A water landing would have given them much more room to play with, and likely most, if not all the passengers and crew would have survived.
I think pilot not activate spoiler and reverse thrust to help make it reduce the speed of plane before reach the end of the runway and minimize the impact to the wall?

My guess is that they turned off the wrong engine. Now with dual engine failure, there will be no power to hydraulics and flap extension would be impossible. Probably, no hydraulic power to landing gear as well. But why they didn't use gravity deployment of landing gear is beyond me.

Also I hear there is a manual override for the landing gear to come down on it's own weight on that model of aircraft. I guess we will wait for the flight recorder analysis.
They would still be able to extend the landing gear unless they slowed too much before hand, I suppose it's possible they shut off the wrong engine and spent too long trying to get it to start again to extend the gear with gravity.
The pilots failed to pull the 3 manual levers to drop the landing gear, they failed to fire up the APU to power the flaps without engine power, they also likely turned off the wrong engine after the bird strike, which left them with no power at all.
@@RandyHoff Ya it's a very confusing sequence of events, not nearly enough time to complete any checklist between the go around and the landing. The Answer: Why would a pilot land with no flaps and no gear down? If he had no power he would keep the flaps up and gear up to glide further. But he mis-judged the glide rate by about 2 seconds which made him land long. He had no reverse thrusters to slow the plane and no brakes. He needs about 5500 feet for a normal landing. The runway is 9200 feet. He landed at about the 4000 foot mark. Impossible to slow down without reverse thrusters and no brakes. The plane was very controlled so he had hydraulics but he had no power.. This is my best guess as it makes sense.

This raises doubts about the 911 WTC narrative. How could a plane get absorbed by a building made of thick steel and concrete designed to stop a jet, creating a cartoon cut out shape through the whole building, coming out of the other side, when a thin brick wall will stop and disintegrate a Boeing 737?
The hydraulic system of a 737 has not 1, not 2, but 3 backup systems, apart from the fact that this never have happened before, a bird strike simply would never ever have any affect on the hydraulic system! In my guess 100% pilot error, they rushed or ignored the checklist and simply forgot half of it!
The concrete wall the plane it and then exploded could have stopped a tank. What is a cement wall doing at the end of a runway? Every airport I`ve seen holding up radar equipment is stuck into the ground with metal poles or they have a small shack holding some of the electronics.I don`t think a hunk of tons of concrete is smart.

It has been confirmed it was indeed a bird strike there is footage showing the strike but the tragedy was a classic unstable approach less than 3 minutes elapse between declaring emergency and the failed landing not nearly enough time to go over checklist? unless there was some catastrophic loss of total control it's looking more and more like PIlot error!!! 😒 need the Cvr confirmation.
I don’t think a bird strike prevents landing gear.
🤦♂️✈️ it looks like the plane lost all hydraulics, including Rutters what really destroyed the plane is the wall it ran into at the end of the runway
Let's not disregard a terrorist attack. Rip to the souls of the dead 🙏🏾

It seems to me, that if not for the brick wall at the end of the runway, this air plane may not have crashed landed, in the way that it did. Hopefully the South Korean Airport, and those that are in charge, will put a collapsible antenna at the end of their runways and not use brick walls. So sad for all the people who lost loved ones.😒
Maybe more chance if pilot landed on water (on the right side of the terminal)
The frictional force may cause fire
Short runway with tall concrete wall at the end. Very smart of the profit oriented south Koreans.
Airplane touchdown landed reverse side of runway cause hit the walls and explosion occurred
Its must have a landing foam on the wall much better
THANK YOU SANTA CLAUS FOR THE EXPLANATION
Any how or any wrong decision by the pilots...but in this case shortness of this runway is the only factor of this catastrophic accident. 💐🙏
Rest in peace
The concrete wall should have never been there so sad 😞
It is an act of terror
Agreed! The birds demanded free food!

He came in way to fast for a belly landing
I hope my flight doesn't end up like that 0_0
Did someone survive??

Jay Costura and Baldwin prediction are true
Is it necessary for him to say the investigation will be transparent because SK is a western country ?
Because non western countries often are outrageously corrupt
South Korea a western country? 2:30. West of Japan yes, but western country?
OmG..😢😢😢😢😢
Maybe controls in german💀
SI SARA NAKASAKAY?!??? 😮😮
NAKA SHABU SIGURO PILOT
Kaya takot aq ng sumakay sa eroplano
We condole to those who loses theirs love one😢and to those who are fast to give their own opinon and blame somebody and the wall or the landing gear, ride a bus😮

Boeing again!
Your point, do you know the cause of the crash?
@alexrebmann1253 It's Boeing again!
@@Jay-hr3rh That doesn't prove that Boeing was responsible which I think is what you are trying to insinuate.
@alexrebmann1253 When was the last time you heard of a deadly incident involving an airbus?
It's boeing again @@alexrebmann1253
😭😭😭😭😭
After explosion the Gear is now not malfunction. 😂

Insensitive, sorry.
The real true questions is just how much well experienced was the Pilots especially the captain and how many flight experiences was between the 2 Pilots because big corporates airlines are literally laying off well experienced older Pilots and replacing them with young unexperienced Pilots you will not see much Pilots over 50 years old these days now majority of Pilots are very young in their 20's with very little experience flight hrs under their wings I know a captain who is 48 years old and was laid off due to his age the big corporates airliners has found that keeping on well experienced older Pilots will result in higher costs in pay and pensions so once your contract expires they just won't renew it because new contracts mean having to pay more than what they want to pay because of the experience the older Pilots has, lesser experienced Pilots means airliners can dictated the pay and amount of hrs per shift per month, lesser experience lesser hrs more younger Pilots = lesser amount of money being paid out to the Pilots and more bigger profits for the big corporates due to lesser expenses paying for well experienced older Pilots is very costly these days now according to the corporates airliners in their latest research, having more younger unexperienced Pilots on the rosters results in lesser money being paid out a new Pilot only does 3 to 4 days of flight per week and 8 hours per shift and the airliners are actually literally looking at to make it Pilots do 3 days a week 8 hours per shift, the more young unexperienced Pilots the lesser flight hrs the lesser amount of money being paid out on pay and pensions for new employees more control dictatorship the corporates airliners has the bigger profits it's very much all about the billions and billions of profit they can make corporates greediness
........omg !
Sherlock , what's your conclusion ?, or , are you still waiting for Watson ?
