@@kjc19004 I do and apart from the litany of other issues, Batman wasn’t even stealthy. He would just try to go through the front door then overstay his welcome by just chilling there at a crime scene for a while. And to be honest, the portrayal of Riddler wasn’t that interesting to be and I solved the riddle a long time before Batman did in the movie, so much for the greatest detective. And tbh his love affair with Catwoman made no sense and finally the Batmobile is probably the weakest one.

Then I watched his indie movies. After I came accross good time my reaction was fk yeah. Its gon be one dark batman. And pattinson killed it. They finally made a real batman. I know pattinson is highly versatile. I can't wait to see how this will evolve. If any man could do it ,he can. He's capable of being the sophisticated Bruce. Cant wait for the next one

I don't think it's the best movie ever but it definitely could be the best "super"hero movie made yet. My favorite part is that nobody has superpowers, they're all just people and nothing is done that's beyond the capabilities of a very athletic person. The Riddler is even physically weak and wouldn't stand a chance face to face with Batman.

"No Way Home" was supposed to be fan service, and it's just that. The entire movie felt like a compilation of references and call backs.
One thing that stood out was that the speeches from each of the old Peters to Tom Holland's Spidey felt forced. It was a cheesy, cliche motivational speech. "Hey man, it gets better. Trust me, I've been there." I wanted to like it, but it felt like it was written by an amateur with no understanding of subtlety.
This movie actually made me like Batman more when I didn't care for him much before. I really liked how you can see how conflicted and restless Bruce is. He can handle business as Batman for sure, but when he's back in the cave with Alfred, you can clearly see he is frustrated. The notes he writes to himself to "push himself" and losing sleep over the job not being done, things like this made him very relatable.

While i disagree that its the best film of all time. I Agree its great. The main appeal for me is its non comic book feel and the liberties taken to reinvent the characters and the genre which i could tell you is a mixed reception since some people hate the grounded take of the superhero genre especially since it limits them. But tbh idc that much as it made great stories. Im somewhat both a comic book fan and a non comic book fan so I'm kinda torn, but my favorites stories always involved the DCAU and i like it compared to most comic books but some comics books like kingdom come were just too good that i gave it a pass. Anyways liked the batman and grounded takes of superheroes. I just hate the "comic book feel" in the movie set up because i feel like its too much focusing on spectacle than deep stories. grounded doesn't mean realistic, it just means realm of possibility or at least theoretically possibility.

The Batman is the best comic book movie ever made, just like the title says. And it's not even close. the second closest comic book movie that I was obsessed with for years before The Batman came out was Joker. And I still LOVE that film. But that's for another discussion.
One of my favorite things to do is pull my favorite movie chair really close to the 85 inch TV, put my headphones on loud asf, shut off all the lights and just experience the film. I honestly, can't tell you how many times I've seen this film. I have a whole section in my entertainment room dedicated to this film. I can't wait for the sequel so much. I know it's taking forever, but you can't just pump out masterpieces in 2 years. Matt is a very slow writer by his own admission. he's a perfectionist. So, when it's ready, it's ready. But October 2nd can't come fast enough!! lol

I think switching from No Way Home to The Batman marks more of your tastes changing than an objective measure of quality. The Batman is a great film, but not the best of all time. And No Way Home is disappointing, but it wasn't THAT disappointing. To me, the biggest difference is that No Way Home is burdened with the ever-increasing weight of the MCU, while The Batman offers the relief of a reboot. Its only responsibility was to be as unlike previous Batman films as it could, without losing the character, or losing the director's vision. But it feels like the greatest superhero film for the very reason that it's opening a new chapter in the genre, while MCU movies and shows are still trying to recapture the magic of The Avengers. And though I still think the Avengers is an unparalleled masterpiece, its time is passed. Ultimately, The Batman succeeds where No Way Home disappoints because The Batman offers so much more potential. We know the limits of the MCU now. It's gotten as big as it's gonna get. But The Batman opens up a world of new creative possibilities. Who knows what this new take on superheroes can do? Not even Matt Reeves knows that.
I don't want to take anything away from your pleasure, but I think in the long term, it can harm your experience to call anything "the best" rather than just appreciating it. You can subconsciously bias your judgement, and get stuck on old films at the expense of new ones. It happens to a lot of people, and they become that old dude that still thinks the bands they fell in love with in high school are the last word in music. Preference is great, but comparison closes you off from appreciating things for themselves. You can have a favorite fruit, but when you say oranges are the best, you undervalue the unique joy of a crisp apple. This kind of hyper-focus is inevitable for some of us weirdos, but when we eventually squeeze all the joy we can out of the thing we love, we don't want to have cut ourselves off from appreciating other stuff.
I just love this deep dive into the specifics of what makes The Batman so exquisite. You have a brilliant eye (and ear) for detail. This film is a tour-de-force of creative choices. Everything feels carefully considered for maximum mood, from the soundscape to the film lenses, the costumes, character and concept designs, architectural details, etc. But you have to remember that the friendly, familiar world of the Spider-Man films is a choice too, and the best choice they could have made for the feeling they wanted to convey. The point of The Batman is to make its world feel expressionistic, so that the vaguely unlikely things happening seem more mythic. While the MCU is built on bringing the impossible into a very familiar world. These two movies are just doing very different things. And because the MCU has been running the same formula a bit too long, it's easy to dismiss it as vastly inferior. Especially because it's so clearly become a formula, rather than deliberate, creative choices.
But what happens when the audience all decide that No Way Home's approach is just bad, and that The Batman is the way to go, is that The Batman's approach will become the norm for too many upcoming movies, whether it's right for each one or not. And that's just bad cinema. We don't want Booster Gold in the style of The Batman. We want Booster Gold to have its own unique approach, tailor made for that character. The first Shazam movie was too stark and washed out, undercutting the fun vibe they were trying to go for in an effort to fit with the epic but joyless DCEU aesthetic. While the second one simply tried to copy the look of the MCU, making its outrageous superhero and god costumes look more like cosplay. Wonder Woman '84 did the same thing, trivializing a character that the first film worked so hard to make epic. In both cases, they were trying to look like other movies, instead of finding their own vibe.
What makes The Batman so great is that it has its own completely unique cinematic style, which extends, as you point out, to every detail, every corner of the frame. But to say it's "the best," I think, undercuts the importance of its uniqueness. It's the best possible style for THIS movie. But for another movie, every amazing choice they make here might be a bad one. That's the crazy thing about art. It's not all trying to find the one right way, quite the opposite. The last thing we want is for the DCU Batman to be the same as the Reeves-verse Batman. The more different they are, the better. The DCU Batman might look a lot more like No Way Home, all clean reality with superheroes for contrast. But if it's the right choice for that movie, it'll be genius.

Ok so, Batman is devastated that the Riddler flooded Gotham, so he goes to Doctor Fate. "make everyone forget what happened. Except for Alfred, and Selina", Doctor Fate messes up, and brings the rogues gallery from previous Batman movies. Bale and Affleck appear as their Batmen, they fight the rogues gallery as a trio, and go home, with Battinson having new knowledge of his two comrades with a new suit based on all 3 of them. The third movie would be a more grounded movie but I'm leaning more towards the multiverse again

Saying the batman is the best comic book movie of all time, even though its just number 3 to me, is a opinion i strongly respect. But saying the penguin is the best comic book` tv show ever is absolutely nuts and I highly suggest you watch more comic book shows. The penguin shows a clear lack of care for the source material in general. all it takes are names and occasionally basic synopsis of characters. If youve read Batman: The Long Halloween you'd know how much this show wasted Alberto Falcone. Oz Cobb doesn't even get his umbrella gun which isn't even a fantastical element. its a very possible thing that wouldve done a excellent job showing Oz's creativity earlier in the show. How can a show that doesn't care about comics be the best show that adapts them? I don't know what the true best comic book show is, but Batman: the Animated Series and Peacemaker both stand out as fantastic shows that blow the penguin out of the water. Although I liked the penguin, its a 6/10 at best. I highly suggest watching Daredevil (what I think is probably the best comic book show of all time), The Walking Dead, and Invincible. All 3 listed surpass the Penguin on every single level

    • @LunchCorner
      @LunchCorner  11 дней назад +2

I did say in the vid I'm not much of a Batman fan before The Batman, so I didn't read TLH. The Penguin isn't adapting TLH, it's its own thing, so I don't mind the death of someone in the show. After The Batman, all similarities to TLH or Year One are thrown out the window. Peacemaker better? Probably, idk I found it too jokish but it is James Gunn's DC project. I only watched it once when it released so I forgot a lot about it, but the story isn't the strongest imo. The Walking Dead is 100% not better than The Penguin by a long shot. Daredevil I never finished s1, but I'll give it a shot if you say it's that crazy! Also I forgot about Invincible LOLLL. It's amazing and I love a lot of the changes it did, but the animation never improving while cheaper shows blowing it out of the water is unacceptable as an Amazon show, and that mid season break totally killed my hype even though I read the comics.

@@AbuzzKlanica that’s not the only reason it’s a 6/10 that’s just a reason it’s an extremely poor adaptation. The show is a 6 because constant plot convinces, bad character development, and I found the 2 main characters deeply uninteresting as protagonists. I get that they’re both supposed to be morally gray but I see no reason to root for either of them. If Sofia wins, Gotham stays the same and bliss will be sold. If the penguin wins, Gotham stays the same and bliss will be sold. A show that does what the penguin tries to do far better is breaking bad. In season 4, you are desperately rooting for Walter to defeat Gus. Although you see many of the positives he brings, the show gives you reasons to root for Walter to defeat him. The penguin is also a massive visual downgrade from the Batman and features horrible green screens at times. My biggest problem with the penguin isn’t that he didn’t get his umbrella gun but it’s that he’s not a compelling protagonist. When he kills maroni’s wife, for example, what am I supposed to feel. She’s an evil crime boss and he’s an evil crime boss. I have no interest in which particular crime boss rules Gotham since we see practically no policy differences between them

A film about uncovering the truth of a dirty and unknown underworld of a corrupt city and the main antagonist is a man who wants to expose the rich and "help" the poor people of said horrible city is too woke. Interesting.

@@LunchCorner Lol yeah you’re a dumb fuck. No the “white privilege” and “you grew up rich” comments, all the good people are black and the bad corrupt guys are white. You’re a moron if you don’t see it but ok. Retard

Brother, as a huge Batman fan, I loved the film but if you genuinely believe it’s the best film ever made you need to go watch some more films.
