Synopsis:
In this sword and sandal fantasy, Poseidon must battle a gladiator quartet in ancient Rome. If he wins, the son of Hercules will have his life and anything else he wants. Sure enough, he wins and asks that the life of a Christian girl be spared. But the girl refuses her liberty until all of her fellow believers are also released.

"I first saw this in the mid 1960s and was impressed then as I still am. Great story which has Mark Forest righting wrongs in ancient Rome and falling for a young Christian girl. If you like lots of Gladiator fighting and clashing armies, this is the movie for you. The original title was MACISTE; GLADIATOR OF SPARTA which is a more fitting title for this story. However, they needed movies to fit into THE SON OF HERCULES series and this fit in well. Enjoy it for what it is ...an action packed Gladiator movie with lots of action. Mark Forest fits the part well."

How I love older movies…thank you for sharing….I remember this from my childhood, went to all the Hercules films and also had toys for the legendary heroes, including chariots after the Ben-Hur movie was released. Maybe it's because I'm used to seeing these '60's sword and sandal films on dvds from second rate companies which are probably copies of copies of copies but this print looks quite good.
Those movies were fun to watch as a youth, the good muscle guy beating the bad ruler , good vs evil, and stunning woman also. ( Italian women are gorgeous) it was a great massage to help the less fortunate. Lots of fun, good memories.

God saved Christian's freedom from brutality government of Rome.
Caesar gave his half eaten chicken wing to Olympia. That is true sacrifice.
It always surprise me how much shorter the Roman tunic's were in the 60-ties than in the 90-ties or there after.
Funny how neither Poseidon nor anyone else says anything about being related to Hercules. But, not too bad a movie, considering.

So in the end of the movie the evil guard leader tries to hunt down Poseidon alone after seeing him holding back three horses with one arm.

Like this vintage movie, Mark Forest does a great job playing the lead. However, thumbs down on the open and closing credits music, very cheesy 1960s. It should have been more classical based, not modern.
Poor Olympia. Poor, Poor Olympia. She deserved to Live happily ever after.
