Hi Steve. Great video thanks for tip on feeding outside your rig if swim is full of fish. The old boys in my local club matches have used chickpeas for years. Works best on a lake where its stuffed with 1-2lb fish but also some margin munters. 3 things they told me: 1. No particle feed (attracts small fish) 2. Use hair rig or bayonet unless very soft 3. Throw chickpeas if you can. Makes a great noise. Other fish also eat them. I weighed 12 roach for 10lb in a match!
My boy & I go to France & fish for big carp on the pole most years! We use Meat, sweetcorn, chickpeas, & 8mm expanders & hard pellet as hookbaits! We feed a mixture of those & and fishy groundbait & micro's & any other particles we have! I've never understood why taking monsters on the pole this way isn't popular! My pole PB is 33Lbs 5ozs & I've done 12 fish between 10-30lbs in a days pleasure fishing! Seriously worth finding a suitable venue & tackling the monsters its brilliant fun & makes for a fantastic family holiday!
That was a great video. Since I live in the U.S. telescopic fiberglass pole are really the only poles here. Margin pole fishing is what I do. 3m of 3.0mm solid latex elastic, heavy weight on bottom, corn, or worm on hook. Very positive fishing. Keep up the good work. 👍
Great Video Steve. That N Gauge Pole looks amazing. The laying on in the margin I picked up from Janie H. I also like finishing my matches (Where possible) in front of my keepnets as you did on the Video. Great fun. Thanks
Great video with some great tips that I will use when I try my hand at pole fishing as I have a friend who does it and he's offered to take me out for a session
I don't often fish commercial fisheries but when i do I like to take a tub of Pigeon feed (obviously pre soaked and boiled) I find the mixes with the larger particles best with different types and colours of peas, mung beans, red and yellow maize and many other pulses and grains. They will quite often get a quicker bite than plain corn and its fun trying to figure out which one the prefer on the day. I will take some macaroni next time i take my niece, she'll think it's hilarious if she catches on it.
My friend is a bit of a specialist Angler he lent me some flavoured chick peas to try they smelt awesome and I laughed at first until I started to catch on them I was converted lol
Here in Belgium we fish a lot like that and in some venue we currently finish between 250 and 400kgs wich is amazing for you but normal for us. Have a good one, Max
Well done champ another great video, 👍👍👍Chick peas are a brilliant bait but maple peas are better, and macaroni cheese is fantastic on the day, I can’t believe you don’t use worms in the margins it’s my number one margin bait😋😋😋
Another great video, I enjoyed watching, however one slight downer...why the stupid image for the film ? SR pointing at bait with THAT expression, please, I'm a grown man..
Catches carp on strange bait,,,,,,there’s so many fish in those places that you’d catch them on literally anything. And I do mean anything. I wonder what the regs are on stocking levels
Should have tried a big blob of paste let the paste cock your float so then you don't have to be scared of foul hooking . I would love to go here for a few days over UK winter 🎣✨️
Different video by your normal standards mate but I think you look happier trying to work out how to catch those shy skimmers on a hard venue. You would soon tire of that champ
