    Good points Baz, although Everton's point was a lucky one!😉
    Surely no Evertonian was satisfied with that performance. It was really terrible.
    I have been understanding with Dyche, and still is, but he must change his tactics in our home games. As you said we must start on the front foot and try to dominate the proceedings, at least against teams which are midtable and in the bottom end of the table.
    Sometimes it seems that we are more courageous in our approach in our away games, and that is good, but our tactics at Goodison must change totally!

    • @borachon26
      @borachon26 День назад

      Dyche will never change his tactics. If he had City, Arsenal or Liverpool's squads he'd still tell his defenders to lump the ball long in the vague hope a tall front man will get his head on it and it'll break to someone. Anyone.

      Not lucky, the shot by Gana was bad luck right? Beto took a chance off a perfect weighted pass. There was more lucky two players decided the other was going to take on the guy with the ball.

    At the risk of being accused of understatement, EFC were dreadful today. You just don't know who is going to show up week by week, absolutely no consistency. I agree this long ball approach is grim and awful to watch. Two up front certainly looked much more effective with Beto and Keane creating havoc, DCL is completely isolated and ineffective. I'm hanging in that EFC stay safe and at the end of the season they re-evaluate the coaching staff and organize for the new season. Beto loves Everton and he enjoys getting the fans riled up, he was very emotional at the end. Well done to him. MOM for me was Gana-Gueye. COYB

    Great video Baz. I was happy for Beto. I would play him more. His attitude is good and that is what you want. Overall game wasn’t good. We just aren’t good to watch. It is hard to watch. The way we play is so predictable and we are so cautious and sit back at home. Fulham are a good team but not amazing. I agree we should be dominating at home against most teams. I want to see us go for teams. The manager is just never positive. As you said he reacts too late. When we go 1-0 down he doesn’t change anything. More luck than judgment that we equalised.

      No need for the 'proper Everton supporters' dig. Sharp supported (and still supports) the 'protesting Evertonians are thugs' narrative which I and lots of other match going Blues take great exception to as we were there that January afternoon. Did I like being connected to a minute number of people who were out of order and did I like the 'headlocker' slander? No. Would I or any of the thousands of Blues I know do any harm to Sharp because he backed the club over the fans by supporting the lies and exaggerations? No. Sharp can come back any time he wants, we are not what we've been what we've been painted as, nothing will be done nor said to him in or around the ground. The team is more important than any ex player. We can move on from this if he stops all this drama and just comes to the game.

    Unfortunately we don’t have the personnel for either style. A possession based style requires players that can make accurate short passes on the one touch and fullbacks that can get into the final third and stretch the defense (we don’t have those). A long ball style requires not just big forwards, but wide players that can get down the touchline and make quality crosses to the forwards (we don’t have those). If we went 442 with McNeil and Ndiaye on the wings, I’d be elated. But that’s not exactly the best use of those two players.

    Baz n Peds: I think you should do a show this week on a DYCHE PLAN B.
    For me there simply isn't one....
    Last night, as usual, he kept the same shape, brought on Mangala(and took Dom off)) when he could and should have brought on another attacking player.
    Could have switched to a 4-4-2 diamond with Mcneil or Ndiaye playing behind Beto abd Dom. Or even a back 3 with Seamus and Myko as wingbacks, plus two no.10s or two strikers. There's alot of options!!
    Should have brought Seamus on for young and get him playing high up the pitch aswell.
    Force the opposition to change their set up and disrupt their rhythm....put them under pressure FFS!!
    As Baz said.... it's Goodison park... let's make it very difficult for teams instead of backing off and knocking long balls.
    Dyche is like Southgate in that his in-game management seems to be dictated by a fear of changing the system.
    You take off a CDM and bring on more attackers and create overloads.
    I'd rather see our manager have a real go at teams when we're chasing a game but Dyche is too scared we'll get counter attacked...

    Cant go into the new stadium playing dycheball. Simply can't. Its already bad enough for Goodison's last season but he always loses most matches in August whatever the hell he does in preseason. Would be a terrible beginning to a new era. Sooner the better.

    Tonight demonstrated clearly why Dyche has no long term future with the club. No plan at all. It looked like Pickford had no confidence with his defence to play it out from the back and reluctantly launched it forward in frustration nearly every time. It’s going to be another long season trying to sneak the odd goal here or there. Baz can you discuss in the week Dyche comments after the match that he won’t play 2 up front because he doesn’t have a strong enough midfield to go 4.4.2. I think our players are good enough but lack direction.

    • @willbowden4067

      100%. Dyche keeps talking about this is how we "have" to play because we don't have the players or squad...it's BS we have better players than he's ever managed in his career and his personal ceiling is becoming our ceiling. It's really pissing me off. I can't stand his attitude in press conferences anymore

    • @jamesbirkenhead876
      @jamesbirkenhead876 День назад

      I think we should change him at some point. Hopefully it's on good terms at the end of this season or something. He's done a great job at keeping us up last few years. However his tactics are just out of date and won't get you anywhere significant. We've only beaten ipswich convincingly really and they'll most likely go down. Palace was individual quality from McNeil - we were dreadful beforehand. We've scammed a point in this game. I just don't beleive these players aren't capable of better and I think we're too negative particularly at home.
