Was going to post this. It's one of my favorite chocolate bars. I don't eat a lot, but when I do I usually get one of these. It lasts me a while since I don't eat that much sweet stuff.
A crunchy is a low-grade candy bar I wouldn't even call it sponge candy not in the same category or the same quality.. it's Canada what do you expect..
Sponge candy = crunchie bar in Australia, and we have it all year round haha! It is a cadbury bar and it is well loved here (although I'd say mainly for kids haha)
I'm impressed they made it in their small store. A high school friends family owned a chocolate factory in Buffalo and they made it seasonally in their factory. They cut it with band saws.
Come to Wisconsin for Kwik Trip. Nothing else state specific is worth it, unless you want to learn to make cheese. It can be eaten anywhere. We do have good fish fries, too, and I know Julia likes them.
I grew up in Buffalo and move to Los Angeles in 1979. After a night of partying in Buffalo we would always go to a Greek restaurant and have a Greek chile dogs. I can't recommend a particular restaurant because I have not been there in a while. While in Buffalo find a Greek restaurant and give them a try. We would call them s_itty canoes. OOOOOOH so Good!!
For anyone interested in Buffalo cuisine, check out Arthur Bovino's excellent "Buffalo Everything: A Guide to Eating in the 'Nickel City'." This book covers it all, and the history behind all of Buffalo's favorite foods and drink. Highly recommend!!!
Come to Canada..This is called sponge toffee and it is available everywhere. We even have a sponge toffee chocolate bar called "crunchie" Originally from England
Sponge candy is usually popular around Easter time but you can usually find some sponge candy at the grocery stores. Also Ted’s uses Sahlen’s hot dogs which are good but Wardynski’s is much better.
If anybody is looking for sponge candy just go to Co Ed Candy in South Buffalo. I’m not sure why anybody didn’t tell you to go there considering it’s the most popular place to get it.
You guys missed a good bit of opportunities for life changing food while you were here. You will experience a whole different kind of food heaven with different locals. Lots of awesome puerto rican food, mexican food, jamaican, greek. Roast beef on weck is also a Buffalo Staple.
You didn't get pizza logs? That's another Western New York invention. Also you hit just a few Buffalo Pizza places. Our pizza has a wide range of flavors and styles. A couple to check out Macy's Place (they have an instagram with all their crazy pizza creations) and Bocce Club that does an old school style pizza. Also only half of the city does sweet sauce on the pizza. Depending on who you ask, you will get different answers between sweet sauce and traditional. All of them use Cup and Char pep though.
It doesn't HAVE to be the duffs on sheridan as that one guy insisted. In fact, if you'd prefer a restaurant that actually has decent atmosphere, parking, seating and service, Duffs on Dick Rd is the best location. Transit a close 2nd. Sheridan a distant 3rd.
Buffalo Pizza is its own category
I've lived in Buffalo all my life and I didn't know sponge candy was a local thing hahah. I couldn't live without it. Also the tullys tenders are LIT
Yes, a trip to Canada should definitely be in your future!
Paula’s donuts is like top rated on Trip Advisor. Their donuts are fantastic.
I came here wondering the same…
Paula’s are on another level. They are the undisputed heavyweight champion of doughnuts.
Paula's is famous but Eileen's and Market in the Square are even better in my opinion
@@drewdrabik3620 Paula’s and MITS are legitimately next door to each other too 😂 which is amazing lol.
I lived here all my life and did not realize until recently that Royal subs are local to Buffalo. Italian sausage and cappicola. The best.
Yup.. Mary from John & Mary's invented it.
We call it sponge toffee in Canada. We have a chocolate bar called a Crunchie which is chocolate covered sponge toffee.
Was going to post this. It's one of my favorite chocolate bars. I don't eat a lot, but when I do I usually get one of these. It lasts me a while since I don't eat that much sweet stuff.

Lived there for 13yrs, this series REALLY miss their food; Ted's, Jim, Mighty, LA Nova, Watsons, the wings, etc

Sponge candy is available year round in Buffalo.
Duff's is a tourist trap! Should have gone to Bar Bill's in East Aurora
Come to Canada. But don’t go to Toronto. There’s more to Canada than Toronto and Vancouver 😁.
Come to Edmonton for donairs. So many donair shops.
why would someone visit a country & *not* go to the biggest cities in said country ? bffr.
@@vapidshay valid point, but it's more unique for a video to showcase things most other RUclipsrs in a similar genre are not doing.
