I remember a GAP ad with a bunch of models swing dancing in their khakis, plus the movie Swingers was obviously from this period... So strange but so fun.

these guys were at all the jazz festivals back in the 90s.. they played shows with Parliament , Grace Jones, Pattie laBelle ,Prince and Pharcyde. The singer is Lady Ms Kier a DJ and producer ,she has alot of friends in the funk, jazz community, thats why her n bootsie teamed up on this one.

When this song came out in 1990, I was young and we all danced to this at our parties! This would get people up and dancing, baby. To add some perspective, and to be perfectly honest, I didn’t know what she was saying. Actually, no one else knew , either, and no one cared, because it didn’t even matter. This was 1990, before Google came along. It’s such a lively dance and party vibe! It was years later when we figured out she was saying “Groove is in the heart.” 😆 I’m gonna Google it and see what the lead singer, the lovely Lady Miss Kier is doing now, 34 years later.
